Good day to you all, I bring you salutations of the day, and lots of ModNation Racers goodies! I have no qualms in telling you all I have become a huge zealot of this game, and will take every opportunity to tell people about how great it is :-)
Not only does the PSP version of the game appear on the store, but we have demos for the PS3 and PSP versions, as well as the Van Man Mod and Kart pack for PS3. There really is no excuse this week not to try your hand at this great mix of sublime kart racing, and the deep creation tools at your disposal.
Of course, there’s other content available on the store this week. For PSP users there are a further two games available, featuring princes and mech-suits, though not combined (I’m sure there’s a new market for someone to tap into right there), as well as more content for Buzz! and LittleBigPlanet. Also, our friends at Futurlab release their mini title Coconut Dodge onto the store too, if you haven’t heard of this already, you could do far worse than reading the three part series they’ve written here on the blog.
For the full list, you know what to do; have a butchers’ further down this post.
(Some of you may want to take note of the additional territory releases section at the bottom of the post too).
See you in the comments section!

Very nice, my bank manager won’t be happy!
Cheers Mike.
meh nuttin i like ah well
;) nice update Mike, gotta say these Wednesday updates are much better :). Very good work, any jobs going :P
nice update after playing the beta for modnation racers beta i cannot wait for friday 2 come i may download the demo to tide me over till then :)
No Williams Pinball? :-(
Sorry no. I did speak to the publisher today, and whilst I do know roughly when it’s coming, I cannot confirm a date just yet. It’s going to be some time though, so don’t expect it anytime soon on the store. Apologies.
“ModNation Racers – Online Entitlement (Download only if the in-pack Online Entitlement Voucher is missing, or is no longer valid from your retail copy) (£7.99/€9.99) Rating: PEGI 7”
Uh what? So if the copy of MNR has no voucher, you have to pay another 10 Euros to play online!?
The digital copy comes with the online entitlement packaged with it, the retail copy comes with a code inside. We offer this purely for people who buy a second-hand copy and would not get the code that allows them to play online.
Still waiting for Monkey Island then…
Indeed we are, sorry.
Great PSP update!
But, i don’t understand what is the ModNation Racer Online Entitlement :P
Hey mike thanks for the update!! Is there anything about Alundra (one of my favourite games) or Crash Bash coming to the store anytime soon?
I take it the second park of Sam & Max will be out next week then?
It will indeed be with us next week.
herro mikey :D
Only demos for me today
just 1 thing i wana ask mike have you got any news about ToE for me? :(
I don’t I’m afraid sorry :(
Good update – will Modnation Racers on the PSP be available later today or Friday ?
It will be available later today :D
Still no Monkey Island :(
Hi Mike,
I don’t suppose you know whether the ModNation Racers demo is the same content as the Beta that came out a few months ago?
Thanks for any info ;)
I don’t actually know, I’ll ask the product manager and get back to you ;)
“The digital copy comes with the online entitlement packaged with it, the retail copy comes with a code inside. We offer this purely for people who buy a second-hand copy and would not get the code that allows them to play online.”
Wow, you really are trying to kill off the used game market…
omg No sam & max or monkey island *sigh* wont be turning my ps3 on for another week.
Your comment is awaiting moderation. :@
Nice, got a couple things to download this evening. :)
One question though, is there any chance that the Disgaea 2 DLC will be put online soon? Also, the game itself disappeared from the menu’s, and can only be found through the search function, figured I’d mention that. Looks like a bug.
Keep up the good work :)
It went up a couple of weeks ago, but looking into it further it’s not available in Belgium I’m afraid. Sorry
Nice, but nothing for me! I tried the Modnation Beta and the loading times killed me ^^
Anyway, do you know when the episode 2 of Sam & Max will pop?
Certainly do, it’ll be with us next week.
Yeah disappointed with no Monkey Island.
Any news on FF9 or FF1/2 PS one classics? (FF1 and 2 were released separately on Japan PSN).
Sorry, no dates to confirm on Monkey Island just yet.
As for FFIX, I’ll only say this, it’s okay to start getting excited ;)
There was rumour of a new area for “PAIN” any news on that one Mike ?
MECHA-PRINCE-OF-PERSIA WILL DESTROY YOU ALL.
He has gattling guns. Quick, call Ubisoft, we’ll make millions!
