  • Might want to fix Ape Escape 2 on PS5 if you’re going to offer it.
    Its unplayable.

    • Totally unrelated, but every RPG fan needs to play Rogue Galaxy and Dark Cloud. I might splurge for Premium/Deluxe just for them.

    • @Coco that’s true, Ape Escape 2 is currently the only game I only play on my PS4 and not PS5 because of this. But I’m very excited to see the original is coming!

@yentair I don’t like RPGs but I got into Dark Cloud when I had a PS Now trial long ago. I bought both games when they went on sale again.

    • Yentair, those games are ALREADY available right now. See this is why i hate this list, they are making it seem like some of these games aren’t already available.

      Ape Escape 2 | Japan Studio, PS4
Arc The Lad: Twilight of the Spirits | Japan Studio, PS4
Dark Cloud | Japan Studio, PS4
      Dark Cloud 2 | Japan Studio, PS4
      FantaVision | SIE, PS4
Hot Shots Tennis | Japan Studio, PS4
Jak II | Naughty Dog, PS4
      Jak 3| Naughty Dog, PS4
Jak X: Combat Racing | Naughty Dog, PS4
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy | Naughty Dog, PS4
Rogue Galaxy | Japan Studio, PS4
      Siren | Japan Studio, PS4
      Wild Arms 3 | SIE, PS4

Are ALL ALREADY AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW. You can literally buy these games at this moment.

    • That’s the first thing I thought of as well. Wonder if they did any work on getting some of these playable on PS5. Ape Escape 2 being a notable one.

    • CommandingTiger

I’m impressed. It’s already looking a lot better than the initial talk.
I’m glad to see you’re taking feedback and I’m not talking to a wall.

You might also want to look at what Nintendo is offering with DLC in their Expansion Pak. While that price for N64 games is a complete rip off, adding the Mario Kart 8 DLC looks very enticing.
That could very well be a venue you could explore especially if you’re planning to make 10 live service games.
Having Day 1 multi-player games on Extra could prove to be vital to it’s success, and ongoing DLC keeps them entertained enough to be subscribed, they might even buy it later making even more money.

You are already offering character packs and items on the Essential, but the Extra and Deluxe/Premium could offer more substantial DLC and full Multi-player games rather than just skins, cosmetic and items.

I do think there are improvements needed for online multi-player. PS3 had PS Home, PS4 had increased friends list, better voice chat and Communities. PS5 has…. No communities, no PS Home.

I miss PS Home. I wish it would come back. Everyone is talking about bringing back PS Home for VR, that would be cool but I still want to enjoy PS Home regularly like before.

Anyway, keep up the good work. Don’t loose hope and keep fighting for a better gaming future.

  • Thats it?? Really thats all the classic games they are offering will i be able to download any of my PSP games i own or Ps1 games or only the ones u guys will list if so this new service is nothing new they added NOTHING to it… What the hell was the point LOL PS PLUS really going to SH8T

    • Reading is hard.

Literally the first paragraph says some of the games.

    • My brother in Christ, don’t skim through the paragraphs if you’re going to criticize something. It says in the second sentence that these are SOME of the games.

    • Even if it says “some”, this is a really poor selection to list. People were hyped for the classic library and Sony isn’t doing themselves any favors with such a crappy preview. They literally only have 2 third-party publishers listed for PSX. They didn’t even list 4 games from 4 different publishers.

    • @Gekidami Why does that matter in the context that the service isn’t even available yet?

It’ll be one thing if there was a pre-order bonus however there’s not so there’s really no consequence for them waiting till the last minute to finalize the list

  • Thats it?? Really thats all the classic games they are offering will i be able to download any of my PSP games i own or Ps1 games or only the ones u guys will list if so this new service is nothing new they added NOTHING to it… What the hell was the point LOL PS PLUS really going to SH8T

    • CardmanOfficial

It’s not all the games, it’s only a selection of what’s going to be available. There will be more than this, they said it in the post

    • So from what people are saying its the same trash service it was before LOL HAHAHAHA U stil lcant play the ps1,psp,ps2 titles u already own from the ps3 lol SCUMS!!!

