  • as someone (an idiot) who bought control for ps4, then never played it waiting for the ps5 version.

then bought it AGAIN for the ultimate edition on sale, because the original ps4 version wasn’t going to get the ps5 upgrade

i am absolutely LIVID that now they’re just giving it away for free at launch.

This entire games marketing has been sketchy from the start and this is fantastic icing. 505 games will never see a dollar from me again.

    • I’ve stopped buying games for now. Between PSNow and PS Plus, there is plenty I want to play each month without having to spend more.

    • In case you weren’t aware, 505 is an awful publisher, and I would never buy anything from them anywhere near full price.

    • At least you realizes hahaha.

    • I agree I purchased the game while it was on sale it’s seem as if this is becoming a habit with PlayStation plus, I have practically everything else so I will welcome getting the Concrete genie free it was also on sale before they offered it for free. I’m just saying

  • So how DO we get the ps5 into our library, when we can’t get a ps5 from the shops?

  • This is the first month in a good long while that I didn’t own any of the freebies. What a month!

  • I appreciate that Control will be part of PS Plus, but I’m really bummed since I bought it when it was on sale and haven’t touched it yet since I’ve been waiting for the PS5 version to come out and I didn’t bother playing the PS4 version because the PS4 saves won’t transfer over. I doubt they will give me a refund since I bought it during the Black Friday sale on PSN.

  • Control is an amazing choice. I always considered buying it but never got around to it so I’m happy with that. Destruction looks like “we want the Fortnite money” which is a shame because the whole losing your car idea is neat.

  • Call get a refund. I just did. I never downloaded it though. 1/27/21 2pm
    Bought it on 1/21/21

  • Looking forward to Control Ultimate. Beat it when they put it on PSNow a while back but not the DLC and definitely not with upgraded PS5 graphics. Can’t wait.

  • 2 solid months in a row! Even though I’ve platinumed Control, did 2 playthroughs, and bought and played through all the DLC… I’m still looking forward to playing through the PS5 version because I love the game that much.

I’m not too interested in Concrete Genie or Destruction All Stars, but I know my 11 year old son will be. I appreciate the variety these past few months

  • I’ll be damned that this is a quite a solid game lineup for February 2021! I always wanted to try to play Concrete Genie, glad I didn’t have to spend any money on it. I’m also curious about Control as well.

    • Just bought Control. Its not too bad. I’m not too far into it yet. So far its okay. Story is kind of crazy , I’m still not sure what is going on completely. 😆

  • I had Concrete Genie on disc and sold it for the digital version when it was on sale, FFS!

  • This is an incredible month, wow!

    Excited to try All Stars.

I brought Control UE in late November for the PS5 upgrade 😅 but happy for those who didn’t get it yet!

Concrete Genie is also a great game.

  • Hey I just recently purchased Control Ultimate Edition from the big sale this month, that’s a low blow to offer it on sale then make it apart of plus. Will you guys do anything like you did with Maneater?

    • I just posted same thing. I got burned on Maneater too but wasn’t compensated. I just bought control ultimate the other day too.

  • Trash games bro I swear

    • Trashier comment.

Look, I’ve been a huge critic in the past of PS+ games, but since the PS5 was released this seems to have been corrected. Sure, there are occasions when people will already own the game, have recently purchased or its on Playstation Now. It’s impossible to please everyone, but trash talking for the sake of trash talking is just extremely childish.

      These are still good games.

    • No, no two of these games are genuinely fantastic. Not overhyped, but objectively excellent.

  • I literally just bought Control: Ultimate Edition the other day. This happens to me alot. I buy a game and then boom, its the free Playstation plus game. Happened last month with Maneater also. Can’t catch a break…..

  • This is the first time in over a decade since PS4 and PS+ being mandatory for online that I like the selection! Don’t own any of them, PS5 game included, and both Concrete Genie and Control was on my list of interest but probably wouldn’t get around to getting them anymore. I might actually download these for a change!

If everyone month was this good I wouldn’t be as bummed about PS+ being mandatory for online gaming.

  • Control and Concrete Genie were good, unfortunately I platinumed both last year (looking forward to the Control add-ons though 😁). Destruction all stars wouldn’t tempt me to part with cash but I’ll have a look at it.

