Details on player experience improvements, upcoming patches.
Dear Gran Turismo Community,
Thank you for your continued support and feedback on Gran Turismo 7, your voices have not gone unheard. I would like to apologize for the frustration and confusion caused last week with our patch updates which resulted in, not only a server outage but also adjustments to the in-game economy which were made without a clear explanation to our community.
We know that this is not the Gran Turismo experience you expect and we will be making a goodwill gesture in the form of a non-paid credit pack of 1 million Cr. available to those players who may have been affected*. You will see this hit your accounts shortly. Make sure you log into the game before April 25 to claim the credits.
The patch update previously deployed was intended to rectify an issue with inconsistent reward payouts within a part of the World Circuit Events. But, to re-establish the intended equilibrium and provide more accurate rewards based on time investment and completion, it was necessary to recalculate the rewards system as a whole.
To improve the player experience, we will be rolling out a considerable patch in the beginning of April. The number of events will be increased, and we will reestablish the reward system with greater balance throughout the game to benefit all players.
Updates which will come into effect beginning of April:
- Increase rewards in the events in the latter half of the World Circuits by approximately 100% on average.
- Addition of high rewards for clearing the Circuit Experience in all Gold/All Bronze results.
- Increase of rewards in Online Races.
- Include a total of eight new one-hour Endurance Race events to Missions. These will also have higher reward settings.
- Increase the upper limit of non-paid credits in player wallets from 20M Cr. to 100M Cr.
- Increase the quantity of Used and Legend cars on offer at any given time.
Beyond this there will be a few additional patches deployed between now and the end of April which will add new cars and course layouts and make some other fixes.
Finally, we also want to take the opportunity to lay out some of the near-term updates we are working on. We can’t confirm an exact date or specifics yet, but will give advance notice via www.gran-turismo.com.
- Increase the payout value of limited time rewards as we develop as a live service.
- Further World Circuit event additions.
- Addition of Endurance Races to Missions including 24-hour races.
- Addition of Online Time Trials and awarding of rewards according to the player’s difference with the top ranked time.
- Make it so cars can be sold.
We want to thank you for your continued patience and valuable feedback as we grow and evolve GT7 to make it as enjoyable and rewarding for as many players as possible. We always want to keep communication lines open with our community so that we can work together to build the best racing experience possible.

Great start. Can’t wait to sell some cars. Screw the microtransactions…. want my money? Expansion career mode. I want to start in a little dirt track and work my way up. Or maybe I take the street racing rout and start my journey there.
Anyways thanks for the apology of sorts. You still have some work to get my loyalty back. You are my all time favorite franchise and that hurt.
I’ve have spent 100 on this game to enjoy it and with all the updates I still can’t play the game, I’ve done all the steps to fix the game, but it still freezes and crashes my pay. It’s the only game that does it. Why hasn’t this been addressed yet. I’m so disappointed I’ve own every playstation that’s been released but never have I had a game that freezes and crashes everytime I play it. I own the digital copy and I’m probably missing out on certain car buys. Please can anyone give me clarity on when this will be fixed?
They are just trying to protect the curb appeal of this drab in game, live services leveraged sweat-fest.
This isn’t about existing customers, it’s about the veneer for prospective buyers especially when it goes on sale and they want to soak the goodwill of those players on the shop mobile game experience.
It’s a pass for me, i’ll be playing it for free from my library (they do ps5 games) and maybe in a few years i’ll pick it up for $10cad like i did gt sport, i just wish i hadn’t traded it back in for the $10 plus tax at gamespot because it is the better game. gt7 is recycled sport from in car to tracks and cars.
$90cad for the scam, even with this proposed patch is too much. No rtx in game, why did i even get a ps5? when you compare it to forza horizon 5 it looks remedial. Always online, the lame minimum roulettes. the cafe with jpegs and text and the stale music. the bogus review embargo ps to hoodwink everyone.
I will not support this for more than $20 even if it comes good in a few years. It’s embarrassing from a flagship series for Sony with the pedigree it had. after GT4 basically where it went off the road. Do not buy.
This whole blog post/update pretty much amounts to nothing. I’m surprised people are falling for it. How does anything in the update actually fix the issues the community have raised?
1) They’re giving us 1,000,000 credits as an apology for the game not being playable for over a day. How does this fix the issue? There is no reason a game like GT7 should even require an online connection in the first place for anything other than the multiplayer component. (What they should be doing is making the game playable offline)
2) Increasing the payouts in the latter half of the world circuit by 100% just fixes the issue where people were grinding the earlier events as they paid out more for the time spent compared to the latter events. It doesn’t seem like they’re planning to undo the changes made in 1.07 around overall payouts. You’re still earning about half the credits you did when the game was first released. (What they should be doing is increasing the payouts of all events back to their pre-1.07 equivalents AND applying additional increases to the latter half of the world circuit to reduce the need to grind earlier events, so overall we should be earning more credits compared to the launch version of the game)
3) They’re not reducing the amount of credits vehicles cost, nor are they increasing the amount of credits you get for real world money. So DLC cars still cost exactly the same with the more expensive cars working out between $40-$200 of real world money. (What they should be doing is giving you about 10x the credits you currently get for real world money, so the more expensive cars would end up in the $4-$20 range)
4) They’re ‘increasing the quantity of Used and Legend cars on offer at any given time’ – notice that they’re not increasing the time these cars will be on offer, so the FOMO effect is still exactly the same as it was before the patch. (What they should be doing is removing the time limit entirely, this game should not be using people’s fear of missing out to lure them into spending real world money, if there’s a legendary car someone wants, they should be able to work towards getting it without spending additional real world money or the fear of missing out. It’s an extremely scummy business practice and has no place in a game like GT7)
Eventually we’ll be able to sell cars, but we don’t even know if they’ll make it worth doing. I can’t comment on this until they implement the feature. But based on everything I’ve seen with this game so far, I’m guessing they’ll make sure trading in your vehicles isn’t worth doing.
Overall, I feel this update fixes none of the issues the community have raised. It’s just clever PR spin around changes they were likely planning to make anyway.
1) YES! An online connection requirement for SINGLE PLAYER games are NOT ACCEPTABLE. I wish could get a refund for this game. I do not want to support developer who makes games like this.