    • can you read before calling people scumbags? “Also, players who have previously purchased the digital version of select games from the original PlayStation and PSP generation will not have to make a separate purchase or sign up to PlayStation Plus to play these titles on PS4 or PS5. When these titles are released for PS4 and PS5, players can head to PlayStation Store and download a version for the consoles at no extra cost if they already own the digital version of the title. Some of the titles will also be available for individual purchase. “

    • Read “second” paragraph on “Classic Games Catalog”…it says if you own some of these games digitally on older consoles you can play those classic titles on “PS4/PS5” at NO cost via stream (pretty sure the library will grow since the SONY team are archiving older games as we speak.)

People really need to learn to read carefully.

    • I really hope they add SOCOM games the line up and add online multiplayer abilities!

Like SOCOM 2 & SOCOM Combined Assault with online play would be amazing since Sony refuses to remaster these cames on the PS5 with online play 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

  • Please tell me there’s more classics than just these being added, cuz atm this isn’t worth 120 a year. it’d be cheaper buying a refurbished PS3 and all the games I want

    • these are the new titles currently not available via PSnow. Also to add, every game available on PSNow will be available for Deluxe/Premium.

why add games to PSNow this month if they are getting removed in a few weeks.

    • CardmanOfficial

It’s not all the games, it’s only a selection of what’s going to be available. There will be more than this, they said it in the post

    • CardmanOfficial you are replying to every single comment that express disappointment… how much do they pay you? I want in

    • CardmanOfficial is one of the few peoples that can read, the other one’s only look at the games and say it’s a disappointment… while they say its only a selection of the games. here they did only announce 130 games but there will be 700+ games on the service…

    • “SONY” has a New team that are archiving Original PS1, PS2, PS3 & PSP games.

as we know, “SOMY” still got to talk to those developers because of expire “licensing” with those dev.

    • …dislike auto correct.

    • CardmanOfficial

zirocrath, they don’t pay me anything haha, it’s what thom25maxi2 said, i just actually read the post properly instead of blindly criticising

Yes, I’m underwhelmed by the selection, but I KNOW by READING that there’s more to come.

    • i just got PS5 so idc to take a loss & trade my PS4 in for a PS3 & handful of games. Not saying service sux as they said they’re adding more BUT i digitally OWN splinter cell, hitman collection, RATCHET and clank 1-3 & least 20 more games (rockstar p2 games) & have aproxamitly 40 pysical games such as gta4, rd redemption (which is ONLY PLAYABLE on ps4/5 thru streaming) resistance 1&2 & curious why only 3rd installments available?) & ther is a comic book store & non chain game store 5mns from my house & PS3 games range from $2 to $10, DEFINITELY gonna wait, curious & loved PS1 but not sure id really play those if theres CLASSIC PS2 titles, not thrilled w/streaming PS3 & have large PS4 library & all new PS5 games on horizon
PS3 REALLY DOES SOUND LIKE GOOD IDEA AS I LOVE “MOVE” GAMES & STIL HAVE SET UP 2PLAY HOUSE OF DEAD 2-4/OVERKILL, TIME CRISIS & 2 RE LIGHT GUN GAMES BUT ALSO WANT TO PLAY G OF GALAXY, DEATH STRANDING, G OF TSUMA, VAHALLA, RETURNAL, SO JUST GONNA BE PATIENT & SEE HOW IT PLAYS OUT

    • What is like to know is if you will have free access to any PS1 Classics, PSP, Minis, which you’ve “purchased” by way of the free monthly Plus titles offered, back on the PS3/PSTV. Sony had offered quite a few of those in the early days of Plus. And some heavy hitters, including, Crash 1-3, Spyro 1-3, Resident Evil 1-3, Syphon Filter 1-3, CTR, Oddworld 1& 2, Tekken 2, Hot Shots Golf, Um Jammer Lammy, Castlevania SOTN and Chronicles, Jet Moto, Warhawk, and more… I assume these are included as purchased PS1 Classics, since they are still associated with your PSN account, but I’d love to hear an official statement from someone about them. I’ve asked in a few different places and haven’t seen any replies.

