What is the lineup of games included with the all-new PlayStation Plus?

The new PlayStation Plus will launch with 700* titles across three membership plans. The curated content will include blockbuster hits such as Demon’s Souls, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, NBA 2K 22, Red Dead Redemption 2, Returnal, and more. Here is a sample list we announced on PlayStation Blog. Titles may vary by local market, so be sure to check PlayStation.com for the game list when the new PlayStation Plus launches in your region.

I’m already a PlayStation Plus or PlayStation Now subscriber. What will happen with my membership?

Current PlayStation Plus members will transition to PlayStation Plus Essential, enjoying the same benefits that PlayStation Plus provides today, such as PS4 and PS5 monthly games, exclusive discounts, cloud storage for saved games, online multiplayer access, and more. There are no changes to the existing benefits you get from PlayStation Plus.

Existing PlayStation Now members will transition to PlayStation Plus Premium, with no increase to their current subscription fees at launch. For more information, please visit our website.

Will PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now still be available as standalone subscriptions?

When the new PlayStation Plus service launches, PlayStation Now will no longer be available as a standalone subscription service, and current PlayStation Now users will migrate to PlayStation Plus Premium.

For PlayStation Plus, benefits will remain the same in the first plan option, which is rebranded as PlayStation Plus Essential. Additional benefit plan options will be added, please see the above chart.

How often will new titles be introduced to the new PlayStation Plus service?

Games will continue to refresh monthly with the all-new PlayStation Plus service, so there is always something new to play. In keeping with our normal cadence for PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now, the refreshes will occur twice monthly. Please check PlayStation.Blog for the latest monthly game announcements.

PlayStation Plus Essential

  • A monthly refresh will occur on the first Tuesday of the month for the PlayStation Plus Essential plan (and both higher tiers), with new PS4 and PS5 games every month – same as what PlayStation Plus members get today.

PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe

  • Another monthly refresh will occur in the middle of the month with new games across PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe plans. The number of games refreshed will vary per month.

What devices can I use to play games with the new PlayStation Plus membership?

Update: PC streaming for PlayStation Plus Premium members is currently not available in Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia at launch, and will be supported in a future update.

The new PlayStation Plus is currently supported on the following devices:

  • PlayStation 5 console – streaming and game downloads
  • PlayStation 4 console – streaming and game downloads
  • PC – streaming only

PlayStation Plus monthly games that were previously downloaded on PS3 and PS Vita devices will continue to remain accessible as long as the user remains a PlayStation Plus member.

What games will I be able to stream or download on the new PlayStation Plus?

The ability to download or stream games on PlayStation Plus will depend on the plan benefit you choose, and the market location. Please see the list of market locations above that will launch with the PlayStation Plus Premium plan.

Downloading (PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe plans)

  • Original PlayStation, PSP, PS4 and PS5 games are available for download to play.
  • Remastered or remake versions of PS2 and PS3 games will also be downloadable for play on PS4 and PS5 consoles.

Streaming (PlayStation Plus Premium plan)

  • Original PlayStation, PS2, PS3, PS4 and PSP games are available for streaming through the Premium plan, available in select markets. This includes streaming access to titles from the games catalog offered in Extra and Premium plans.
  • Please note streaming access for some titles, including classic games, will occur after launch for the PlayStation Premium plan. Streaming availability may also vary by title. Streaming is also not available for PS5 titles.
  • Games can be streamed on PS4 and PS5 consoles and PC.

Monthly games from the Essential plan remain the same as downloadable games only.

Will original PlayStation and PSP games from the PlayStation Plus classic game catalog offer trophies?

Some original PlayStation and PSP titles may offer trophies such as Ape Escape, Hot Shots Golf, IQ Intelligent Qube, and Syphon Filter. This feature is optional for developers.

Can I transfer game progress from the time-limited game trials included in the PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe plan if I decide to buy the game?

Yes. Any trophies and game save data from the trial period will carry-forward if you purchase the game.

If I earned trophies after trying out a time-limited game trial title through PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe, and decide not to buy the title, can I still keep my trophies?

Trophies earned during your time-limited game trial through the PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe plan will remain on your PSN profile, even after you complete the trial and decide not to purchase the title. If you decide to purchase the title at a later time, you can continue to earn trophies where you left off.

Will game progress from the PlayStation Plus games catalog be transferred between PS4 and PS5 consoles if I choose to finish the game on a different device?

If you are playing a downloaded game from the PlayStation Plus games catalog, the save data will be saved to your PS4 or PS5 console, depending on the console you are playing on. You can manually upload your game save to PlayStation Plus cloud storage and download it to either a PS4 or PS5 console.

If you are a PlayStation Plus Premium member and you are streaming a game from the PlayStation Plus games catalog, the saved data will be automatically stored within the PlayStation Plus Game Streaming Storage and you can pick up and stream on another device without taking any additional steps.

Will DLC and add-ons work with downloaded games from the PlayStation Plus catalog?

Yes. You can purchase DLC and add-on content for the games you download from the games catalog through PlayStation Plus. If your membership expires, or if the content leaves the service you’ll also lose access to the DLC and add-on content associated with that game. Once you resubscribe to the service or decide to purchase the title, you’ll be able to use your purchased DLC and add-on content again.

Please note, DLC and add-on content is not supported when streaming a title.

When I’m offline, can I play games I’ve downloaded from the games catalog offered in PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium/Deluxe?

Yes. However, when playing a downloaded game from the game catalog in PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe plans, you’ll need to connect to PSN every seven days to validate your PlayStation Plus membership and maintain your access to the game.

Please note, this step is only required for game catalog titles in the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe plans. It does not apply to the monthly downloadable games available through PlayStation Plus Essential.

With this service change, will I have to redownload any games that were previously acquired via PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now?

For PlayStation Plus games you have previously redeemed to your PSN account, those games will still remain as part of your game library as long as you are a PlayStation Plus member. There are no changes to your PlayStation Plus benefits.

