Get a look at the definitive edition of the franchise classic ahead of next month’s PS4 release

Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age releases exclusively on PS4 in just over a month (Tuesday, 11th July!) in Europe. Today I’m here with a brand new story trailer for the game, and here it is…

Here’s a very brief overview of the story in FFXII: War has engulfed the kingdom of Dalmasca, leaving it in ruin and uncertainty. Princess Ashe, the only surviving heir to the Dalmascan throne, devotes herself to the resistance to liberate her country. Accompanied by Vaan, a young man who lost his family in the war, together these unlikely allies and their companions lead the fight for the freedom of their homeland.

For those of you who have played Final Fantasy XII before and are wondering what’s new; we’ve completely overhauled the graphics in FFXII The Zodiac Age to full HD resolution, the soundtrack has been completely re-recorded and is now in true 7.1 surround.

Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age also features the Zodiac Job System which lets you assign up to two jobs to each character. For the veterans among you, classic FF jobs like the Knight, Black Mage, White Mage and Monk are in! On top of that we’ve also added a few new features to make the game easier to play; an overlay map which can be toggled on and off at any time, an auto-save slot and shortened loading times compared to the original (as we know your time is very precious!)

Finally, we’ve also added PlayStation 4 Trophy support (good luck getting the Platinum!) and Share functionality for those of you looking forward to showing others your journey through Ivalice.

I hope you’re all looking forward to Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age, remember it releases in just over a month on the 11th July on PS4. Keep up to date with everything FFXII The Zodiac Age related on the official Final Fantasy Twitter and Facebook channels, as well as the FFXII The Zodiac Age website.
