Experience the horror of Blackwood Mountain for the first time on PC.
UPDATE: An earlier version of this article contained inaccurate information regarding ultrawide aspect ratios. This information has since been updated, plus new clarification on upscaling.
The terrifying Until Dawn is launching on PC for the first time on October 4, and we wanted to deliver the best horror experience for a new audience.
The PC version will have advanced graphical features, customizability, accessibility features and run on a wide range of hardware. See our recommended specs below:

Within the extensive set of features we support on PC, these are some of the big highlights:
Full DualSense controller support
Much like the PS5 console version, we are bringing the capabilities of the DualSense controller straight over to PC. You’ll be able to experience haptic feedback, feeling the heartbeat of the characters during intense Don’t Move sequences. Adaptive triggers allow you to feel the weight of your choices, and experience life-like resistance when pulling the trigger of firearms.
Upscaling with NVIDIA DLSS 3 & AMD FSR 3
We’re using both NVIDIA & AMD technology to bring you the latest versions of their cutting-edge upscaling technologies.
With NVIDIA, the game supports DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) 3.7; their AI-based upscaler that boosts graphics performance and framerates on GeForce RTX GPUs whilst retaining image quality. We’ve also included Frame Generation (on supported RTX GPUs) for a smoother experience and NVIDIA Reflex to help reduce latency.
With AMD, we’ve included the latest version of FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR): 3.1 – their upscaling technology is designed to run on virtually any hardware. Oh, and if that wasn’t good enough: we’ve also included FSR’s Frame Generation technology as well.
Ultrawide Aspect Ratio
Playing Until Dawn on an ultrawide monitor is quite an experience, and it’s something we’ve wanted to do from the very beginning. You can run on ultrawide monitors with an aspect ratio of 21:9.
For those who don’t want to use the game’s new 23.9:1 cinematic aspect ratio, you can also play using the original 16:9 aspect ratio. Or, if you want to really configure, we allow you to run it in “Free” aspect ratio mode.
Ray-tracing support
If you have the supported hardware, Until Dawn has been built with a curated set of ray-tracing features, such as shadows, reflections and Ambient Occlusion.
Unlocked frame rate
One of the great reasons for playing on PC is the sheer power of the hardware you can run on. For those who have monitors (and machines) that can render high frame rates: you can play at whatever frame rate your machine can support.
Aside from these features, we also support multiple peripherals beyond the DualSense controller. We also support Steam Input, so you can remap to your heart’s content.
Pre-order Until Dawn now and be one of the first to experience this rebuilt and enhanced classic on PC and PS5 when it launches October 4, 2024*.