For games you’ve previously downloaded from PlayStation Now’s game catalog, if the titles are also available for PlayStation Plus, you can continue to play and your progress will continue to save. Similar to PlayStation Now, if the content is no longer offered on PlayStation Plus, you won’t be able to access the titles when they leave the service. If the title is available on PlayStation Store and you decide to purchase it, you’ll be able to access your save data again – just make sure you don’t delete your saved data.

When this transition takes place, are there any titles previously available to stream or download via PlayStation Now that are not available with the all-new PlayStation Plus?

The game catalog offered through PlayStation Now will continually change up to the transition of the all-new PlayStation Plus game catalog offering. PlayStation.com will be updated with the game catalog lineup when the new PlayStation Plus launches in your region.

What’s the difference between playing a downloaded game and a streamed version of the same game through the PlayStation Plus Premium plan?

Games downloaded from the all new PlayStation Plus games catalog can run locally on your PS4 or PS5 console at their native graphic quality and sound output modes, so the quality can increase up to 4K if the title, console, and your TV supports it. Downloaded games with PS VR support are also playable using your PS VR system.

Additionally, some online features, such as add-ons and online mode, will only be accessible through the downloaded version of the game.

The PlayStation Plus Premium plan offers streaming in select markets, with resolution options up to 1080p. The quality will vary depending on your internet speeds and bandwidth, requiring a minimum of 5 mbps or 15 mbps for 1080p.

What are the minimum requirements to stream games through the PlayStation Plus Premium plan on PC?

  • Windows 7 (SP 1), 8.1 or 10
  • Core i3 2.0 GHz
  • 300 MB of available storage
  • 2 GB of RAM
  • Sound card; USB port

However for optimal performance, the following specs are recommended:

  • Windows 7 (SP 1), 8.1 or 10
  • 3.5 GHz Intel Core i3 or 3.8 GHz AMD A10 or faster
  • 300 MB or more of available storage
  • 2 GB or more of RAM
  • Sound card; USB port

What controllers can I use to play games streamed on PC through the PlayStation Plus Premium plan?

DualShock 4 will be compatible with games streamed through the PlayStation Plus games catalog on PC.

*Availability of Classics, Game Trials and Game Catalog varies over time and plan. See https://www.playstation.com/Plus for details and updates on PS Plus offerings. • Let’s say I paid for 1 year of PS+ in January and I want to upgrade to PS+ Premium in June. How much am I paying in June for that? Is the price pro-rated until the two subscriptions sync back up next January? Hope this makes sense…

    • From I heard it should roll over to premium automatically
And my question is tho can we get premium for 50 bucks for quartly or has to be the 120

    • But 1 year of Premium is twice the cost of 1 year of Essential (what I paid for in January). It can’t roll over to Premium automatically unless I pay some amount more in June. I hope that amount is $120 – $30, that is, 1 year of Premium minus 1/2 year of Essential.

    • My educated guess: you’ll pay full price for the year of Premium and the additional half-year of Essential will get pushed to the period when the Premium sub ends. So, one year of Premium followed by a half-year of Essential. They will stack rather than sync.

    • Just wait until june 13th faq, and or call into customer service. Don’t listen to people’s random guesses.

Just hold, why would you re /up without seeing the full games list anyways?

      make them earn the sub.

    • “eductated guess” 😅👌

    • Same question!

Please, do not use PAL versions of the games in the USA.
People want the 60hz rather than the 50hz for a higher frame rate.
      PlayStation needs to fix this.

I get that the PAL versions had more language options and that’s great and all, but unless you either patch in languages on the NCST versions or the 60 hertz on the PAL version, we’re not getting the best options out there.

Please fix this PS. We would also need a resolution upscaler and a frame rate upscaller.
Having FSR intergraded into the emulator itself would greatly help in that regard.

    • CommandingTiger

Is PlayStation really charging THE SAME PRICE for Deluxe and Premium Services?

Really? Not to be offensive, but are you Insane?

300+ PS3 streaming is a high reason to get PS+ Premium, but about a dozen games, most old PS1 and PSP games (While I love PS is putting the effort in retro games, finally) and a few game trials is NOT Worth the extra $ jump from Extra.

Deluxe is an Absolute Awful Proposition. At best it’d be worth 10$ more than Extra but I would barely pay 5$ more.

You’ve got to care more about your customers than this Sony, Jim Ryan, Hermen.

There’s no possible Reasoning for this price for Deluxe.
      None at all.

    • when you log into your account, it shows you how much you will have to pay depending on your next renewal. For Instance , mine is due for renewal 9/15/22 and it says I would have to pay $15 to start my premium plus now, then on 9/15/22 I will pay the full $119

  • Hello,

It appears that some of the PS1 games are the PAL versions that run at 50hz, which results in poor performance when playing on modern TVs. Please fix this issue; let players download NTSC versions of PS1 and PS2 games.

    Please.

    Thank you

    • There really should be a toggle for this kind of thing. Even Nintendo does it. Seems like the only way to play these games properly without original hardware is by using a PS1 emulator on your PC, yet again.

    • So basically every game they lift off the psx classic and put on here then. They need to label the games at the bare minimum.

      Tekken 3 60hz = a gem
      Tekken 3 50hz = a turd

guess which one Sony served me last time?

    • And isn’t it funny that it is XBox that already has the emulator. Yet Sony can’t seem to do it on their own system… either that or they don’t want to, as it’s a money maker for them.

    • Uh oh. Well if they chose PAL versions before and didn’t switch/allow to choose NTSC versions, I really don’t think Sony will do it.

  • What happens if I buy a Premium subscription on a US account and live in Brazil? I’ll get the Deluxe version or won’t work at all? Since you’ll never allow us to change country in our accounts it’s something to consider, leaving behind my US account with tophies and games since the PS3 or not…

    • It will be available in your country ! Tier 1 tier 2 and deluxe will be available at all coumtries only u cant stream ps3 games and its coming for u 13 June 2022 enjoy and relax dont worry!

