Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Hits PS3 Today

20 0

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit races onto the PlayStation 3 today asking the vital question: are you a racer or are you a cop? That’s the choice you’ll make when you get behind the wheel and start tearing up the streets of Seacrest County.
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit PlayStation 3 players will experience the thrill of the chase and the rush of the escape as they play through full careers as both a cop and a racer solo or connected. The blistering speeds, brutal busts and heart-stopping getaways are all connected via Need for Speed Autolog.

This network not only connects friends for epic head-to head pursuits and races, but also enables players to compare performances and stats, thereby setting the stage for the ultimate in friendly competition. I can tell you from playing here in the office that Autolog will bring out the compeition in you – even if you’re not a competitive person. Every day we’re amazed at the new times people set on each of the events. You think it can’t be beaten…until it is. Finding the right combination of shortcuts, nitrous useage, and bust strategies is the key to achieving the best time.
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit also provides you with exciting online game modes: Hot Pursuit, Interceptor, and Race. Hot Pursuit is the exciting hunter vs. hunted mode where players can play as cops or racers. As the cops, you’ll want to shut down the race by taking out the racers any way you can. As the racers, you have one goal – reach the finish line.

Lamborghini_Pagani (Final)

Interceptor mode is the ultimate head to head battle as one racer faces off against one cop. As the racer, you’ll want to put as much distance between yourself and the cop as possible. As the cop, you don’t want to let this happen.
Finally, you have the traditional race mode. This is as it sounds. Pick your racetrack and car and win the race!

In addition to your racing and chasing skills, you’ll have access to weapons to help you including: spike strips, jammers, EMPs, helicopters, road blocks and more.
With its vast open-world, Seacrest County is the perfect place to get your fix for high-speed racing (or chasing) action. There are several diverse locales throughout coast, desert, forest, and mountain with unique features to provide each side of the law with certain benefits and challenges. One strong suggestion we would make is to drive around the county a few times on your own before taking part in any pursuits. Get familiar with the beautiful scenery and its many hidden shortcuts.

  • Will it hit PSN as well?

  • Probably get this over GT5 nfs will be alot more fun and probably less frustrating.

  • not for me. i really don’t like online pass idea

  • maybe i buy it sometime next year but for now it releases to close to gt5 for me and that game will be played for months :)

  • I should receive my copy tomorrow. Can’t wait :-D

  • Looks great. Need to get this. Now, next for Criterion games, has to be a time machine. To many games, to little time. I’m sure Criterion will make it work. After all, they did make a time machine in Burnout Paradise ;)

  • Any chance you can tell us what happened to the demo of this? Downloaded it the other week and went to play it for the first time last Wednesday but it just showed me the trailer instead, but there was nothing anywhere about it being a timed demo and I’d kinda liked to have played it before it came out. Thanks.

  • So much fun. Much prefer being a Cop. Can’t wait to hunt down some dirty lowlife no good Racers. ;)

    • I’ve enjoyed the cop side of things the most too, to my surprise. It’s so satisfying to smash the race leader into a roadblock.

  • @ Paperchris
the demo stopped at nov 4 if im right, thats why you cant play it.
im on cop side also at the moment you see me your already crashed cops rules!
    play with me james !

  • i noticed even that im logged in on ps3 ( before 4 ofc) that autolog isnt working anymore, anyone else having this? so i know its autolog instead of me.

  • Why did you expire the demo? Lost a sale here.

  • Was this really out yesterday in the UK? I went to my local shop and they hadn’t seen it.
I’m disappointed, but I’ll certainly go back and get it today – because it’s Criterion.

  • @ Naeeni they expired the demo becuase it was announced that it was a limited time demo/ did you never checked playstation store?
second the reason they stopped demo was to getting the autolog servers ready, and make sure everything is working right.
@ Newcode yeah the game is out, try again today, no other shops in your region that sell games?

  • @killzonexx – This is from the Store Update blog post on 27th October,
“* Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Rating: PEGI 12
    Availability: All locales”
Nothing mentioned about it being a timed demo so I’m curious as to where it was announced (have you got a link?) as I don’t recall it saying anything about that on the Store when I downloaded but I may have missed seeing it there.
Thanks, shame as I’d been interested to try before but not so interested as to buy it outright with no testing myself.

  • Been playing it this afternoon, absolutely superb game, the demo was good but just didn’t do the game justice as far as the “racers” side of things.
@Paperchris…I’m sure it was mentioned that the demo was time limited, I know Eurogamer mentioned it, and it was also on the vids promoting the demo. Think it even said it in the PS Store itself.

  • Bought the game yesterday (Pal version UK) and I can’t connect to the EA servers. It just comes up with ‘connection failed’, error code ‘1f8’
I’m logged into PSN just fine and I have downloaded the online pass.
I found out via another forum that according to Sony there is an issue connecting to EA servers at the moment for folks with Virgin Media (like me)
    Well, that’s just great!
Has this issue been sorted yet, or even looked at? Or is it going to be one of those ‘you blame them and they blame you’ sort of deals which ends up with nothing being done about it.
I can connect to EA servers with other games, it’s just this one that refuses to.

  • Ignore the above!
After trying and failing to connect all day yesterday, I just tried it and it worked first time.
Whatever the issue was appears to have been resolved.
