PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for September: Saints Row, Black Desert – Traveler Edition, Generation Zero 

New pricing changes to PlayStation Plus 12-Month plans.

It’s a new month, with a new lineup of PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for September. The Monthly Games lineup of Saints Row, Black Desert – Traveler Edition and Generation Zero will be available to PlayStation Plus members on Tuesday, September 5 until Monday, October 2. 

Let’s take a closer look at each of the games in turn. 

Saints Row | PS4, PS5 

Experience the biggest and best Saints Row playground ever created.  The unique sprawling world of Santo Ileso is the backdrop for a wild, larger than life sandbox of thrilling side hustles, criminal ventures and blockbuster missions, as you shoot, drive and wingsuit your way to the top. Take over the city block by block, wage war against enemy factions and tighten your grip on the streets. Play online with a friend at any time, via fully untethered drop-in / drop out co-op, skipping the need to take either of you out of the outlandish action. 

Black Desert – Traveler Edition | PS4 

Find your calling in this open-world fantasy MMORPG which boasts fast-paced PvE combat, large-scale PvP siege wars, multiple character classes and combat types to specialize in. You can also choose to dedicate yourself to a variety of pursuits, such as trade, fishing, horse training, alchemy, cooking, and gathering. The Traveler Edition is a bundle of the base game and multiple add-ons*. 

*Those add-ons collectively constitute The Traveler Item Pack, which is also available on PlayStation Store as a separate download. PlayStation Plus members who have already purchased any edition of Black Desert cannot redeem the full Traveler Edition bundle from PlayStation Plus. However, PlayStation Plus members who have already purchased any edition of Black Desert other than the Traveler Edition may redeem the standalone Traveler Item Pack from PlayStation Plus, instead. 

Generation Zero

This first-person open world adventure is set in a familiar but hostile open world of 1980s Sweden. Battle and survive deadly machine enemies alone or with three friends in seamless online co-op as you discover the truth behind what’s happened to the region. You must choose your battles wisely as you engage in adrenaline-pumping guerilla combat against these mechanical forces. Scavenge parts from your fallen enemies and use them to craft equipment, weapons and ammunition. Build and fortify your own bases across the island and start taking back your home.

PlayStation Plus members have until Monday, September 4 to add PGA Tour 2K23, Dreams and Death’s Door to their game library. 

We also wanted to let you know that starting September 6 we will be increasing the price for PlayStation Plus 12-month subscriptions globally across all benefit plans. This price adjustment will enable us to continue bringing high-quality games and value-added benefits to your PlayStation Plus subscription service. 

Here are the new prices for PlayStation Plus 12-month subscription plans.

79.99 USD | 71,99 Euro | 59.99 GBP | 6,800 Yen

PlayStation Plus Extra 12-Month Subscription
134.99 USD | 125,99 Euro | 99.99 GBP | 11,700 Yen

PlayStation Plus Premium 12-Month Subscription
159.99 USD | 151,99 Euro | 119.99 GBP | 13,900 Yen

The new prices for the 12-Month subscription will remain at a discounted rate when compared to purchasing the 1-Month or 3-Month subscriptions over a 12-month period. 

For current 12-month subscribers, this price increase will not take effect until your next renewal date that occurs on or after November 6. However, any membership changes you make on or after September 6, such as upgrades, downgrades or buying additional time, will update your plan reflecting the new prices.  You can change or cancel your subscription at any time, details here.

We’ll notify current subscribers of these changes via email and will have additional details on our website soon.

    Thank God, I’m not the ONLY ONE. Did Sony plan on springing it to people on here that they were YET AGAIN raises prices….AGAIN!!!. It’s crazy we have to find out from other sources and not directly from the company and also crazy that you guys are Price gouging us in the middle of a RECESSION. ARE YOU SERIOUS? Are you guys not making money hand over fist as it is and you want to raise prices FOR EVEN MORE OF OUR MONEY?? WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU POSSIBLY RAISING PRICES FOR?? I don’t even see the damn benefit for what i’m spending now already for PLAY STATION PLUS PREMUIM. I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT OLD GAMES FOR THE PS1 OR PS2.     Imagine owning Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts IP and being able to use it for PS Stars consistently and if PS Home comes back it would be a huge money maker. You have to spend big money to make money and grow your brand/business.

    Ridiculous price increase that extremely diminishes the value of all PS Plus tiers (especially the Essential tier considering how many low quality games they regularly offer here). The only way I will continue to subscribe to PlaySation Plus is if they create a basic tier for online gaming an cloud saves for a reasonable price as I will not renew at these crazy prices.

    I haven’t commented on a blog in years but I specifically logged in here to say how outrageous and anti-consumer PS Plus has become (at least ‘Essential’). Sony has offered weak monthly games for years now and gated online multiplayer for years (something not only free on PC but historically free even in older gens), games I paid for and should have full access to, and now they’re trying to act like 80 bucks annually is a good value. Gamers, STOP SUPPORTING THIS NONSENSE. It’s anti-consumer and extorting you for basic features that should be free (even cloud saves are free on PC and mobile). This is the straw that broke the camels back for me, I’m done with PS Plus and most SaaS in general. Sony has regressed so much this gen.

    Will not renew, there is NO NEED for a price increase. What, you’re in first place and see everyone else raising prices across the board and just figure you need to cash in too? You already increased the price of all games this generation and now this crap, do you want a mass exodus from the PSN? Do you not realize there are plenty of other options? I love your exclusives, but this is not consumer friendly at all and these moves will force me off the platform. Not to mention, your incessant push into live service games so you can continue to bleed us dry. This isn’t the same Sony that put out the PS4 and did a major course-correction from the PS3, it’s almost as if you learned nothing at all.