    • Do not buy it, wait for launch and see what Brazil actually can access.

Don’t listen to Hasan, he’s advising you to waste money on the most expensive option. If you are going sight unseen, with an american account you should go extra if you can make use of ps5 games otherwise the value is highly suspect.

  • Thank you for the new gaming additions. But when will y’all talk about improving the actual cloud service? For example, removing the 1000 item save limit for PS+. I am unable to cloud save all of my 1317 games. Also, please merge the saves of download and stream games. I have a save for when I play the download GOW and when I stream GOW. Xbox Live does not have either one of these issues. Thanks.

    • You have saves for over 1000 games?

I would probably back most of those up on USB device, which is good practice anyhow even when cloud exists.

      (except ps5 saves)

    • They will never accommodate fringe customer cases like this, this is the software “experts” Sony we are talking about here.

The fact we still have the ability to save on usb drives in any capacity is what we have to accept.

On the switch our(me and my sons) mario odyssey, breath of the wild etc saves are just ass cheeks in the wind if something happens, wish i could back those up on on a usb drive, we have over 1000 hours on odyssey and zelda alone.

i do know there is cloud saves with their shoddy service but i’m not paying for that for fomo saves.

Point being outside of PS5 (a dirty move by the way to push plus) you can just jump drive game saves, and that is exactly what i did when i traded my ps4 pro before christmas towards a ps5 and the moved all my saves over to ps5.

i respect you putting your request on the blog, but they will never do it.

    • I would also like an increase in number of save files as I also have a large number of game saves and while having USB saving is great backing up files is time consuming and if misplaced are lost forever.

  • The only upgrade that has been talked about is PS Now being equivalent to Deluxe/Premium, and it’s a no-brainer, but tens of millions of people are Plus-only subscribers and NO ONE has addressed how are upgrades to Extra or to Deluxe/Premium going to work!

Will upgrades cost a token sum? Are they going to be prorated? For how long? Will people be on the hook to the end of their subscription, which for some may be a decade from now, and will cost hundreds? I can’t believe we still don’t have any official word on this.

    • If it’s prorated until the end of the subscription, then I have years stacked and will definitely not upgrade for a very long time. It’d feel like punishment for being bullish on the service’s future.

    • “bullish on the service’s future.”

If you buy 2-10 years of a non refundable service to gain a huge cut price value swing, you are not being “bullish on the service’s future” you are just a speculator.

You are at the mercy of what Sony does policy and content wise.

You will have to wait until June 13th when the service goes live in NA and call into customer service.

Too bad you didn’t stack 10 years of now before they blocked it, but i suspect you already were speculating on regular plus.

the outrage of the now and plus speculators on these blog posts is delicious. 😋

    • They have spoken about upgrading and paying the difference. They have however not spoken about the time terms of the upgrade as in can you buy a month of the higher level then drop back to the one you have stacked.

  • I really want to know why Brazil doesn’t have access to Premium, the only package with PS3. I want to know why Brazil can never receive a full service. We have been begging for years for PSNow and nothing. Why can’t we get the same level of service as people in the US, Europe, UK, Japan? Why does Brazil only receive crumbs and half services? Why, Sony and @PlayStation, why?

I’m seeing a lot of people criticizing Playstation (for various reasons) and praising as well. On both sides there are valid arguments.
But I see a lot of “Brazilians have to thank for finally having PSNow available in Brazil” isn’t quite right.

The service was launched in 2014.
It’s been 8 years, almost 9, that @Sony @PlayStation launched this service that practically the entire Playstation community in Brazil has always asked and begged for.
The sony community in Brazil always asked and was always ignored. There was never an official communication from Sony or Playstation about why a service as cool as PSNow was never made available to us, or if they were working to implement it here.
And now, when we’ll finally get PSNow, we won’t get the same availability of options as other countries?

I know that in countries without streaming/cloud (i.e., that have never received PSNow before), there is PlaystationPlus Deluxe, with everything the Premium Pack has EXCEPT the cloud part and the PS3 games, only the PSOne, PS2 and PSP classics.

Yes, it was pretty cool upgrade of services and options 🎉 but, they announced the old PSNow for Brazilians without the “PSNow”. 🤡 Just changed the name and added some PS1/2/P games.

Many Brazilian customers and consumers of @Sony @PlayStation were asking for so many years the PSNow service precisely to be able to access the PS3 catalog in which many titles are loved and played until today, and we will not have that right.

It will be great to be able to play old classics from PSOne, PS2, PSP. Yes, this is a reason to celebrate, because nowadays many people no longer have access to old consoles and games.

But I would like to make some sincere questions to @Sony @PlayStation:
    – 1) Why won’t the most crucial part of the old PSNow, the cloud streaming with PS3 catalog, be made available in Brazil?

    – 2) Why, after almost 10 years waiting for the launch of this service, Brazilian customers will not receive the same version of the service available in other countries?

    – 3) Are Sony and Playstation working on offering us the full service or implementing the Premium package in Brazil at some point in the future?

I just wish I could play all God of War, in sequence, without having to buy the old consoles and games all over again or make use of piracy. Just one example.

I hope we get some official answer about this.

    • When you fire up Fifa and connect to NA players, that internet connection you experience is the reason you don’t get cloud streaming for games.

      Mystery Solved.

    • My players feel like they are in quicksand in those games.

For ps3 streaming here on my 150mbs urban connection for example, psNow streaming for a year of the service was consistently awful, and very noticeable even in slower paced lego games etc.

You really do not want any streaming games with South American internet.

Sony never delivered on it, and googles big play in Stadia is/was a massive flop.

The only games really suited to it are very slow paced or turn based, puzzle strategy adventure etc.

The god of war legacy on streaming is awful even on my excellent connection, i tried it.

The other thing with streaming that is not said enough is it is 720p resolution max with lots of compression and artifacting. Even Stadia on fibre has visual and latency problems.

I would let it go and take the Extra tier if you like the ultimate game list they offer especially if you have a ps5 (must be next to impossible to acquire there) as you will get the ps5 titles as well for the same cost.

