Hello Gran Turismo fans. Two GT posts in one day, we hope we are spoiling you! Hot on the heels of the last post revealing the GT6 release date and pre-order content, yesterday evening we also revealed information on an extraordinary and unique collaboration that is very much in keeping with the unmatchable scale and ambition of Gran Turismo.
Yesterday it was revealed that Gran Turismo 6 will feature a truly innovative project partnering with a host of major global brands, design houses and the global motoring industry – Vision Gran Turismo.
The project is intended to celebrate the long-standing relationships the Gran Turismo franchise has built over the course of 15 ground-breaking years of Gran Turismo games and as special thank you to the millions of Gran Turismo players all over the world.
Coming very soon from the project will be a range of exclusive, breath-taking and daring concept vehicles frombrands, manufacturers and design houses including; Alfa Romeo, Alpine, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Bertone, GM Design, Honda, Infiniti, Italdesign Giugiaro, JORDAN Brand, Mercedes-Benz, Nike, Nissan, Peugeot, SRT(Chrysler), Volkswagen and Zagato.
Each partner will bring exclusively to Gran Turismo gamers their own visionary take on the future of all things vehicular.
Here’s what legendary Gran Turismo creator and President of Polyphony Digital Inc. Kazunori Yamauchi said of the collaboration.
“This is a very exciting project. Ever since we released the first Gran Turismo game 15 years ago, GT has resonated with the automotive world and we have enjoyed many different and fascinating collaborations. But Vision Gran Turismo is probably our most ambitious to date.
“It promises to provide a window into the future of automotive design that we can bring to life in Gran Turismo 6. We are extremely grateful to all of our design partners in this project for their amazing birthday present to Gran Turismo to celebrate the franchise’s 15 year anniversary, and are so excited to share this gift with our fans.
“Working closely with the leading lights of automotive design, as well as some design teams from outside of the industry, has been a rare privilege and we look forward to sharing their creations with fans of Gran Turismo from this year through to 2014.”
The designs from project will be released and playable from the launch of Gran Turismo 6 throughout 2014 and will be free to own via a series of updates from the launch on 6 December.
