Release Date Updates For The Last of Us Part II, Ghost of Tsushima

Both Naughty Dog's and Sucker Punch Productions' PS4 titles will launch this summer.

As our teams at Sony Interactive Entertainment and Worldwide Studios approach development milestones and confront a world changed by COVID-19, we find ourselves having to adapt to today’s ever-changing environment. Amidst some disruptions to our working styles, we wanted to provide an update to PlayStation gamers who are eager to learn when our next exclusive titles will arrive to PlayStation 4.

As we begin to see an ease in the global distribution environment, I am pleased to confirm that The Last of Us Part II will arrive on June 19. And Ghost of Tsushima will follow on July 17. 

I want to personally congratulate and thank both the teams at Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch Productions on their achievements, as we know it’s not an easy feat to reach the finish line under these circumstances. Both teams have worked hard to deliver world-class experiences, and we can’t wait to see what you think of them when they release in just a few short months.

And finally, I want to thank the PlayStation Community for their continuous support and patience.

    so…. they pushed back GoT back just so Last of Us could have it’s release date. Kind of sucks, I’d have preferred to have GoT first, more excited for that than I am for The Last of Us Part 2 a game of been contemplating skipping for awhile.

    I’ve still not seen an actual gameplay video of ghosts of tsushima outside of the very curated cinematic “gameplay” video that’s been shown at E3 and gamescom. When’s the demo and/or additional footage coming? I wanna see the UI, menus, etc…

    I made the pre-sale but since they removed it from the store I looked at the library it kept showing me dated May 29, the problem is that they did not return the money and now they put it back in Check the store and the poster appears as if I had not made the purchase

    So Im confused I still have the original date for the preorder (May 29) and it still has the countdown for that date but when I check the playstation store it says I dont have it purchased? I havent got any refund nor any emails talking about this I still want to keep the game but I dont want to buy it again :/

     I never received my refund from when they last pulled the game down and now it is back up for preorder that i would have to buy agian. Thanks to the shutdown there is no one i can call to fix the issue either.

    Whenever I preordered TLOU2 I never got a refund when sony pulled the game from the PS store (not saying I wanted one) but now today when the game was put back up on the PS store it is saying that I needed to repurchase the game or “preorder” if you will. So what do I do now that you guys are “understaffed” and are “Not helping customers” over the phone or anywhere else. I need to know as a person who put their trust in you and paid good money before even knowing what this product would bring ahead of time. Please respond ASAP. Thank you.

    I am so ready for Ghost of Tsushima!! It’s going to be amazing!!! I have been eagerly waiting for it to release; and to know that it’s almost here?! It’s absolutely unreal! I’m so glad that my PS4 arrived in the mail today!!! This is going to be my game of the year!!! Even though I have to wait for July 17th to get here, there are so many great titles for me to sink my teeth into; until that very day. Bring it on Sony and Sucker Punch. I’m ready.

    So, you basically support censorship… Deleting my comment on TLOU where I was only saying that the spoilers were god sent saving me money and saying that Ghost of Tsushima will be still great no other details, will not make the game sell, this will fall bad and it will lose money and probably will kill ND. Now, stop censoring everything trying to hide the reality and don’t act like China/ communism since the comment is not infringing the Comment Policy.
    The initial comment topic was, TLOU will be very bad, not wasting money, no one should if they loved TLOU 1 and looking forward to Ghost of Tsushima.

    I preordered the digital game on october and now I don’t see it in my library as a purchased game. In the store I see the option to preorder it again, but I haven’t even recieved my refund. It seems I’m not the only one with this problem here. Can you please give us an answer? Thanks.

    Sony , is there any reason why you cant release GOT digital version on the promised date of 26 June. Then whats the benefit of pre-order, paying in advance if you end up getting the game same time as someone paying on the same day. At least give us the pre-order digital copy a week in advance.

    My The last of us part 2 has not refunded yet because of the corona virus, now what should i do? Because I want to purchase the game and pre order it again, the game is still on my library and it says it will lunch on 30 days later but the new release date version on psn says it will lunch 52 days later!
    Now i want to ask if the game in my library time of release would be the actual release date of the game, not the old one (Cuz I didn’t get my refund yet).
    And also make me not to pre order it again.

    Still waiting for that email, PSN message, and refund, lol. I wanna pre-order it again but I’m not sure if I should wait or just buy it again. It’s been almost a month. Someone at Sony should address this and say what’s going on. I’m not the only one waiting. My Ghost of Tsushima pre-order was updated, but it’s telling me to buy TLOU2 again. My Cyberpunk 2077 pre-order doesn’t even have a countdown timer and it has a download option. This stuff needs fixed. It worries me when things aren’t right…

    Heh…. Everybody has to move over for Naughty Dog. The spoiled brats always get what they want and everyone else has to wait. Sucker Punch were right on schedule and ready to go while Naughty Dog sat in the background milking the hype as much as they could. Once someone finally got pissed off and leaked, then Naughty Dog didn’t get to play like they wanted to so now, Ghost of Tsushima is just the back-up plan, I’d be furious to be treated like that, you’re just second string even though you were on schedule ready to go, Sony’s Poster Child gets what they want, when they want it. That’s how Sony views and appreciates you Sucker Punch, you’re the sloppy seconds.

    So the countdown and the game is missing from my PS4. The only evidence it was ever there is the Notifications I get from the Last of US Part II Community. There is no email explaining anything or asking if I would choose to refund or keep the game, it’s just gone. There is no refund either. What can I do to get this fixed? The game was purchased using a Christmas Gift Card in January. I Never wanted a refund or asked for one. So why has this happened?

    Can anyone here confirm this will include collector’s editions as well? I pre ordered the CE on Amazon way back in September of 2019. Amazon still shows release date of December 31. They are the only place that hasn’t changed the date to the confirmed June 19. Wth???
