Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f coming to PS Vita this March – see the new trailer

Hello again, Playstation aficionados, Miku fans, and gentlemen and ladies with fine taste in music games. Aaron from SEGA here, and we’re excited to confirm with you all that Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f will be releasing for your PS VITA this March!
The game will be available on PSN, and will also feature a completely separate set of trophies from the PlayStation 3 version (go for that double platinum)! We’re also happy to confirm today that we will be bringing over the DLC that many have asked us about: the Snow Miku 2013 DLC, the Extra Character Modules Pack, and the Extra Songs pack will all be available at launch in March. We’ll be announcing details on pricing for these, as well as the full game, here on the Playstation Blog soon.

It’s rather amazing to look back and see how far we’ve come over the last year, and for that, we have nothing but thanks for each and every one of you who picked up the game (or plans to) and is part of that story. From a Facebook post asking for your likes and shares, to a PS3 version announcement and successful launch, and now, for all the PS VITA owners, a portable version of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f in just a month. A lot can happen in a year!
Questions? Comments? As always, we’ll be out and about responding to your notes below. Drop a line and let us know what you think!

  • Good for those who are looking forward to it.
I hope the sega west localizaion team can bring something a little more chronicles-like next.

  • It’s been a VERY long time since I’ve gotten platinum in imported Japanese version. To be honest, importing Project Diva F 2nd from Japan next month is way more exciting than this old release that doesn’t even have DLC included.
That said, I might get it anyway. My Japanese is not good enough to properly use Song Editor in Japanese version.

  • Can’t wait! Passed up on the ps3 version in hope for a vita localization so this game is completely new to me. Absolutely love Time machine and Torinoko city, among others.

  • I hope Sony will localize Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd also for both systems

  • ^^ #4 agreed. Any idea on price, or will it be the same as the PS3 version? Please please please do physical releases for future version otherwise I’m going to have to keep double dipping (hmm that may not have the desired effect on the marketing chaps :).

  • I have one, will the game only get a digital release and will it get a retail release too (highly doubt it will since the PS3 version in Europe didn’t get the retail release).

  • Ha. Was wondering what happend to this. Glad to see we are getting it next month!

  • sure as hell not buying a digital version sadly no physical release so not buying it only bought the ps3 version cause U.S had a physical release or else i would not have bought that one 2.

  • I’ve got only one question. Price?

  • I really wants to support this localization but because I imported the japanese copy (day one), and because its sequel Project Diva F 2nd (which I’ve already preordered!) is launching the same month as this, I simply can’t buy this day one.
Maybe in the future though! Good luck!

  • Thank you for localizing PDf in Europe, it took you guys long enough but I’m glad it is finally coming.

  • Hi SEGA, please release Yakuza 1&2 HD and Yakuza 5 in the west :)

  • I skipped the PS3 version since Sega deemed the EU unworthy of a retail release so i deemed them unworthy of my money.
I might consider this if the complete package with all DLC is reasonably priced.

  • Awesome to see the Project Diva titles getting an English release but the predicament you have is that most fans already have the retail Japanese version. Since I’m a terrible person I will probably be getting F-2nd on import too unless you could maybe give a subtle hint as to weather SEGA intend to translate that at some point in the future also. Obviously we don’t expect dates but it would be nice to know wether to hold out for a localized copy or not bearing in mind the Japanese release is only a few weeks away.

  • I’ve never tried a rhythm game before, but I might pick this one up and give it a try, as they seem to be uniquely suited to the Vita and to gaming on a commute or in a spare 5 minutes.
I hope this is a signal of an increased willingness from SEGA to localise more niche titles, even if that localisation is digital only.
I don’t think that any of us could argue that localising something like Phantasy Star Nova (which looks awesome) into English, with a voice cast and full physical release, would be a massively expensive proposition that SEGA may not feel confident in investing in. Most of us, however, would be just as happy with the less costly option of the original Japanese voices, English subs and menus, and a digital only Western release.
That’s surely not too much to ask.

  • Looking forward to buying and playing this on my Vita.
I hope that we will be getting Project Diva 2nd here too!

  • So..SEGA is localising these niche games and regarding games such as Yakuza 5 or Yakuza Ishin there are no plans, games that sell, that have quite a number of fans and which eventually only requires GUI and subtitles in english.

  • With reasonable pricing this will surely be a day one purchase. Thanks for the localisation SEGA. :)

  • I’m sure there’s more Yakuza fans than Hatsune Miku Fans over here. So why not localise Yakuza 5?

  • Sadly as much as I’d like to support this I’m not going to triple dip on a digital release and I guess the double whammy is that 2nd F is coming on both platforms at the end of March in Japan which I had on pre-order.

  • I have a question, for those of us who already bought the game on PS3, will this version be available through Cross-buy or will we have to pay for it again?

  • Great news, seemed like a more natural fit for the Vita so I was waiting for this announcement. I loved the DJ Max games on my psp (hint hint, put them on the store SCEE).

  • Will there be a limited edition ps vita for it just as in Japan? I really want that Hatsune miku themed white vita (and not the new slim version of it)