  • What people are missing in all of this is that Sony has gave people with PS4 2 games and those that have a PS5 2 games as well💯ninja approved🥷🏽

  • Like most people on here, I too have purchased Control when it was on sale during the Holiday Sale and to find it for free in February is really disappointing. I even contacted Sony Support Team and they said if it’s after 14 days of purchase they can not issue a refund. I mean what’s the point of even buying games through the store just to have them turn around and give it out for free in a month. Even the game details says the PS5 version will be released in February. I just feel it’s a huge disservice to use as loyal gamers to do this all the time, I can understand if it was a few months later but not the following month to first have it on sale and then give it away for free through PlayStation Plus.

  • Well… I wish I’d saved the money and not bought control earlier this month… 😑😑😑

    Otherwise, great selection!

  • Anyone else feel the massive discount on Control for the holiday season was bait to get people to purchase it before they decided to add it to the ps plus collection. I bought it on Jan. 6th and downloaded the game but haven’t played it yet because I was waiting for the ps5 upgrade that was due to release in early February. I’m guessing they won’t refund me. I mean Sony had to know that Control was going to be a ps plus title before the sale right? It takes some time to write the agreements/contracts with the game studios to make the game available on ps plus and not to mention the marketing. I feel like I got scammed.

  • Got a refund through the chat, i did not play it but did download, they told me it would be a one-time thing. Everyone who bought it should try and get the refund

    • Too bad consoles don’t let you refund based on playtime still eh? If less people bought games at the usually undeserving full price, they would probably start doing that as an incentive.

  • I’m actually really happy with this! I’m a fan of Control but didn’t get to play the DLC. Ultimate edition!!!

I’m hoping this is the PS+ Renaissance we need.

  • This is by faaaar the best month in a very long time.

  • Nicest lineup that I have seen for a long time now not sure if it has been months or the whole year of seeing a nice lineup of quality titles.

  • Does anyone know if I download the Control UE for PS4 via playstation+ will I be able to in the future upgrade to the PS5 version when I get a PS5?

    • This is one of those situations where it gives you access to both versions. I would HIGHLY suggest waiting to play it on PS5, because 30fps caps are evil.

    • Yeah I dont plan on playing it till i get the PS5 i just wanted to know if i download the PS4 version that I would also have access to the PS5 upgrade in the future

  • Yup. I bought the game this month but I got denied a refund even though I never played the game. Feels like they scammed us by giving us a fantastic sale price for the game the month before it was set to become a free ps plus title. I feel like they got me good. I didn’t want to play the game until it got the ps5 update but I didn’t want to miss out on the great $20 deal.

    • Control did not sell all that great, you should expect it to go on sale for 20 dollars very often.

    • same here We should get refunds for this man-eater got a refund because it was then offered for a PlayStation plus game and we should get a refund as well and Sony should stop having sales for games that they intend to give away immediately as a PlayStation plus title.

    • Eeeh?…fantastic sale price?…$20?…for control?…I wonder what is your definition of fantastic…lol maybe you should reconsider what’s a good price for a sale depending on the game, may spare you to comment next time saying Sony used a “bait” on you haha.

  • The only game I’m interested is Destruction All Stars, didn’t care for Control and the other games sounds like Mickey Mouse game had you use a paintbrush.

  • Glad I waited for Control it was tempting bc of the sale 😅

    • Yes Sony shouldn’t have sales for things that they intend to give for PlayStation plus it screws over their customers!

  • Woah glad i didn’t buy Control last BF. And i’m pleasantly surprised its actually the ultimate edition instead of just the standard.

Never heard of destruction all-stars. Is that kinda like Twisted Metal?

  • Dang! This is another good month! Keep it up PlayStation! I just bought Control: Ultimate Edition not to long ago during the holiday sale but that’s ok!

  • Way to go, Sony! Probably the best month ever for Plus!

  • Two more games I can download but don’t have room for. They really need to turn on the feature to allow us to install 3rd party NVME SSD in the PS5. Release the minimum specs and let people go buy the SSDs.

Sure I can delete stuff, but eventually Comcast is implementing the data cap. It’s been put on hold for my state until August. Still, I’d rather have the game installed and leave it. Or give us the option to move our PS5 games to the external HDD and utilize that as “Cold storage”. Can’t play the games, but just store them.

