Beta Feedback: How You Helped Shape Medal of Honor’s Multiplayer

26 0

The Medal of Honor beta is now closed and we want to thank you, PlayStation fans, for supporting us! The turnout was tremendous and we could not have asked for a better experience.

Medal of Honor for PS3

It is always great to do a true beta like this, because at the end of the day, this game is for you, the gamers. We received some amazing feedback and opted to extend the beta to make sure that we were able to hear as much of it as we could. Twitter, Facebook, and our forums have been blowing up with comments and we have been taking many notes.
We have learned a lot, and we wanted to take this opportunity to run down some of the major changes/fixes we have made to the game as a direct result of your feedback.
Improved Hit Detection
This was a very big issue and came up many times in the forums. We are glad to say that hit detection has been vastly improved. We really tightened up the mechanics and essentially, wherever the bullet hits on the body — that is where the hit registers. It is even possible to shoot and have the bullet go between someone’s legs – it is that precise!
Weapon Pickups
Out of ammo? No longer do you need to find an ammo crate. Find the nearest dead enemy/friendly and pick up their weapon. And remember, the knife knows no ammunition, so if you really want to be Tier 1 — pull out that bad boy and start slashing your way to victory.

Support Actions Balanced
We heard the outcry and we have made adjustments. The support actions were tweaked and are now more difficult to achieve. There is always a fine line between what is too hard and what is too easy, but we think we have balanced it pretty well. It is just not fun when you are getting nailed with rocket and mortar attacks every 20 seconds.
Unlock Tree Expanded and Balanced
Your ascension to Tier 1 status will now be even more eventful. The unlock tree has been expanded for every weapon, providing an extensive series of choices.
Crash Fixes
Every beta has its crashes and the Medal of Honor beta was no different. We know it is frustrating, but it is all part of the beta process. The good news is that we have fixed the crashes and resolved a number of connectivity issues.
Major Graphic Overhaul
The graphics have been overhauled and upgraded. We are happy to report that the game looks even more spectacular than before.
The weapons are essential to gameplay, obviously, and we made sure to concentrate on getting them right. The list is long and the changes are many. From zoom spread to damage inflicted, rest assured that every weapon has been modified.
These changes and fixes are just the tip of the iceberg. As we move toward the game’s release, we continue to improve the game every single day.

  • I’m not buying your game because the Taliban are in it…
I kid, day one purchase. Thanks for listening to all the feedback. It’s good to know it wasn’t wasted time :)

  • @1 xD
To be honest both DICE’s reaction to the beta feedback and the impressive looking single player campaign make this a day one purchase for me :)

  • this game sucks eggs lol ;)

  • This is fantastic news. It’s nice to hear our feedback has done much good. Nothing left to say but, I’ll see you all in October.

  • It’s like they nailed everything I thought was bad, now I’m really looking forward to this =D

  • when i saw the multiplayer trailer in E3 i was Holy … O_o ! but after the beta i was : Meh …. i hope this multiplayer gets better by now cuz I’m buying the game for the single player .

  • Sony are taking the [DELETED]. The games i will be buying this year will be LBP2, GT5, Sport champions, Black ops, and mabey Medal of honour. Not that anyone cares. This game is looking good. In multiplayer will there be maps in warehouses etc, or will they just be in the streets? Cheers. I like your beared

  • Modern Warfare 2 was the worse experience I’ve ever had in gaming in the last years. Medal of Honor is even worse and tries to copy something that is bad as it is since the time it was made. This stupid trend of modern war games is making gaming look even more like a thing for kids and not a respectable hobby.
Keep developing this kind of horrible and nonsense titles. Kids will love them! IT HAS WEAPONS AND AN EPIC STORY TELLING LOL

  • i didnt help, because i got a code but it didnt work for some reason.

  • Dear EA,
Please don’t release this game, and if you do I hope it’s banned.
PS: Go back to editing Wikipedia or building your evil empire or whatever it is that you do. But if you announce Mirror’s Edge 2 at TGS, I’ll forgive you. Of course, knowing you, you’ll fill it with real life locations, and big butch Americans killing Muslims.

  • A coincidence that this is said today? I don’t care, I back MoH and wish people would get the full facts before making claims.

  • really looking forward to medal of honor even more so for frontlines ^_^

  • only the fact that they did the pre-order to get a beta key i will not buy any game anymore from dice/ea
beta’s are to find bugs glitches, and to make the game good for the gamers, not to fill your bankaccount even before the game is finished.
hope this game will be DOA

  • Dissecting EA’s pitiful response.
“Many popular videogames allow players to assume the identity of enemies including Nazis.” Ah yes, from World War II, which as we all know is currently ongoing.
Sony allowing this on the blog at exactly this time is also pretty eye-opening.

  • I missed out on trying this beta, no matter where I looked I couldn’t find it :(
    Still….it’s a game I’m looking forward to.

  • Its nice to know that they have taken our advice on board and used it to help improve the quality of the game.
One question when will we see / hear anything of the ‘frontline’ remake? And will it be included on the blu-ray disc or will it be a download?

  • @Phillip99
I’d like to see you find ONE game where people kill muslims, HECK I’d like to see you find any instant of a muslim having a joke directed at them or well anything bad being directed at them that didn’t lead to said joke teller having a hate campaign thrown at them,
quite frankly we can’t keep you all in a little hate free bubble where nobody has a single bad thing to see about muslims, you see I’m a [DELETED] christian.
Guess how many times my religion gets insulted and mocked and we shurg and turn the other check. It dosen’t even matter that I’m the only person who’s not afraid of being accused of being racist to actually come right and say it for ounce this comment will probably be deleted due to “Racism”

  • @Qelgon
Medal of Honor: Frontline is included on the Blu-Ray disc. You can choose to play that from the main menu of Medal of Honor :)

  • @funnydude6556
    Don’t feed the trolls -.-”
I really liked the beta and now really looking forward to this masterpiece :D

  • I can kinda understand the whole taliban issue being new however calling for the game to be banned because of it just is stupid.
Whats next they ban war movies because some american/english guy dies in it?? Utter ridiculous.
I was a very big critic of this when it came out in beta stages however after a while got used to it and am glad they have made the changes they have done..I may risk a day 1 purchase on it.

  • This must be the future Kevin Butler was talking about…
Publishers and Developers listening to user input, sounds great :)

  • I’m not gonna waste 70 bucks on a game that looks like modern warfare 2, maybe on Battlefield 3, my favorite Online FPS are COD: WAW and Bad Company 2 although they could release some free NEW maps or put an map editor available like in Counter Strike many gamers make their on maps.

  • i thought the beta was unplayable rubbish mostly, and certainly needed more than ‘tweaking’. the hit detection issues were more than where on the body it hit. players could run into a hail of bullets and knife opponents as if the bullets passed right through. the gameplay seemed like it took bits of MW2 and BFBC2 and merged them into something less appealing than either. if there has been a radical overhaul, then it would be beneficial to release a demo (as happened with BFBC2) so the changes could be seen. i’d rent it out, but i suspect the game will come with an EA online pass..

  • change the m4a1 class and its a day 1 buy for me!
    (its not cqb!!)

  • Ha, that’s actually a really good suggestion. Thanks so much for this!