    • Yea,theres no ps3 wrestling games.

  • I’m all in!

  • I think, these are the biggest titles. Not impressed

    • CardmanOfficial

Why? Wouldn’t you want the big titles to be on it? Or are you after more niche stuff?

Either way, this is only a sample of what’s to come. This is not the full list

    • Can’t wait!

    • I think he’s saying that if these are the biggest titles that they are showing on that service than it’s disappointing list. Highly agree on the classic/premium list

    • They were preparing themselves for years to have a more worthy subscription service, and you think that’s it? that’s all they can give? then search for your mind, I think you’ve lost. PlayStation teams are full of surprises, don’t expect them to show you all their cards from the very beginning, cause that’s just not professional.

    • Sure they are. Also, the list is still not even a complete list. I’m quite happy staying with the cheap tier since I already own most of the best PS releases as physical disc games, and I have nearly 800 free games attached to my Plus account.

    • Exactly.

  • *** This title is available to PlayStation Plus Extra members as part of Ubisoft+ Classics. Access to Ubisoft+ Classics games is a benefit for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members. 👀

    • CardmanOfficial

      👀

    • “The Ubisoft+ Classics catalogue for PlayStation Plus will launch with 27 titles and will grow to 50 by the end of 2022” and they list the 27 launch titles on Ubisoft’s website.

The full version of Ubisoft+ that includes day-one releases will also be coming to PlayStation in the future.

  • Ok ! Definitely a real interesting offer ! Gonna take that PS+ Premium day one

  • The “Classics” Collection hurts painfully.

  • Some good stuff here, but the selection of PSOne, PS2 and PSP games is DIRE. Very disappointed.

On a positive note, the fact that some PSOne Classics will be playable WITHOUT PSPlus if you have purchased them before is great news.
Hopefully that means that the PS5 system software has some kind of built in PS1/PS2 emulation?

Then we can download and use any PS1 games we own digitally?

    • Yes you can indeed, and keep in mind these are only 120-130 games, they would add 700+ on release

    • from “rumors”, PS3 selection is only selection thats NOT downloadable, streaming only?? Thats just what i hear majority of YOUTUBE channels i regularly watch. ANYONE FEEL FREE TO CONFIRM/CLEAR UP AS IM CURIOUS MYSELF 🤞🤞🤞

  • my opinion new ps plus is better than gampass congratulations sony listen to the ps5 Community but one thing some old games should look better & fps boost it can be done it if xbox are doing this count me in sign up for ps plus premium

  • I’m confused. did you merge PS+ with PS Now and then remove over half the PS Now games?

    • No, most of the games still need to be announced this is like a small portion of them

    • Anything that’s not slated for a delisting will still be available.

  • This is a pretty awesome lineup of games to feature for launch.

For everyone saying that’s it, the opening paragraph literally indicates this is some of the titles only. They’ve likely only indicated the most popular ones but there’s obviously more than this.

  • pulsera-personal

Yo tengo muchas ganas de probar el PS Plus premium y jugando a los juegos clásicos siempre y cuando haya trofeos yo tengo mucha fe de que será.posible

  • There will be an option to try the service before I subscribe? Like a 14 days trial or something? I would like to test the streams quality, before I pay for a year

    • CardmanOfficial

I imagine so, the current PS Plus has a trial. It would be kinda silly if Sony removes the option for a trial

    • I can see it being a free weekend trial of highest teir the week it goes live.. So people can see what’s on offer and if it works for them

  • Oooooof this is VERY poor. The constant stalling for time should’ve been indicator enough but THIS is what you guys came up with to take on Game Pass? I’ll stick with essentials, the games on offer here are all the standard “safe-bets” and the fact that Sony refuses to come up with a solution for backwards compat for PS3 that doesn’t require streaming is insane. There are people online right now doing this for free with emulation, with results that actually improve the base experience of the games in regards to frame rate and resolution. If some randos online can put this together and into a workable state for so many, Sony can 100% solve the problem. I don’t buy the BS excuse of “The complicated nature of the PS3 architecture makes it too hard”.

