Little Big Planet Update

It’s a very exciting time for LittleBigPlanet, a couple of weeks ago we launched our Tearaway Competition and last week we announced LittleBigPlanet HUB to the world!

The excitement doesn’t stop there though and this week on the LittleBigPlanet Update we have our weekly selection of Team Picks and we’re pleased to tell you that our latest DLC release is now available on the PlayStation Store…

The Last of Us Minipack available now!

The Last of Us

The highly anticipated The Last of Us Minipack is now available for LittleBigPlanet! That’s right! The pack you have all been asking for can now be picked up from the PlayStation Store!

This pack contains costumes for the intrepid duo of Joel and Ellie, who we all met earlier this year in the smash-hit by Naughty Dog and now you can have your very own The Last of Us inspired adventures on LittleBigPlanet.

We’re absolutely massive fans of The Last of Us and we know that you are too! So to celebrate the release of this pack, we’ve released a brand new wallpaper that pays tribute to this fantastic game in our own LittleBigPlanet way! Head on over to and pick it up!

Team Picks

Sackboy has a small adventure this week in Sackie in the House and we mean that quite literally as our miniature hero travels across someone’s home! Toys, pets and bouncy beds are all his play things in this most epic of little journeys!

  • I just started playing LBP Vita the other day for the first time. Only got playing more serious the day due to spending so much time on Payday 2. So far it’s a great game and loving it! Feels so much better than it did on the PS3. Only one thing I need to know, is it possible I can transfer my sackboy costume that he currently wears in LBP2 and the levels I made myself into the Vita version? If yes how do I do that? I only see my world but it’s not showing my levels

    • Unfortunately it’s just not possible to share levels between LittleBigPlanet 2 and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita.

Whilst they may look similar, they are actually very different games beneath the surface, which makes them incompatible with each other.

You can wear all of your DLC Costumes in LittleBigPlanet 2 and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, so you should hopefully be able to create your favourite Sackboy design in both titles. :)

  • Finally a new Karting track team pick! Looks like I got to re-download that one next :D

I gotta say, as well, that the images on the Store itself don’t make the costumes look as good as these ones.

Steven, I’d like to ask if you’d be able to chase an update about the Store cross-buy issues. We had a reply from rikkuhsarah (spelling?) on the Forums a month ago saying she was looking into it, and that’s the last we’ve heard about it, so at least a few people would very much appreciate one :)

  • @dark_angel69

There’s no way to transfer data between the two games. All LBPV content is unique to that title. The only stuff compatible cross-platform are the DLC costumes.

  • Hi Steven!
Awesome update, and I love the new costumes!

I just had a couple of questions. I held out buying LBP Karting and then it was recently put onto PS Plus so I downloaded it through that. But when I go into the costumes, it’s impossible to see what costumes I own (both from within the game and through the many DLC packs I have purchased) and the costumes that do not. I was just wondering if this had anything to do with the fact that I downloaded the game through PS Plus, or whether it’s in the normal retail game. It just irritating not being able to easily see what costumes I own without massive advertisements in the way for DLC I haven’t purchased yet.

  • Now there’s the upcoming LittleBigPlanet HUB, i’m still not exactly sure what this means for existing players. I’ve read the explanation on the Introducing LBP Hub! News page but it didn’t help. It seems like you’re making the game into a similar style of something on the AppStore with In-App purchases, and I don’t really find that appealing.

Do you think that you’ll have a DLC sale seeing as you’re going to be releasing LBP Hub? There’s a lot of costumes i’ve held off purchasing and i’d be grateful to hear if there will be one as a sort of celebration? :)

  • Definitely picking up Joel and Ellie.

  • I still haven’t had a chance to play The Last of Us yet but these look good. Also does the Garfield double pack work on Karting now? And is it free for us who bought the PS3 version of the pack?