    • Yeah uhh, I really wouldn’t worry about the data cap. It’s tremendously overblown how much people are getting upset about it.

But yeah, Sony put a paltry hard drive in the PS5.

  • I cannot condone Destruction All Stars’ monetisation scheme. First of all, it’s not a free to play game. Second of all, it’s supported by the PS+ community and SIE directly. Third, it’s just really shitty to lock content behind a paywall. Lastly, everything should be unlockable via in game currency. When you redeem/buy this game, you’ve paid for every piece of content on the disc. Just because other players in the industry abide by these shady practices doesn’t mean we should agree with them coming from first party (or first party adjacent) projects.

  • What a great month. I really wanted to play Control and was about to buy it. 2 months in a row that PS Plus gives me games I actually wanted to play. Concrete Genie also looks really cool. Keep it up Sony!

    • Most people are looking forward to play control but Concrete Genie like you most say something like “that looks ok too”.You’re already wrong there…also shows the state of the gaming community.

  • Oh my god, Sony actually did something truly impressive for the first time in ages. Miracles do happen. I wouldn’t expect the trend to continue of course but, that is NOT bad. Control, right on.

  • This is REALLY disappointing. I just bought Control on sale, it’s now 19 days, refunds is only for 14 days. I never opened the game, never downloaded. I bought so I could play on my PS5 on launch day. No EVERYBODY else will get the game at the same time as me, but for FREE.
I should probably cancel my PS+ subscription, ’cause the free games are 1. really bad (like Man Eater), 2. so common place everybody already have it, 3. New, but I have it too.

That was bad faith, put a game on sale knowing it was going for free a couple of weeks later, at launch date. Really frustrated.

  • Didn’t expect Control, awesome!

  • Wish I had PlayStation plus

  • Not bad actually…. But I wonder when the expandable M.2 SSD will get Sony’s approval. I am stuck with about 258GBs on my internal non-removeable SSD and that I don’t have an option to add new games (except for removing them of course).

  • Can we also get Bloodstained like for Japan please? Thanks.

  • This was just sold in your sale a few days ago! Please give people who bought this in your recent sale a refund! Having sales for games you intend to put on PlayStation plus is not consumer friendly. You recently refunded people who purchased maneater because it was then offered as a PlayStation plus game you should give a refund this time as well. Stop having sales for games that you intend to give away for free on PlayStation plus days before you give it away!

    • Oh yeah, yeah Sony stopped caring about being consumer friendly the moment they decided to make the PS4 have zero backwards compatibility. Quite some time ago.

  • The lineup is good but in the next month please add uncharted the lost legacy

  • This line up is only on us and uk region?
    What about asia region?
In asia region control is not on ps4?

  • Wow. Bought it in the holiday sales couse it has been release the ultimate edition not so long ago. And want to have it for the ps5 upgrade to play it… and this, this is not cool.
Have downloaded but never played the game. Hope sony make something bout this, couse lot of people do the same for the same reason and now its free..

  • I wish every month could be this good.

  • I always wanted to try Control. I was gonna buy it but still haven’t even played Days Gone! I am so far behind.

Now if Sony could give us an update on when they will execute all the scalpers/botusers and actually get some ps5’s into stores, that would be swell!

  • Truly great month…can’t put in words how awesome it is to get Concrete Genie on Plus although I feel a lil bad since it definitely deserves support (was waiting on a sale, sorry Pixelopus lol).Control is a game I would never spend any money on,game looks dull as hell plus made by lame remedy no less thats why it’s in the limbo of ma doubt zone, getting it on Plus is just perfect and the UE to boot damn.Y’all been doing mad awesome choices for the lineup recently…Vampyr,Greedfall, control…what’s next?…The Sinking City?…that would be nice haha.

Curious about how Destruction AllStars will do…maybe it’ll be the 1st popular online game of PS5 maybe not, game has potential hope they know how to use it.

  • Only one game interest me this month. The other two not so much

  • Great game selections for February! Unfortunately, I purchased both games in December. What are the odds I purchase both of the PS+ games?

  • Nice lineup! I hope Destruction Allstars becomes a stealth sequel to Sony Allstars Battle Royale and we get classic Playstation characters as new characters or skins DLS further down the line. This game could become a nice Fortnite-like platform for Sony properties. Don’t thank me for the idea just run with it.