The fifa comment is glib, but it is accurate.

    • Skeetlejuice I can see your point about I don’t be wanting a service with low quality internet, I can see the point about not having a service due to its minimum internet requirements.

But, can we see from another perspective? The quest is not about me not wanting. The questions is I don’t even have the option to buy it because the company doesn’t want to sell to me.

As an example. Let ME be the judge of that like… I’m willing to buy a service and I’m willing to buy a better internet connection for that service to works properly. If I don’t have the minimum internet connection that the service requires to work nicely, would be my problem. And that’s not the case since I’m willing to have a strong internet to play cloudstreaming without problems.

The big point here is still unanswered: why my country don’t have access to the same options as other countries?Seems like Sony and Playstation marketing team just doesn’t care for LATAM costumers.

    • CommandingTiger

PS Now streaming isn’t ideal tbh.
Some smaller games work really well, while others have input lag.
      Especially festival of blood.

    • Skeetlejuice is mostly correct but PSNow upgraded its streaming resolution to 1080p a long time ago.

  • If I subscribe to the Premium for a year and later I dont like it or change my mind, can I downgrade to the Essential?

Or I subscribe to the Essential for a year and later I would like to upgrade to the Premium, but for only a month, can I do that?

    • No one knows yet, but the tiers appear to be very inflexible and there’s no word on downgrades.

    • the prorated old PS plus cards I don’t see why they cant prorate your current PS Plus time.

    • I’ve been asking these same questions. No answers yet.

I predict someone will have to just try it and tell us what happens, we’ll all complain, and months later Sony will figure out that maybe this will happen to people and they need a policy.

    • They will not allow a downgrade that late, i got a full refund on a year of regular plus in january after 14 days.

They will absolutely sell you a more expensive thing, how that plays out for upgrades we will have to wait and see what the policies are, as these are new service tiers in a service “relaunch/rebrand”

i would thing logically you could buy a month for the higher monthly fee, or the year price the question you need sony to answer is the remainder of your sub put on hold(aka pushed to the end)or a prorated upgrade.

what you don’t want to do is just buy stuff day one, wait for their posts/faq and or call into customer service and ask your scenarios.

they need to show the complete game lists and the games being added for june anyways before anyone should be thinking of blindly paying them.

  • You are greates , i only we getting 10 games per month ps plus/ps now ! Have a nice day.

  • Can I stream PS5 games from a PS4 console? Sure I won’t have a DS5 controller but I dont need hepatic feedback.

    • No that’s not how it works

    • you cannot stream PS5 games full stop.

If you do PC streaming of PS4 you get 720p latency artifacting and compression.

You cannot play any ps5 content ala App with a ds4 controller (which sucks but it is what they have done) You can play ps4 games / apps with a dualsense on PS5.

You really don’t want to be streaming any games on Sony consoles, it’s a strictly inferior experience.

You would be surprised their reason for requiring sense on ps5 and excluding ds4 the triggers and haptics are often very good on first party ps5 games. For third party it’s wasted and i’d rather the ds4. the better controller imo. Also only Astrobot is truly exceptional for the dual sense.

    • The only reason they don’t want you streaming PS5 games is so you’ll buy a PS5.

    • I said cannot, not that it wasn’t technically possible.

They are running a business and are firmly in first.

They could do a lot of things, that they don’t. Crossplay on every title, drop plus requirement for online play.

      Enable ds4 controllers for ps5 games/apps

game trials for everyone or even just at plus essential tier

      the list goes on.

Of course they want to sell ps5’s

streaming even ps4 games in 720p on pc is ass, they have at least increased the potential to 1080 based on your connection.

I wouldn’t want to stream ps5 with latency, artifacting compression, stereo at best audio etc

What they need to do is get a decent relaunch of this service out the door they can improve on over time and make more ps5’s available.

I think it’s funny that your comment is like their business of playstation is some conspiracy that they want to sell playstations.

    • Ahh, if only they actually knew how to improve their streaming service instead of using technology from a decade ago that they didn’t actually make huh?

    • Skeetlejuice is mostly correct but PSNow upgraded its streaming resolution to 1080p a long time ago.

  • YaBoyFruitJuice

I don’t think I saw this specific situation addressed unless I totally misread/misunderstood something. I have both PS+ and PS Now. My Plus runs out in November and is not set to auto-renew, but my PSNow is set to auto-renew March 2023. Since I have PS Now, do I go to the Premium tier, even tho I also have PS+? Been reading that Now members go to Premium tier, but Plus members stay in Essential. So I’m just a tad confused.

    • If you are ps now user until march 2023 you will be premium until march 2023 lucky you 😁 i must pay 100euro and im gonna do that happily ever after 🙂 enjoy!

    • You will get the now upgrade until it ends, the renew will either be turned off or it will be renewed into a year of premium for full price. Your concurrent plus will likely just expire as scheduled with no actual benefits to you.

You should call customer service about it on/after june 13th and you should monitor your march reup.

Sony is more likely to just eat the over lap of memberships than separate them out and give you the months after march or upgrades etc beyond the only thing they have confirmed, now turns into premium.

Anyway you slice it you are going to not be paying over the odds.

Lots of slugs ramming 3-10 years of now to try to abuse before it got turned off, but Sony aren’t stupid, if you call in they will look at your account / history and help you out.

I have a psn account from ps3 psn launch era and they times i’ve called in they have helped me out even beyond policy rules returns etc.

    • Hassan, pick up a PS5 so i can at least feel like your evangelism is sincere, cutting the ps5 content makes plus extra/premium a significantly more dubious deal.

The ps4 content they have listed so for is the same old hat. Still with just the slim right, no pro?

Greatness waits and waits. oh wait i have a ps5 under my tv, #forthepayers

  • JonathanPerezPS

    We need the final list!