    First thanks for lineup, second I know gamers are not happy due to low score of games but really now this games can be playable more than when they come let us take saints row as example when released was bad no worse but after time and update and fixing now it good and this game I will play by god well ,the other game is online part of game but with dlcs but good last fp game ok not my kind but for others may be love it.
    Last word this month is better because it has 3rd person game and open world which is saints row with other online better than sorry to say unsatisfied months

    I really believe that price increase is a bad idea atm. Alot of ppl are struggeling with inflation and 71€/year might be chancel area/motivation enough for some. This should have been done mid next year.

    Im a sony investor for over 10 yrs and starting to get worried of some management decisions over the last yrs. It feels there is not a good Overall Intuition of the market.

      Moreover playstation had a clear price advantage when compared to gamepass, however this advatange diminishes with increasing extra and premium tiers. That makes ppl think about where they get more value for the price. If the abk Deal goes through it would have been enough to increase prices thereafter and use the money to pay ubisoft..

    I bought my PlayStation 1 in September 1995. I’ve owned EVERY Playstation console since (and at launch). I remember on the 25th anniversary buying all kinds of Playstation merchandise and celebrating the brand.

    I’m over it in 2023. Got the Premium sub for classics… get garbage. Now price will be up to 220 CAD for a year. Now I’m not going to resubscribe AT ALL. First time since Plus began.

    We were told our previous backward compatible game purchases (R4 as an example) would carry to PS5. They don’t.

    State of play shows suck the air completely out of the room. E3 presentations were EXCITING.

    Buy a PSVR2 and within months the game library looks like a landfill with nothing on the horizon that is promising. Basically is a 800 CAD Pavlov machine for me now and my VR1 library which did have a lot of enjoyable content in it is worthless.

    Younger players don’t know any better… but Playstation used to be much better.

      And as a fanboy, it saddens me to see what Sony is doing to the Playstation brand. For the last 25 years there have always been PS games on the horizon that I’ve looked forward to, whose release I could hardly wait to see, whose first unbox, insert disc and start playing I celebrated. But since the PS5 – somehow not anymore. Focus on GaaS, focus on CrossGen, focus off MTX …

      If this continues, I don’t know if I can or want to identify with the Playstation brand anymore.

    I haven’t downloaded a game in months because nothing looked even remotely tempting. And now you’re raising the price. I honestly only subscribed for Cloud saves. Xbox does cloud saves for free. I’m done with Playstation Plus.

      You’re going the wrong way boss. Move to PC. Xbox is the same exactly problem. They just dropped free games from gold and there is talk of another price increase. Go to PC. Steam sales are on the same level as PS+, the online is free, voice chat is free, and cloud saving is free.

    I have the premium PS plus and have been pretty happy except I really would like to see more PSP amd PSone games.
    Just saw the price increase . Very big increase. I have decided that when my script is up I will not be renewing. Hoping enough people complain so that Sony may reconsider such a big increase. ( I hope Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles PSP comes out before my script is up ) lol

    I’m hoping with the price increase, especially with PS+ Premium, that cloud streaming when fully enabled will actually come later after the launch of the PlayStation Portal and are allowed to Stream directly from the cloud without the need of the PS5. Me trying to forecast and explain the price hike.

    Dang.. I’ve been subbed since PS+ was in beta on PS3, but this will be the end for me. Realistically, the only value I get out of it these days is cloud storage. I can’t remember the last PS+ game I played… Stray maybe?

    This will be the second price increase without any tangible improvements. I loaded up on time prior to the last increase, but won’t be doing the same again.

    No one cares, I know. My only hope is leadership is in these comments.

      Given what’s on offer, I don’t think they should be charging for some of these features anymore. Online Play for example should not be pay to play.

    Premium is not worth that much of a price raise. There should be hundreds of PS1 and PS2 games on the service if you’re going to raise the price that much. Where’s Shadow Hearts? Kouldelka? Rule of Rose? Haunting Ground? Godhand? Where even half of the PS2 Classics that showed up on PS3?

    No, I’ll be going down a tier, when it comes time to renew next year, unless there’s a great sale, because these prices are unacceptable for what they offer. Extra, at least, has a ton of games, but there’s no reason to go higher than that for what is offered.

    Gamepass is US $16.99 a month or $203.88 annually. This change makes the highest tier of PS+ $14.16 a month (assuming yearly payment). There are features and additional games that need to happen, but the cost is still less than Gamepass. I agree with most people on here, there needs to be more given to make the value proposition even out for such a big jump in cost. Hell, we should all get free Portals or something.

    I have a better idea sony. Drop the free games. No one wants them. In fact this should be your Essential Tier going forward: FREE

    Features:
    Online Play
    Party chat.

    You can cut everything else out to your wacky sub tiers. Including the trophy assistance videos. PS+ has not been a value in a long time and you’re charging for things I don’t even use. I just want to play online and play my games I purchased. You don’t really need a subscription fee for those two features. You can even have the cloud saves, so long as you give me the ability to put them on USB. You want to have some other tiers above that or mix and match options thats fine. This 80 dollars US is rediculous, especially when PC gamers get many of those features for free through Steam.

    Will this price increase allow the other accounts on my home console to utilize cloud uploads for their game saves? My PS+ subscription allows all other accounts on my console to play online and play my games. But since Sony took away the ability to backup game saves locally to a drive via USB, as was the case on the PS4 (or the PS3 even, for that matter), their saves are essentially locked to the console unless they, too, shell out the (increased) price for PS+. Essentially just to upload their game saves. In the event my PS5 bites the dust, they’re SOL. Your direct competitor offers this to all of their customers for free…