Do better Sony, Microsoft are snapping at your heels and with Game Pass shining a light on how poor a service PS+ really is, you need a win.

    • The only problem is that sony needs to put a good working thing that will not crash to much, harder than you think, they have a responsibillity and ” some randos online” don’t. but you have a point with that microsoft can do it,

    • 🤣🤣🤣 nahhh…I have game pass it’s not good there’s more indies than anything else on there and they are bad. Really bad not fun games out of 100 games I’d say there’s maybe 15 playable and that’s being nice. Atleast u have all kinds of games on here and even if they are old they are still fun to play. I’ll take that all day over indies. And they will keep adding to it. This isn’t the total list it’s just some games. Come on now. It’s total is like 700 games does this list look like 700 to you.

U realize Xbox is giving away their games for free bc that’s the only way they will sell. Or anyone will play them. Most of them will be trash. Ps doesn’t have to do that. Bc they bring constant fire weather it’s a new installment or a sequel. They sell most of their games.

    • I’m not a huge fan of the Netflix (Game Pass) model.. the idea of removing games is not something I like. I also don’t really need, or even want, to play a game on release day. With the state of most games these days, they are often either, incomplete, full of bugs, or both. So it’s best to wait a bit. I guess that’s why I prefer Plus (Essential). I now have 755 free games attached to my account, which will not be swapped out, and I only paid an average of $1.20 a month, for online play, auto save backup, and more. I’ve stacked up enough years of Plus codes (at $28/year) to last me until 2028.

  • wow talk about disappointing. This library needs help

I’m glad owners of PS1/PSP games retain ownership! But what about the PS2 games I also own from PS3?

  • that’s it? ps2 and psp have more than 6000 games and this is all you can offer? sticking to that regular ps+.

  • liar_of_partinel

Everyone saying anything along the lines of “that’s it?” needs to go back and read the “this is a selection of the games that will be available” disclaimer. Obviously they’re putting their best foot forward with this blog post and picking the most exciting games to list here, but there will be other games available beyond what’s listed.

    • If these are their most exciting games, then “That’s it?” is still a very appropriate response.

  • Why is there Russian language on the blog and Polish is missing?

  • Can you please clarify if Bloodborne is going to run at a higher FPS/resolution? If that is the case, I will subscribe to the necessary tier right away.

  • As some seem to lack the skill to understand text I’m gonna add this here:

“Below is an early look at a selection of games that will be available” Note ” a selection of games”, that means NOT ALL games.

  • This looks like a confusing and underwhelming mess.

  • Will the games in Extra be mine to play (as long as I have the service) even when they leave the catalog?
How do I upgrade from Essential to Extra is I have 15 months? How much would that cost?
Will there be a complete list of games for each sub?

  • AllKnowingAnorak

Marvels Spiderman or Marvels Spiderman Remastered?

  • So ya no.

Remove ps+ as a requirement for online play. If you’re going to expand, its time to get off this trash Microsoft level crutch you’re leaning on for your services. As cross play becomes more prominent, im playing more on pc these days and besides trophies have little reason to play on playstation. Part of that is so I can divorce myself from ps+. Zero value beyond cloud saves. Waiting for your curated collection each month month is pointless 90% of the time, as I own it thanks to a sale or own it because I had to have it day one.

Other tiers sound cool, but I want to know is will I be able to buy these games. For some of them if purchasable, like tekken 2, will I be provided with an upgrade path for my ps1 classic. Ultimately I love my ps5, so give me a reason to use it over my ps3 which I’m forced to leave hooked up.