  • First thanks for responsible of the blog .
    Second I don’t comment much
    But have question please
In the second tire PlayStation Plus Extra I own PS4 do I allow to download games from catalog or it’s only for PS5 as now because if so I can download games from catalog so I will subscribe in it
    Please need answer
At last thanks for your hard work in the playstation blog all wish you success and progress and healthy and safe by god forever

    • If you have a PS4 and sign up for PS+ extra, you will be able to download and play all of the PS4 compatible content. Essential to Extra tier.

If you have PS5 you will get the most value out of the tier. I am waiting for the complete list of titles, the faq on upgrading / downgrading service etc before considering buying any tier. Even then i will likely wait for a sale/promotion and I have a PS5 which would afford the most possible value from the service.

Also ds4 controllers will not work for ps5 games but sense ones will with ps4 so keep that in mind for future purchase.

Also pretty certain god isn’t involved with gaming, or we’d have a lot better hardware, services and software than we do.

lastly you could get your answer pretty easily if you put a little effort in just on this blog alone, relying on random others isn’t the way. A lot of know nothings saying the wring thing on here as well like Hasan.

  • If I’m a long-time Canadian PS Plus subscriber who resides in Taiwan but subscribes using his Canadian account, should I just wait until June 13th and upgrade my account that way? I have no interest in streaming content anyway.

    • Yes wait for june 13th.

My brother in Japan still has the canadian ps3 i bought him and his canadian psn account.

It works that exact way, if you want Taiwan psn store content make a second account if you haven’t already made one.

Plus Extra for Ps5 owners (my situation) appears to be the highest potential value, we need to see the complete game tier lists and the june additions.

(we are getting screwed on our dollar and inflation more and more though, so you might want to consider a region change if you aren’t even here anymore) It’s getting bad, that and the tax charges on the psn thanks to the liberal trudeau government for all digital purchases.

  • Let us play our entire digital playstation library on ps4 & ps5

    • Yeah. I have ZERO interest in EVER streaming games from a Cloud Service. I have bought Playstation Digital Titles since Day 1. PS3, PS2 Classics, PS1 Classics, Etc… I’m not going to pay you MORE money just to Stream games I’ve already bought from you. Why can’t we play these on our PS4/PS5?

    • Good god no kidding. This company is so absurdly out of touch with reality. Because ya know, if you could play the PS classic games on a PS4 and PS5 then they would uh, oh that’s right, make more money on the selling of the products to people that don’t want their horrible subscription option.

  • Please list what PSNOW games are being removed?

  • The chart says Deluxe members will be getting access to the original PS2 catalogue while further down you say that Deluxe only has access to remastered or remake versions of PS2 games, with the original PS2 catalogue being streaming only.

    Which is it?

    • This is referencing that existing ps2 offerings you could already buy versus the stuff they are allegedly adding.

Most of this service is spit shine and moving things around from the old psnow offering.

I suspect they are being cagey about what the full games list are because it is on the meh side.

The really compelling offering is extra for people pretty new to Sony ecosystem.

Most of the “big stuff” has already been added and removed or was part of now or the in game collection for ps5 etc.

I had now for a year before and i had access to all this mediocre ps2 games etc they are referencing here.

We will have to wait till June 13th when they cannot slow roll it anymore.

Look at “mystic”’s playstation centric youtube channel as he is covering all this stuff in detail daily. Right now he has a video going through how all the psx emulation is working on premium.

Check him out he does a good job and he’s the only one that is very thorough and puts the work in himself.

    • The chart shows it clearly.

You get the downloadable ps2 on deluxe and premium.

You get the streaming ps2 on premium.

As i said prior we know exactly what those ps2 downloadables are.

Basically the actual new stuff is going to be premium tier for classic games, what they have said all along,

The question here further to that though is they have said if they make a classic game available you already have on your psn account psp, psx etc you would get that without plus. Will those titles be Premium required or will they fold those into deluxe.

if deluxe is a similar price to premium we should expect them to be rolled in. But this is Sony we are talking about.

Nintendo and Sony do weird stuff.

Microsoft has done backwards compatibility/ legacy right.

See on launch what the deal is.

I’m interested to see what things i have bought i can access without plus with my 2007 era psn account.

    • @Skeetlejuice what, MS’s bc is right ?

They let you play 40 games from the og XB and not even half of 360 games and suddenly they do it right ? You have a lot of brown on your nose man, so much that you cannot be taken seriously… Both companies suck at their BC feature. They really suck big time.

    • karmak

have another look at back compat.

i put my discs in on xbox and i play my old games

on sony and nintendo you are stranded full stop.

i never said microsoft does every single title released on xbox to now but you have to be an idiot to posture i’m brown nosing when you look at what xbox has done FOR FREE if you have your discs versus Sony in this case with its “classic” inbound PAL 50hz versions inbound on its most expensive ps+ tier. No support but shoddy streaming for ps3 and barely any games at all on for psx-3.

i don’t care if you want to act like i’m some ms shill, that also happens to have had every sony console and portable including the ps5 and a launch era PSN account.

Sony should have more respect for its legacy than it does, especially if it wants to monetize it at the premium tier.

but you go ahead and drink up the PAL koolaid my guy.

Meanwhile i could pop in my favourite 360 games in a newer xbox system and just enjoy them with no $$$ or bs.

yeah sony really wins this round, just like Tendo.

    • skeet

What are you doing, are you agreeing with me? Nice. Now please stay quiet.

    • This karma dude obviously has gotten some incredibly off the mark information about Xbox BC. But either way? Sony does it wrong. Either way buddy.

  • Будет ли подписка доступна в России???

  • I have two questions…

    1. I have PS Premium, will PS3 catalog given to me through the service be able to be downloaded on my PS3?

    2. Digital games I’ve purchased in the PS3 store like Final Fantasy XIII, Fight Night, NCAA 14. Will I have access to those games on my PS5?

