Video Store update: Life of Pi, Trouble with the Curve

Hello PlayStation Blog readers, I hope you had a great weekend. This week we’ve got two new movies to add.

Life of Pi

Life of Pi – Embark on the adventure of a lifetime in this visual masterpiece from two-time Oscar winner Ang Lee. After a cataclysmic shipwreck, an Indian boy named Pi finds himself stranded on a lifeboat with a ferocious Bengal tiger.

Available in Australia from 8th May to rent or buy, priced AU$5.99/AU$24.99. Available in the UK to rent or buy from £3.49/£8.99

Trouble With The Curve

Trouble With The Curve – Gus Lobel (Clint Eastwood) has been one of the best scouts in baseball for decades, but age is starting to catch up with him. The front office of the Atlanta Braves is starting to question his judgment, especially with the country’s hottest batting phenomenon on deck for the draft.

The one person who might be able to help is also the one person Gus would never ask: his daughter, Mickey (Amy Adams), an ambitious associate at a high-powered Atlanta law firm. Mickey joins him on his latest scouting trip, jeopardising her own career to save his. Forced to spend time together for the first time in years, each makes new discoveries – revealing long-held truths about their past and present that could change their future.

Now available now in the UK to buy from £11.99. Available now in Australia to buy from AU$19.99.

Both titles are available from PlayStation Store in glorious 1080p HD! Enjoy!

  • a film about food life of pie :D

  • What’s the problem if you opened the video store to rest of the Nations that fall under your territory?

I don’t need to buy my movies or rent them from the PSN but it would be something worth taking a look at if it’s “in glorious 1080p HD” as you say at the end of each blog.

The world is far more bigger than the UK and Australia. I hope you fix this before you launch the PS4.

  • slaps BiGsMoO7ke you can buy psn movies in HD i got 2 of them

UK bigger then australa :D cuz i said so

  • im in South Africa, and i cant get all applications eg NETFLIX and others . how do i get them ?

  • lol, honestly guys you aren’t missing much at all, the Video Store is a terrible service (most movies not available at all, a lot of movies not available in HD, and they’re all priced higher than a blu ray disc). Go Figure.

Oh and not to mention the fact that it’s wasted money if your PS3 dies, it’s not like the Game Store where you can get them on your second system, they’re lost for good.

    Stick to BRDs.

  • @AaronSOLDIER

Even if it’s a terrible service mate that’s not the point i’d like to have it as much as the other PSN users that fall under SCEE.

    O_o ?

  • Oh! How I wish I had access to the video store on PSN. Then I could buy DRM-locked, highly compressed, “glorious” 1080p HD movies that are tied to my Playstation. It would practically remove my need to buy cheap, high quality blu-ray movies that actually belong to me and are mine to do with as I please. Wow, this video store seems like video nirvana compared to that old fashioned physical media! Just look at those prices for intangible digital content, what a steal!

  • These are some truly great films, and I’d love to GIVE Sony my money to view them, but I’m in the Netherlands… In the time it takes Sony to create a complete new CONSOLE you’ve not been able to bring this service to more than two countries in our zone!
And never did you give an explanation! Are it the copyright rules? Why then do other devices/services offer movies? Is it the Localization, then give me the movie WITHOUT subtitles, I don’t care!
As always you’re either not gonna say anything, or say that you are not in a position to day anything, go ahead frustrate your userbase with a dangling carrot in front of their face they just can’t have!
