Everything you need to know about Marvelous Inc’s upcoming release
Nitro+ Blasterz is a 2D fighting game that stars a very unusual cast of fighters – heroines from a number of series from Nitro+, a company known for their work in visual novels and anime. The works of Nitro+ are wildly popular in Japan, and fans await every new release from the company with great anticipation. The game has been developed by the veteran team of Examu, better known for their famous Arcana Heart series.
One of my favourite things about the game is that combos are very easy to execute for beginners, but, at the same time, it uses a deep and rewarding fighting system that is sure to satisfy even the most hardcore fans of the genre. Of course, players will also be able to hone their skills in the Training mode before facing other opponents in the online battlefield.
But what I would like to focus on today is one of the most unique aspects of the game: the ‘Partner Blitz’ mechanic. Before each fight, players choose a playable character as well as two partner characters that can be summoned during combat. Both partners can be summoned at the same time as long as their respective Partner Meters are full, and they can support the main heroine in many different ways, all consistent with their personalities and abilities.
Clever use of this mechanic is critical for victory, and players who choose partners that complement their chosen character’s combos and abilities will have the edge on their opponents – even before the match begins!
Some other features that are sure to please die-hard fans of fighting games are the devastating “Lethal Blaze” attacks, which show gorgeous cut-ins with anime aesthetics, and the “Vanishing Guard” mechanic, which can protect players even from the opponent’s strongest attacks. And if that was not enough, the heroines can also enter ‘Infinite blast’ mode, which not only allows characters to regenerate a portion of their missing health, but can also interrupt enemy attacks if timed correctly.
There are many other features in the game that make each fight more exciting and unpredictable than the last, and we’re excited to see which unique strategies players will end up developing over time.
To finish up, I would like to let our fans know that Nitro+ Blasterz will be released in Europe and Australia on 7th April 2016! We hope you are as excited to try Nitro+ Blasterz as we are to deliver the game to our European fans!