Thank you very much in advance for clarification. 🙂

  • There should have been a lower tier with online multiplayer access and cloud storage for the ‘Essential’ quarterly price per year. I guess THAT was the tier too many… It’s what I’ve been waiting, hoping and pleading for since PS+ became mandatory for online gaming (even though I feel it should be free like on PS3, let’s say I’m willing to pay a small recurring fee for the security and whatever upkeep for online multiplayer — but don’t push a completely unrelated digital service on me to push up the prices on top of it) and this was the perfect opportunity to introduce it. That way you could get extra profits from people subscribing to higher tiers, and finally provide the opportunity to disgruntled people who just want online and want to see that reflect in their options and available choices. Sad enough that Microsoft, the new kid in the console industry, runs it now and you all follow suit.

    • That new kid was the one who introduced paid online, you forgot to mentioned. MS is no kid, he is more like the old guy who hangs around parks in search of kids…

    • karmak

really the pe do analogy on microsoft?

Xbox live offered a real compelling service with great games utilizing its features.

it was never a rip off back then, and if you yourself wasn’t a kid and had cash you could have bought an xbox, live, and games like halo 2, crimson skies, mech assault, top spin etc you would know enough that it was the best console offering by a large margin.

Nintendo wasn’t interested in online even in the gamecube era.

On PS2 sony made you buy a expensive network adapter to play socom and final fantasy 11.

People like to blame Xbox for the price, but it’s Sony and Nintendo that stole the price and forgot the service and features part.

And none of these businesses will go back to “free online” if you want that you need to go on pc or mobile.

Always the know nothings like Karakaroo on the blog.

    • No one made anyone buy a network adapter kid. If you weren’t a kid back then, you would remember. Online play was a gimmick back then, and there was the supply to offer that, if that was what you wanted.

Compelling service my $$.. They were hacked and they were down exactly like Sony. Problem was that you paid for services that were down…

How’s that for knowlegde my friendly karakaroo? I don’t even care for online gaming, i never do multiplayer, i have no interest on it. And yeah, i own all of the platforms.

    • That tier should be the free one.

    • Oh and no. Microsoft didn’t offer jack worth paying a fee for. Yeah nice work allowing that to be standard. Really, thank you so much.

    • @kakariko

So why did they sell a network adapter for ps2 you had to buy my guy?

Kid hardly, i think it’s funny someone who self admits in the same post to not playing multiplayer that multiplayer is a gimmick.

for you and sid, people will not buy something if there is no perceived value, and the fact is xbox pushed a paid online service to massive success in their first attempt.

You guys both are likely in your 20’s little wii and ps3 kiddies but if you were actually an adult when this stuff launched with you know an actual paycheck then you would appreciate exactly what the systems and games were when they were new. Not years later as hand me downs.

online and on sony and nintendo should be feee, but it aint and it is never going back, so suck it up ir don’t sub.

You want to come up with your own services, oh wait you don’t have a gaming company. Just play on oc or in Katatatanas case he just doesn’t plug in the rj45 cable anyways (not that you know what that is, kid)

Online is not a gimmick, you don’t see the value 20+ years later no one cares, MS are the service innovators, Nintendo the hardware innovators, All Sony does is copy cat and spend $$$ on third person single player games.

Xbox live on xbox back then was light years beyond, buying a sony network adapter for socom and ff11. I was there unlike you pretenders.

I was there when mario 3 came out as well and all of the modern stuff. So many fake blow hards online that can’t back up their bs.

    • @kikirikoo, the network adapter wasn’t just a network adapter :”). Japan based companies offered a wide variety of accessories for things we westerners consider crazy, a network adapter which doubles for a HDD reader back then was a gimmick, at least, for the vast majority of people.
All things that went wrong with the industry came from the need of consoles to go online. Buggy games, huge day one patched, cheaters, downed servers and their live service games, all this crap came from the godsent “services” MS brought to the console market. Multiplayer for console owners back then was a niche market, people just did not care. They just didn’t care about the OG XB and it’s faulty capacitors or it’s small life span, they just couldn’t care less. They invested in a system with 150+ million units sold cause they only cared in a marvelous piece of tech single player games. Twenty years later, that still is the case for the majority of people, that is why XB1 tanked in the previous gen and nearly went off the market. Their TV nonsense and their DRM crap. Their crap hit the fan so hard and fast that MS whiners had to buy PS4s in order to keep gaming, hence you here. MS had to invest in some consumer friendly features, such as a handful of games being compatible. Well, i’m not impressed by neither Sony, nor MS. If you are easily impressed with bananas, that is your problem. And why this all “ad hominem” on me? There is no point talking to a brown nosed self painted green kid. So what if you had a paycheck, you clearly skipped school to get it LMAO :”)

  • I renewed my ps plus in April 2022, so is there anyway to upgrade from essential to premium or extra? If not, that doesn’t make sense at all those who just got memberships recently they shoud get an upgrade too with some amount

    • From what I understand you can upgrade but your year of regular ‘Essential’ PS+ will obviously amount to less days on higher, more expensive tiers.
It’s launching in Asia now so I’m sure we’ll read all about it.

  • I’ll get the Premium. Right now my only big question is how long the games will be available. I want to play Death Stranding, Ghost Of Tsushima, Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and more… It will take time to swallow all that and I don’t like rushing.

    • Exactly, the time limit is another reason these services don’t appeal to me, other than the random choices of games and downloading or streaming them. Hope for y’all they stick around long enough to not have to rush it :)

    • Then why don’t you buy them on sale for the really cheap prices they constantly go for instead of paying for this ridiculous service?

    • Extra has a lot of potential for people that don’t have a lot of the first party and will finish games in a week/weekend.

If you take the year the initial first party stuff will be up for awhile as Sony needs to draw people in, much like the PS5 plus in game collection only this month lost one of it’s ten games in persona 5. There was time to beat every game if you wanted with some really meaty ones on offer.

Really cheap prices they go for is a stretch and so is constantly on sale. Very hyperbolic. Only base valhalla has been sub 50% and ubi is bad for ripping its games into shell and complete aka gold, guardians has been half and the sony stuff hasn’t hit half yet for what you listed.

