Meet the hacker collective aiming to take down the corrupt moguls of San Francisco Bay

A new story trailer for Watch Dogs 2 just arrived, bringing with it a fresh look at major players on both sides of the conflict between hacker collective DedSec and the corrupt corporations they’re working to take down.

One of their biggest targets is Blume Corporation, an entity that should be familiar to Watch Dogs players as the creators of the notorious, city-automating ctOS. This video introduces a key antagonist, who appears to be pretty high up on Blume’s payroll: Chief Technology Officer, Dusan Nemec.

Nemec is taking the DedSec threat very seriously, and rightly so; we’ve already met a few members of the collective, and they are not to be trifled with.

The protagonist, Marcus Holloway, has already stopped a mass surveillance initiative in Oakland using his unique set of skills. Sitara and her principled, artistic approach may not always vibe with Wrench and his aggressive, chaotic style, but there’s no doubt that both are passionate, driving forces fueling DedSec’s efforts. In this trailer, we also get a glimpse of Josh and Horatio, two other members that make up the DedSec crew.

With a powerful array of hacking tools at your disposal and the open world of the San Francisco Bay Area at your feet, you and your fellow hackers will do whatever is necessary to stop Blume and their new, improved ctOS 2.0 from infringing on the freedoms of the citizens.

And with Watch Dogs 2’s seamless multiplayer connectivity, you can easily team up with friends or strangers to complete missions, gain followers, and unlock new missions, gadgets, gear, and more to help you take the fight to Blume – and look good doing it.

  • The San Bruno Radio Tower location offers co-op mission opportunities for you and your buddies to take on, and makes the Engineer Suit available for that fight-the-system-from-within look.
  • The ScoutXpedition mission sees youl tour San Francisco with a movie-location scout and visit some of the city’s most iconic locations (of which there are many).
  • Finally, PS Plus members who pre-order Watch Dogs 2 on PlayStation Store will get the Bitflip, a full unique clothing set with an especially cool neon skull bandana.

Join Marcus, Sitara, and the rest of DedSec when Watch Dogs 2 launches on 15 November. Corrupt corporations aren’t going to expose themselves, now are they?

  • Stop with the pre-order bonus DLC rubbish.

Just put it in the main game. Jeezus

    • I’ve no real issue with dlc when its made a good while after a titles launched to prolong a games life and players enjoyment (Blizzard & Cd Projekt Red are a good example of this, with content rolled out for titles 6-12 months after their launches).

Sadly we all know most studios now cut content out of games before release to sell back to gamers a matter of weeks later. This tactic is why so many current generation titles feel underwhelming at launch (a game that would have likely earned 8 or 9’s out of 10’s are reduced to 7 or below).

I’ve actually read under 30% of gamers buy dlc (or season passes) anyway. So is it really worth a companys while releasing like this? if you risk leaving your products consumers feeling like they’ve not received value for their money

    • This is what happens when companies live in past. Long time ago pre-orders were important. It let companies know the demand in advance. And it made the manufacturing logistics much easier if they knew exactly how many boxes will be sold in each shop. But then we got digital distribution, where they can sell limitless amount of copies (even limited edition dont run out today) and preorders become meaningless. But some companies still did not noticed. So instead accepting this and adapting, they try different trick to still preorder digital copies. :-( even if it mean screwing over day 1 customers.

  • Looking forward to this!

  • Looks good. Really hope the driving aspect has been improved. It was the worst thing about the first one in my opinion. Enjoyed the game a lot though so will pick this up.

    • driving indeed needed some work
+ i hope the make races against others online

+ i hope future games of ubisoft ore others dev games = you can pick / make you own carakter
i have 0 feeling whith new caracter ( i want mi online caracter to be mi singelplayer caracter !!! )

    • Well i disagree with driving complaints it was absolutly awesome in first person driving best what i have played. Complaints about driving was that it wasnt to arcadish. So can you tell me logic of this most of racing games get critics about being to arcadish but this game gets bashed for this.
But i agree with customization character clothing was one of the awfulest of any game. Same gear difrerent colors but the game was great really loved it(Bought it on sale. Hadnt expectetions at all)

  • I love paying for things that should be free

  • Wow, you need to fire your character designer. This is just laughable

    • I agree on character design. I never regretted preordering WD1, but this seems to be aimed at a much younger audience. So much younger that the game went to the area “do not want to buy the game even if it was 15 GBP”. To me, one of the sellers of WD1 was the invasions, which felt like a bit like Dark Souls. IMHO, it was underutilized, but still a nice feature. and the whole game had that sense of grittiness. this one smells a lot more like Saints Row, and that is terrible.

    • This is GTA V for “revolutionary” kids.

  • Preordering just for some sorry excuse of bonus? hats, bandana? I’m going to risk 60 bucks over here, gief me at least one 20 minutes long mission, dammit!

  • i pre orderd gold edition

very big warning against al devlopers ! i wil cansel mi pre orders , if you do not stop by spoiling you games

    trailer = jes
some dev diaries = no problem

ful gameplay by you tube / ore other social media players = no go !!!!!

2 ful months before launch them are playing , screw new way of advertising !!!!
i hated you spoild the game far cry primal
ful gameplay watch dogs 2 from some days ago

i pay 89.95 € gold edition , so respect use paying consumers ore you can put you games where i tink .

  • Watch Dogs and No Man’s Sky, the only two games I’ve ever pre-ordered. To paraphrase a great American philosopher, fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice….. You’re not gonna fool me again.

    • nice luck :) But there are really developers when you can trust like Souls games same with Withcer devs and Rockstar they just always offer highest quality products. Really huge silence from Rockstar for long time cooking something good?

  • Counting days… can’t wait to grab this marvel.

  • hey guys to understand the story of this I have to play the first one first?

  • Already pre-purchased the CE of it :)
