Inspired by the look of the DualSense wireless controller, play your PlayStation games on iPhone through PS Remote Play with ease.
I am thrilled to introduce Backbone One – PlayStation Edition, an officially licensed mobile controller for iPhone users.
The look and feel of the Backbone One – PlayStation Edition was brought to life by our design team in collaboration with the brilliant minds at PlayStation. The elegant colors, materials, and finishes are all inspired by the design of the PS5 console’s DualSense wireless controller, all the way down to the transparent face buttons and its visually distinctive, floating appearance. It feels right at home with the other products in the PS5 lineup, like the Pulse 3D headset, which you can connect directly to the Backbone One – PlayStation Edition.

Backbone One is the gaming essential for PlayStation on iPhone. If you have access to broadband internet and a PS5 or PS4 console, plug an iPhone into the Backbone One and instantly start playing your PS5 and PS4 games with the power of the PS Remote Play app—whether that’s out and about or even elsewhere in the home*. See the PlayStation Remote Play website for more information: https://www.playstation.com/remote-play/
Backbone One also works wonderfully with App Store games and other game streaming services that support controllers, including Genshin Impact, Fantasian, Call of Duty: Mobile, and more. Players can download the Backbone App for a customized PlayStation experience. Inside the app, you’ll see various PlayStation integrations, such as custom glyphs representing the iconic PlayStation shapes and the ability to browse hundreds of game titles.

Players will also find a dedicated row inside the Backbone App with new releases and updates from PlayStation.