Just wait till June 13th and decide with complete information. Besides not like we need to sign up day one, the onus is on Sony to make the service compelling.

    • I look for game sales every week. I’m not being hyperbolic, you just don’t know what you’re talking about. The complete edition of Valhalla has gone on sale TONS OF TIMES. You’re really starting to come across as a complete wannabe intellectual.

  • I have some game requests for The service. Final Fantasy Crisis Core (psp) remaster with trophies, Kartia (psone remaster with trophies) and Vandal hearts 1&2 (psone remaster with trophies) wouldn’t mind more armored core games and king’s field etc. also dirge of cerberus (ps2)

  • So is the basic Essential plan losing access to the Playstation 5 PSPlus Collection then, as this seems to now be listed under “Extra”?

  • vindication8994

Is there a reason with the PC revamp that we still can’t use anything but a dualshock4? I was looking forward to a hopeful update allowing dual sense use. Otherwise, hopefully please tell me you’ve updated so I don’t need the USB dongle anymore, it’s extremely annoying to have a controller that supports Bluetooth but be unable to use it unless wired or with that dongle to play wirelessly. If nothing else please start making the dongle again so when it breaks people aren’t getting price gouged looking for it

  • So it’s either twice the price or more than Xbox’s gamepass? And if I don’t want to upgrade I lose access to the collection?

How does Sony keep doing this…

    • Gamepass is 9,99/month and Ultimate is 12,99/month so in total a yearly subscription of PS+ is the same if not cheaper option.

    • Any ps+ game like the collection once you add to your library, you can continue to access as long as you have plus.

Just add them all to your library now. Then it doesn’t matter what bait and switch they do or don’t on June 13th.

In fact you should have downloaded Persona 5 as that already got yanked.

If they want to shift those games into Extra to pretend there is more value, whatever. But they cannot stop people with PS5 and plus from adding them now. Avail yourself.

  • so last nyt watch a streamer he had asia access think & some games not all my opinion ps plus is a better service now but don’t like this rewind & forward feature instead playstation should have had hdr on old catalogue & better fps & could have drop while you on subscription get a 10% discount on any game from ps store but I will defo try playstation extra

  • will ps4 games on extra get a graphics boost & fps & would have bin really cool when play ps1 get boot up logo ps2 & ps3 logo sony this can be done & will rest mode trick work on ps plus where you just pop out of any game & put ps5 in rest & turn back on later where you left of pretty sure it will??

  • My PS Now subscription expired shortly after they pulled it from the store so I was not able to renew it. Now I‘m stuck with 2 years of PS+ Essentials. I really hope there‘ll be a possibility to upgrade.

  • a_unnoted_person

will streaming ps3,ps2,psp,ps1 games be available in more markets like australia in the future?

  • Amazing how you were able to destroy a pretty good announcement of a new suscription in ASIA with the absurd upgrade path for current PS+ suscribers. Charging back the discount?! Only allowing full upgrade instead of partial? Insane! Those users who stacked are those most loyal who spend a good amount of money upfront (within the PS Storefront!) and now they want to upgrade and you provide an incentive for not do so?

This scenario should have been foreseen before launch. If you were aware and still wanted to proceed, its completely unbelievable. I hope you realize the wrong in this and backtrack. Doing this in more regions would be an beautiful way for the most loyal users to hate your new suscription and invite them to not use/try it. It counters all logical thinking.

IF you did not wanted users to stack discounted suscriptions, you should have thought for a cap at that moment.

This was so easy…, god. Let people upgrade partially, do not re-charge the discounts. And add NTSC Games, not PAL

    • People upset they cannot get a crazy deal after stacking 3-10 years of service is just what they deserve.

You wanted a too good to be true deal and it was always at the mercy of Sony’s policies and content practices.

      Caveat Emptor.

They do not care about the alleged “brand ambassadors” that racked up stacks of discounted subs trying to cheese into the highest tier.

The same kind if customers that scalped ps4’s in the past and are actively scalping ps5’s to profit and get a free ps5 for themselves.

I do agree Sony should have put caps and shut things down, and they did with now etc to which people whined over that as well.

Oh well guess you have what you have and if you want to upgrade you have to join the rest of the audience, you know paying a fair rate, or passing on the service tiers.

    • That’s why you don’t stack. Or do other foolish things.

  • Im cancelling my game pass now 💀

    • …..For what? Do you seriously not already have all those games? What were you playing all this time?

  • livelybutton494

But what if I already have PS plus and PS now? Will I be put on the highest tier?

  • As a PS Plus & PS Now subscriber since day one I can confirm that streaming PS3 titles is the worst way to play these games. The PlayStation 3 library deserves a serious effort by Sony to resolve these ongoing backward compatibility issues once and for all. Enough with the excuses. Get it done already.

  • how to play the ps plus streaming on pc?

  • Dear Sony,

If you decided to strip me of my discounts I will be forced to cancel all subscriptions, as per contractual agreement.

    Yours truly,

    The other party

  • wanted to play ps3 games but i guess ill just play them for free, with an emulator, and them not being streamed

  • I’m quoting the Fourals website

“Sony is effectively canceling the discount with which users subscribed to the PS Store. In this case the difference increases and essentially any privileges that existed due to the discount are lost. Practically this means canceling any price reductions made in the past for the PlayStation Plus. Logically, in this case, the system does not count properly, the time remaining, but the amount that was given for its acquisition.”

  • Should I sell games like demon souls, red dead redemption 2 and horizon zero dawn now that they are a part of the extra layer? Or will the games list get refreshed?

    • NO! because you are renting them under PS+ Extra, not owning them unlike your current physical copies, regardless if you remain subscribed indefinitely.

    • and as Tik said and has always been once you add to library you have access if you have plus. I was thinking of now which this was not the case, so once they confirm that you will have all the time you want to finish games you add.

    • That would be insane! Full blown insanity. Just like paying for this mediocre service.