Quit trying to rope me into a subscription model. Its a bumb deal like paying 2000 dollars in rent each month, might as well buy the damned house at that point.

    • TY must have accidentally scrolled past this:

“Also, players who have previously purchased the digital version of select games from the original PlayStation and PSP generation will not have to make a separate purchase or sign up to PlayStation Plus to play these titles on PS4 or PS5. When these titles are released for PS4 and PS5, players can head to PlayStation Store and download a version for the consoles at no extra cost if they already own the digital version of the title. Some of the titles will also be available for individual purchase. “

    • Even cloud saves has given me issues now that I’ve reached the cap limit. No, not the 1000GB, but rather 1000 game files. They don’t tell anyone with large collections that you can have only 200GB of space used up, but if that 200GB is from 999 + 1 seperate files then too bad, you can’t upload saves anymore. It’s ridiculous. Just like arbitrary caps on previous trophy levels, PlayStation is spectacularly slow to update this piece for their most invested customers like me, who can’t even upload save files anymore.

  • CardmanOfficial

    Not the remaster unfortunately 😕

  • As suspected, 90% of the games listed have already been on PS Plus in the past as freebies. I see absolutely no reason to upgrade at this point. I buy most AAA titles day 1, and I have no desire to stream PS3, PS2, PS1 games. I have a working PS3 and the other two can be played on my PC via emulator. Zero value for me. Thanks for making my decision easy SONY !

    • ElectroFunkNinja

It’s only ps3 that are streaming the way I read it. Ps1 and 2 are downloads.

    • keep in mind this is only a collection of the games coming

    • yes, most ALL of the games are in my library from PS PLUS already, have ps5 so im bout to just trade in my PS4 & get used PS3 as i have grew LARGE downloadable collection of ps1/ps2 games PS3 games & own ALOT of physical PS3 games & thers comic book store & small v game store 5mns from my house & can pick up PS3 games from $2-$8, i dont have emulator but own majority of games worth replayn imo & mostly be busy with new PS5 games on the horizon, i feel ya

they quickly pulled 2 twisted metal games & few others from PS-NOW & are only available to “buy” for $20 bcuz they got upgraded to 1080p… LAME, NOT AS IF THEY REMASTERED IT

Interesting that under the add comment button it says “don’t be a jerk” yet that is exactly what Sony is being regarding game trials!

Trials should be free to all or at least on the essential tier! Basically each new tier added something, whereas long time subscribers get nothing. In fact those ps5 owners lose games from the ps+ collection I read.

Either sort out your refund policy similar to steam or make trials available to all. Right about now I’m thinking of cancelling my subscription.

  • Huh, unexpected but it would be nice to own the first Ape Escape on PS4. Does that mean 3 will come to PS4 as well? Maybe we’ll get an Ape Escape 4 finally?

I also find it interesting Killzone: Shadow Fall and Knack II aren’t listed. June’s monthly games for Essential tier perhaps? I’d be happy about that.

    • Or maybe these are also in the ps plus extra tier but not mentioned yet, but your idea sounds also logical

    • curious why RESISTANCE 1 & 2 have always been absent & RESISTANCE 3 has always been available, i like 1&2 better but 2 wouldn’t include its huge multiplayer mode (for the time) anyhow but would like to replay 1 & 2

  • Some good games here, but I am missing the Metal Gear series. Please add them too.

    • maybe they will be there, this are not all the games coming on release, only a portion (120-130 of 700+ are here mentioned)

    • i would think they’ll get added but dont wanna show there full hand yet, BLUEPOINT GAMES is sopposedly remaking MGS1 from ground up but that will be $60-$75 game obviously

  • Can you at least work on a way to play streamed versions of the PS3 games I already own by just inserting a disc and then granting access to that streamed game, without a subscription? Until you can find a way to implement full BC on the PS5.