Backbone One is powered by your iPhone device, so charging is not required. For more information about Backbone One – PlayStation Edition, please check out: https://playbackbone.com/playstation.
We are thrilled to release Backbone One – PlayStation Edition and can’t wait for PlayStation fans worldwide to get their hands on it. The Backbone One – PlayStation Edition will be available in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom at launch, with more countries to follow. We hope you’ll enjoy it.
You can also visit PlayStation Support to find out how to set up Backbone One – PlayStation Edition for use with Remote Play on iPhone and other compatible applications.
*A PS4 or PS5 console, the Remote Play App and an account for PlayStation Network are required to stream your games to other devices. Remote Play can be used with a mobile data connection or Wi-Fi. Broadband internet with at least 5Mbps is required. For a better Remote Play experience, a high-speed connection of at least 15Mbps is recommended using either Wi-Fi or mobile data connection. Titles that require PlayStation VR or other peripherals such as PlayStation Camera are not compatible with PS Remote Play. Availability of DualSense features such as audio output and haptic effects vary when using remote play on Android®, PC, Mac®, iPhone®, or iPad®; some features may not be available.
Says someone has anger issues for stating opinion… then rants for 20 paragraphs of angry comments about someone they don’t know at all and how angry the opinion makes em lmao 😂 winning personality of the day
and as always only for IPhone, those of us who don’t like Apple products are left with the desire, that is discrimination and phobia of Android phones
The massive reason why I own a PlayStation is because I love the symmetrical analog sticks. I think that symmetrical analog sticks are more comfortable to hold and ergonomical. So I definitely won’t be buying this
If it was truly inspired by the dualsense, it would have symmetrical sticks. I would have bought it then. Not interested now.
Are they going to make a version that supports Androids.
Button layout isn’t PlayStation, it shouldn’t be licensed to begin with!
That’s great Sony! However, I will also hope you will work on the Android version. I do not use Apple devices.
Too many comments to check. Does anyone know if this will be available to Android? I got a Galaxy S10 and I wanna buy this, but only if I know it’s gonna work
When will, if ever, an android version will be available
Cool but is there one for Android users?
No android love-no buy!
Just for apple. Android doesn’t need a cloud to have storage! Just a micro SD card. Had my for ten years and still have 65 gb of memory. Horrible design.
Just more money to spend on cloud storage. Good luck apple.
When will there be a back button for ps5?
I think everyone already asked my question. Does anybody know the availability of this kind of item for Android? I am not now nor have I ever been really an iPhone person.
Always been a PS fan and a user but, THIS right here… words can’t express my disappointment in Sony for creating something for iphone and not Android/Galaxy, I’ve NEVER bought or entertained the Idea of purchasing apple products, this is 1 (in addition to MANY) customer(s) that you Won’t be selling this to, Even if you come out with an android version in the future, you better put that analog stick where it should be or we may as well switch to Xbox because, I’m boycotting this particular item.
Why are there no Android variants? At least with Samsung devices. Android is a much larger market. At this point Android is mainly USB-C. Seems like a weird oversight.
How about all the Android users? Is this compatible with any Galaxy devices?
Definatly was bumed wasnt a handheld. But still gonna get one try it out🤓 if i dont like like it meh ive waisted money on dumber **** thats for sure.
Make this for Android or I will riot! (Ok, I won’t really riot. I’ll just sit over here silently judging how long it takes for you to make it for Android. Watching. Judging. Think about it.)
Feels racist toward samsung owners imo. Give the option to put whatever phone you have in it.
Why is playstaton being so bias? I only buy Samsung phone’s not iPhone 😒 so I’m feeling some type of way……
Yeh I’ll be skipping this.
If both thumb sticks where below than I’d not skip it.
A thumbstick placement is why I don’t buy an Xbox.
I literally cannot use that configuration without permanently ripping the tendons connecting my left thumb to my wrist.
It is extremely disappointing that between iPhone and Android, Playstation would only do this iPhone. That’s a Microsoft move. Way to go
Not to mention this is for iPhone.
I don’t buy iPhone.
I hate iPhone and it’s DRM policies.
This is why I’ll stick with android till either I die or Android is no more.
Screw iPhone.. There are more Android users out there…
Are Android users going to get access to something down the road that apple users won’t have at it’s launch? Seems like a blunder in my eyes
That’s pretty cool my question is if I can play any game I’m guessing this only works for games that you download through the PlayStation account what about games that you purchase from the store ? Because on a PS4 you can upload the game from the disc and have it installed onto the PS4 so there goes the question there will that work on playing games
My other question is if this device only works with Apple iPhone or does this work with both Android phone also, it would have been nice if you created same device but for the tablets system
Looks Well made, if u need help designing one that doesn’t make youre wrist hurt after hrs of use I can assist. And spread out Buy RED DEAD Redemption Rockstar doesn’t want it and it’s Ready to be expanded like Mexico is still a wide open play area that is off limits. Please
I do think it’s a good idea to have a controller to help but the only not good thing is it as a look of an X-Box controller. I do not hate X-Box but I do think it should look like it a PS4/PS5 controller
Where is Android one At, we want Android backbone for Android people please.
He’ll hand gang controller when you hook up to your phone I want to know how much you will be to ship it and the price for it to buy it
Why not revamp the Vita with the rumble, PS Button with grips that are like the controller so its comparable with the Switch & Steam Deck ?? Give us Playstation Followers sometimes to compete with Nintendo & P.C. ?? I understand taking the Vita out but turn into the “Playstation Phoenix” basically the Vita rising from the ashes to THROAT PUNCH 👊 Switch, Steam Deck and a future XBOX Handheld….
My girlfriend has an iPhone. I have an android. I got so interested in this I checked and realized it won’t work for my phone.
I love the idea and can’t wait to see the reviews! But sad because it’s only for Iphone!
Why would you make something just for iPhone but you got android charging ports on the ps5 system and controllers?🤦♂️🤷♂️
The “innovative” Playstation Switch…🙄
Or, Playstation iSwitch.
There will be For Android ?
Does it have to be an iphone? Can you use an android?
Business meetings”Flights over night hmm ok you got me. I’m in 😊👍
Thanks guys for putting this on “Androids as well. I gotta niece that’s going to love this. 🙌
That is nice for iPhone but I do not have an iPhone So it is pretty much useless to me They would make something not everyone can use
I need this on android
Where’s the one for the android users there’s a lot of us out there
Why is it not for Android phones totally not fair
Can’t wait
Well that looks like something I would like to get! Because im a playstation guy! But I have a galaxy!! So that’s pretty much bull…so I guess I’ll never get to have one!!
هل يمكن طي الجهاز .واحترامي لكم..
Please tell me this is the start of opening the door to third-party manufacturers of PS5-compatible controllers. Currently the only pro-level PS5 controllers are modifications of the Dualsense. Sony don’t offer an official PS5 Pro controller, which to be honest is a huge downside for me as a competitive gamer. The Xbox Series X has loads of options for high quality pro controllers, the PS5 has 1 which is a SCUF modified Dualsense which is simply not a reliable option.
This looks really awesome! I’m just a little concerned I may not have a “sufficiently robust” wi-fi connection.
