Reliving your childhood experiences can become quite cumbersome at times, what with all those pesky troubles and annoyances adulthood has to offer. You can hardly find the time to indulge in, say, for instance – some kite flying. Sounds like a bit of work doesn’t it?

But there’s an easy way out. On 29th May, we’ll be releasing Kite Fight. Developed here at Gameshastra – host to titles like Dare to Fly, Don 2 and many others – it brings you the ultimate casual experience on PlayStation Move. So why don’t you kick back, ease into that comfy chair, arm yourself with a Move controller and get ready to fly a kite!

Priced at €4.99/£3.99, Kite Fight was developed to introduce today’s gamers to the fine art of flying kites. A sport that was only recognised and played in festivals is now being brought to the world.

Kite Fight simulates kite flying using simple gestures and movements aided by the Move controller. Fly kites around the world and partake in the championships for the ultimate title of Kite Maestro! Fly kites in serene locations and soothing atmospheres like the evergreen parks of Paris, pristine blue waters of the Caribbean, sun kissed beaches of Cape Town and many more.

Engage in mid-air kite combat with special cutting techniques performed by exclusive gestures. Choose from a variety of kites and patterns, and then customise them. Earn and use unique power-ups to creatively destroy your opponents or save yourself from their wrath!

Experience the thrills of multiplayer by challenging your friends and family to a friendly kite duel. Take on some extreme kite flying in Survival mode, and compare your highscores with your friends. Watch and play as a soothing zen experience transcends into a battle of the nerves as the game puts your kite flying skills to the test.

  • Not a fan of the invisible body.Other then that it looks like a well made game.

  • i been waiting 4 a game with kites im deffo buying this nxt weds 2 support your awsome gamei hope it has loads of backgrounds

    • Thanks Richy!

Yes, we have a whole bunch of interesting locations to choose from in the game !

  • Sounds like fun. And a very good price!

  • Hi Vijay,

Is this coming to North America too? And when does Dare to Fly come out? Thanks.

    • Hello!

We are releasing this in the EU territories only at the moment. We are working with Sony in planning a launch for American territories soon !

We are working out a suitable date for Dare to Fly! But I can say its going to be coming out real soon! Stay tuned!

  • AMERICA has enough stuff already this game is for EU ONLY

  • @coolrichy007UK

Why do you care if the USA get the game??? It has literally zero effect on you getting it.
Hope they do get it as region specific game launches need to stop going into next gen and we need same time digital launches worldwide.

Have you really been waiting on a kite game? Kinda thought this idea was a bit niche and most people would not have expected a kite flying game never mind be waiting for

Back to the game those screen shots look great lots of work has gone into the locations.

  • I would have expected this to be a Vita game, being a casual game and with the Vita’s gyroscope and all. The Move probably deserves some love, but in general, I find it an awkward way of controlling any game.

As for the game, what fighting styles do you incorporate? North American, Afghanistan, Asian style?
Do you have any ‘official’ tournaments (like the Bassant) incorporated?
Is it only line-cutting, or also other competition types (like grounding)?

Oh, and why is this filed under “PS3 Firmware”?

  • Yay for more Move-exclusive games!

  • So, the blog poster asks us to fire away with any questions, but those questions remain unanswered? Too bad.

    • Hello Chris

Thanks for posting your queries !

The fighting styles were majorly derived from asian, especially Indian kites. But we have added a touch of arcade feel factor making it easy on the player. So the moves are going to be as simple as moving, pulling and tugging the Move controller and its all going to be real one to one experience which is refined !

On the modes, we have a progressive single player mode,a survival mode with waves to battle and a Offline Multiplayer duel where you can go head on with another player !

Yes it majorly line cutting but we also have interesting powerups to tackle obstacles and engage on enemies! You will also be able ram the other kites head on (seen in the trailer)

Please do share your thoughts on the game after giving it a shot !

PS: Sorry about delayed response- launch fever !!

  • Hi Vijay,
thanks for coming back to this post to answer (most of) the questions. I understand the busy busy period of a launch :-)

I hope this game is going to have a demo, as I would really like to try it out. Especially for my 3-year old kid, who will probably be thrilled with the indoor kiting, even without the battle :-)

Have a great weekend, and a great launch-party!

  • Looks like a fun little game! But you’re not going to have an option for two-line kites? I realize not everybody has the Nav controller for PlayStation Move (much less two Moves… maybe you could do the second line with a DualShock and just compensate for the lesser motion sensing with the fact that you’re usually doing all the motions together so the Move itself could handle 80% of the accuracy?), but two-line kiting is how you do all these stunts and pull-tricks and saves and such. I’d love to see two-line support added if the initial release is a success, I feel it could really add to the experience of feeling the wind.