Hey Mike, nice update. Any news on a release for Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus?
monkey island is 400 points £3.50 on xbox live get it there if u have both consoles
no ps3 games at all this week aswell. :(
Just getting Dragon Age DLC and FirstPlay.
that sucks :(
How can i go about poking them about it?
i’ve tried emailing but never get a reply :(
Today – excellent, that’s made my day. Don’t suppose you know what time ?
Okay update! Will it be around 3GMT again?
@ Mike – when does the update go live? DYING to play the Turbo! pack.
Also, the usual, any news on FF9, Resident Evil series, Castlevania and Oddworld?
Nice update this week, cheers :)
Welcome back mike
Just to let you know ross did a great job covering for ya :)
I kept my beady eyes on him, but I know he always does a good job :P
Nice update Mike. Firstplay, Coconut Dodge and the Dragon Age DLC for me this week (including Awakening now that the patch is finally out and I can go back to playing it). Good thing I’m off this weekend, gonna lock myself in the house with a few beers, RDR, DA, PoP and Modnation Racers I think, probably a bit of 3D Dot Game Heroes too.
Already downloaded the Soldner-X vid from the US store and it looks stunning, can’t wait for this game.
I have a weekend to myself pretty much too, so a bit more MNR for me, but lots of RDR too…so excited about that game! I also have 3D Dot Game Heroes on the pile to play too…going to be busy a boy this weekend :P
Ross told me last week that grandia was coming. Any chance you could shed some light on as to when it will be here? :D
No dates we can share as yet, but it’s coming yes.
RE: ModNation Racers – online entitlement – I think this could be a good idea and we’ll see a lot more of it; when you buy the game, the price you pay for it includes the cost of running the online services. People who buy second-hand don’t contribute anything to the cost of online, so it’s not unreasonable to ask them to pay more to enjoy online functionality. It beats having to pay a subscription by a long way.
I say it ‘could’ be a good idea, because this assumes that MNRs online servers will stay online for a good few years. If they close down within a two or three years like many of EA’s annual game series, then it won’t seem so good.
I notice this is only for the PSP version. Is the PS3 version exempt from this restriction?
Posted on 19 May, 2010 at 1:09 pm by Mike Kebby
Certainly do, it’ll be with us next week.
Why is it delayed for us? we all payed £19.99 for it same as america.
I don’t know why there were separate release dates, but we were always tracking next week, not sure why it was different for the US… :(
Still no Silent Hill: Shattered Memories for PSP Go owners? It baffles me how digital releases or not mandatory for publishers.
We simply cannot force publishers to release content digitally.
Let me just bring my drink.
no super street fighter 4 costume pack this week then nothing for me then
What is the price for the 90 Day Subscription in Ireland? It only mentions the price of a single part.
It’ll be €10.99
Any news on ANY God of War 3 Download Content??? massive Sony game released in March, now completely unheard of?? Anything at all would be great.
RE: Williams Pinball – the System 3 website now says September 2010 :(
H’m this split second DLC is only a unlock, so you will also get this by simply playing the game?
Or is it exclusive and can’t it be unlocked by normally completing the game?
They are indeed unlocks, you can play the game to unlock this content (not sure how long that would take), or give yourself a head-start and buy it.
Firstplay and maybe some of the Modnation Racers dlc and Split Second too. Getting those two games on friday and looking forward to them :D.
Mike, do you know if this online entitlement is going to be a common thing with games?, I heard EA were going down this route with their games but never knew Sony would. Not a prob for myself personally as I like buying new ;)
I couldn’t comment on other publishers, but I think it’s a safe assumption to believe we’ll see it happen more often yes.
Just the two demos and Firstplay for me then, to be honest with Skate 3 and Red Dead on Friday no time for much of anything anyway :)
cant believe there been no god of war 3 dynamic themes ,avatars or home content at all yet on store , sony have no clue how to promote games and gather extra income from stuff like that .
Any upcoming avatars? I’m surprised we didn’t get any for White Knight or God of War III.
Resident Evil and Tomb Raider (PS Classics) the US have had em a while when will we be gettin them???
When is the store up?
About 3 o’clock this afternoon (GMT) I would say.
Will Monkey Island be out this year or 2013?
I doubt it would be 2013…
Glad to see FirstPlay in Ireland! Hope the 90 day option is there
The subscription will indeed be available for you yes :)