    • yeah, i took a HUGE LOSS of games by getting rid of my PS3, now that i have PS5, about to yrade in my PS4 to get another PS3

  • This huge day one ps plus prenium

  • Not the most exciting list so far. But I am actually shocked to see Gravity Rush on it. Can’t believe Sony remembers it.

  • Will there be trophy support for the ps1 ps2 and psp? Also the ps3 games that never got trophy support? I feel like I’m wishing for a lot here

  • Even without 3rd-parties this is a strong offering. Top stuff

  • This is excellent Sony, very happy consumer and I’ll be signing up!!

One request please get me some metal gear solid to play

  • So it’s Sony’s gamepass… What happened to all the PlayStation gamers saying that it isn’t a good business model but now are celebrating it? xD

I also imagine we will loose the Ubisoft games soon as they signed a deal with Microsoft for gamepass

    • Also as it cost a little more than Xboxs gamepass I assume that all first party games will come straight to this service day one? If not this is a huge rip off

  • kirllos_e_naguib

So if i have 11 months left on my current ps plus, how much would it cost to upgrade to extra for example for the rest of my subscription?

  • First, thank you, Sony, for agreeing to recognize my previous digital PS1 and PSP purchases. Y’all should have done that for PS2 games too. This is a good step forward. Now, please talk about how you will improve the service. For example, cloud saves for cloud streaming and local play are separate. I have one save for streaming GOW on my PC and another for playing it locally on my console. The should be automatically sync. Xbox does this. Second, there is a save limit on PS+ of 100GB and 1000 items. Please remove the latter. I have over 1300 games and can not cloud save all. Thanks.

    • I don’t remember what i ate the first Friday of the previous month, i really do not expect neither you, nor everyone to remember in what state your game was, 1000 games ago.

Let alone that 1000 saves of games nowadays are well over 100GBs.

    • No save is 100gbs…. game files yes not save files.

And yes they should lift the amount of save files

  • 😩Sorry but no Starhawk/Warhawk is a no upgrade for me 🥺😭

  • So any PS1 Classics that you previously own from PS3 and any digital PSP games you bought on Vita that gets added on here I can download and play automatically without the use of a sub? I can get down with that. I will never sub for the premium so that works for me.

  • Where’s the PS2 games they said will be part of the collection?

They said “A catalog of beloved classic games available in both streaming and download options from the original PlayStation, PS2 and PSP generations”

Where the heck are PS2 games? You are launching the service without games from the best console Sony has never sold?

    • This list makes me wonder if they only plan to release put PS2 games that are already on PS4 on the service.

  • I’m disappointed to learn that this is the best service PlayStation could muster.

  • Great list for PS5/PS4 titles right off the gate and I’m tempted to upgrade to the EXTRA tier if the price is right (no Premium, as I’m not interested in the classics because I have all my old PlayStation consoles in mint working condition and my legacy library is vast). The problem is, as always, I own almost all of their initial PS5/PS4 offerings either by buying most of them and having the plus version in my Plus library already as I’m a Plus subscriber since the beginning. But it’s a good star, though.

  • I800-GetWrecked

It’s interesting to see that at least for PSP and ps1 there will be enhanced performance and rewinding. Makes me wonder if this can also be applied to ps2 and ps3 or if there’s some native emulator inside already.

    • That’s very interesting indeed. I’m hoping for anti-aliasing with PS2, fixing the framerate issues on the Jak games etc. PS2 games are largely already 60 FPS so they don’t really need the boost.

  • nathan_croft_97

Please make a Syphon Filter remake

  • Awwww, no Sly Cooper?? No Metal Gear??? I really hope they get added soon, so far I’m still undecided as to what tier I’ll get.

  • Please build online servers for Coop PS1, PS2 and PSP games at least.

I would like to play Resident Evil Outbreak with my friends…

    • More will come this’s just a Showcast of First New Game in New ps plus

    • As cool as that would be, especially since I’d love to be able to play Ratchet 3 online again, I don’t see that happening.