  • Let’s just hope that they should not mess up the Playstation classics section because if it’s running on the PAL versions (European and other international territories), I’m going to to be sad. Games that released on the PSX needs to have a NTSC region named that is released in North America.

  • Question about the Premium/Deluxe.
When I created my account on Plus I was in the USA. Now I live in Australia and I continue to use my US account as all my thopies are there and I really don’t want to start from zero.
    What’s happening in my case?
If I decide to go to premium, I I’ll get the Deluxe perks?
And the second question: when Sony will allow us to change our freaking accounts to a new country???

    • You will get the Premium Perks, however the PS3 cloud games would, most likely, not work very well (too much lag) or not work at all due to the distance with the servers.

    • call customer service on / after service goes live.

    • Think you’ve unfortunately answered your own question. If you want to continue with your old U.S. Account (understandably with your games library),you either choose to buy the US premium 12 months on that account,(not sure how the ps3 streaming will fare from down under & our slower internet),or buy the deluxe tier on your Australian account.
Daresay you’re already aware to buy any dlc on your U.S. games from that region psn as the Australian store is tied to the EU PSN store & will only work with Australian/EU bought games.
All a legacy of the old PAL/NTSC territories unfortunately that’s never been updated. On one hand,at least we can play the games, but annoying as heck you’re still tied to your original region if circumstances cause a move.

  • “if the content is no longer offered on PlayStation Plus, you won’t be able to access the titles when they leave the service.”

This is what a feared, just like Game Pass, a rental service with an arbitrary policy to remove games from the catalog locking the downloaded file out of your system when that leaves (regardless if they warn you in advance). This creates unnecessary anxiety, to play and finish the game before the title is removed from the catalog. If it was like the traditional PS+, where the claimed game sits in my library indefinitely until I find the right moment to play it, I would definitely upgrade.

Speaking of “upgrades”, all this info and no mention on the upgrade fees for current Essential subscribers.

Hard Pass, I’ll stick to the Essential plan as “the blackmail tier” to play online multiplayer.

    • held to ransom online tier

i’m seeing a lot of bs in regards to policies and content so far.

They are not being forthright on a lot of things that really matters to us their core customers.

I will not sign up for extra (the only tier i have interest in for PS5) until i have complete information. Likely not even then and maybe not until a traditional days if play or holiday style discount.

If all ps+ are now now games where they vacate the service that will put me off it entirely. I’d rather stick to just buying the games when and how i want, or on a steep store sale.

These services are not all they are cracked up to be especially people seeking to play the best stuff.

  • Will we be able to purchase the classic games on there own?

  • Sony please let indonesian gamer play claud streaming game, i really want to try it

  • Why isn’t it much bigger news that they are planning on remastering or remaking PS3 games that you can download to your console? It’s right there and not a single person has mentioned this. Wild stuff if we get some PS3 games ported over. It even says the PS4 will be getting them. It’s in the chart and in the text of “remastered”.

    • arthur_f_pereira

I think they’ll include the already existing PS3/ PS2 ports and remasters, as seen in the Asia catalog ( with games like God Of War III Remastered and others). It is really saddening the treatment that these games are getting, as classic PS3 and PS2 games will be only streaming ( PS3 I can kinda understand because of PS Now, but PS2 was surely sad to see…)

    • Never going to happen.

  • Still no support for Dualsense in PC… Disappointed
I want to play streaming games in my PC with my Dualsense!

  • I hope they have good games for PlayStation Plus premium!!!

  • I just purchased PS Plus on 8 May 2022. Will my subscription be affected when this new system launces in June?

  • Lakerss2020CHAMP

If the US region has the PAL versions of the ps1 games. I will be unsubscribing from ps plus premium.

    • does the us playstation classic have pal games?

here’s a hint, they are all ass. We will be getting the sad tiny list if games with the majority PAL just like what’s up in Asia now.

      Riiiiiiiiidge Raaaaaaaaacer!

  • Once again the communication on the new tiers & the upgrade costings therein for existing subscribers has been a dog’s breakfast.
By the time it launches Down Under region in late June I’ll likely need to pay 7-8 months of the monthly ps plus deluxe cost if I wanted to trial the uppermost tier available here (Deluxe). Straight forward enough,if annoying,so be it.

However IF reports emerging from Asian users are accurate, two unused ps plus 12 month codes I’m waiting to redeem (picked up last year Day’s of Play & Black Friday discounts in Bricks & Mortar retail stores),rather than converting to the advertised 191 days conversion table will also require an “upgrade fee”,of their original discounted amounts when bought on sale?🤯
Potentially then even a straight 12 month conversion to ps plus Essential would still require this gap/upgrade fee? That you’re punishing existing owners for buying your subscription when they were in your own promotional discounts?
Also at present the deluxe tier appears well short of the 340 ps1/ps2/psp titles advertised.
Not a great way to encourage people to upgrade….feels more like the Horizon Forbidden West upgrade fiasco.
For heaven’s sakes can you just stop with the dodgy fine print tactics & be upfront with your customers?

    • Definitely greasy in your case. I suspect the clamp down on sub stacks and upgrades is because they saw exactly what was happening with the clamour to abuse the now upgrade, and we have seen the steps they have taken.

Sony clutching at their purse strings. They should just allow one or two years grace period for people to get a fair upgrade / stack their existing codes etc.

Your scenario is exactly the honest customer being punished for what doing what they wanted, buying a year on promo.

All the rest has been a dogs breakfast. I find it hard to trust them from policy to game content and even with complete knowledge june 13th i will wait and see for the NA canadian rollout.

Forbidden west greed and then back peddling isn’t something you forget either, and it takes me back to when sony sold online passes for used games.

Days of play this year should be a big deal, and it’s not. No ps5s very little physical games and accessories and no plus / now deals (obviously)

Not very much excitement for any of this and honestly they could be generating that.

good luck with your upgrades, hope they treat you fairly when you call in.

  • Due to discounts I have purchased 2 years of ps plus member ship
How Will I opt for premium. Will they charge me whole amount or adjust money I already payed for 2 yrs
