PlayStation Store: August’s Top Downloads

Firewall Zero Hour debuts at #1 for PlayStation VR in this month's PS Store charts — congratulations to the team at First Contact Entertainment!

Welcome back! First Contact Entertainment’s tactical PS VR team shooter Firewall Zero Hour debuted at the top of the PlayStation VR downloads chart for August 2018. On the PS4 side, Madden NFL 19 took the top spot, followed by Guerrilla’s open-world masterpiece Horizon Zero Dawn and our old pal Grand Theft Auto V. The prophecy foretells that GTA V will continue to sell decades from now, long after the sun has imploded and left our galaxy a cold, lifeless void.

If you want to play any of these games before that happens, head on over to PlayStation Store to pick ’em up. Have a lovely day!

  • Great to see Firewall on the top for VR and a good sign considering it came out late in the month. If you have VR this game is a must have. It’s an absolute blast and very immersive.

  • Hell yes, Firewall!

    • Yeah, Firewall Zero Hour is as close to Rainbow Six Siege as any game I have tried in PSVR. Playing Firewall with the Aim Controller is a joy.

Things can only get better for PSVR from here right?

  • Yes! I’m glad Firewall is getting a lot of love. I hope the community and developers continue to keep that game running strong because I’m having a lot of fun with it so far.

  • Great to see Firewall at #1 on VR but the rest of the charts are sad. No Persistence on VR charts and the PS4 chart is very bad. Where is Yakuza Kiwami 2? Dead Cells? Guacamelee! 2? Overcooked 2? How did none of these chart?

    • Out of the ones you listed I got Firewall, Guacamelee 2, and Overcooked 2

Can’t get them all. Don’t have enough time to play the games I do get. For instance so far still haven’t even played Guacamelee 2, but I have gotten time to enjoy Firewall and Overcooked 2.

  • Never in 30+ years of gaming have I been so sold on a new experience with such paradigm shifting potential. 100% the showcase that VR is a gaming staple. This game is incredible with the potential to be a true turning point for VR and full of the most intense and memorable moments I’ve ever had in gaming. Now, I’ve tried many other avenues, so I’m leaving a comment here in hopes the Firewall team will see: The community needs an update/acknowledgement about public matchmaking with a squad. Matchmaking takes upwards of 20 minutes to find players. I would hate to see a community crumble because of this. The buzz is the same online in the numerous matches I’ve played: the community wants feedback. This is a crucial time to garner the input of the most active audience members in support of your game.

  • WipEout Omega VR is simply fantastic, the long-awaited PSVR game that needed it after the critical flops of sloppy The Inpatient and Bravo Team from Supermassive Games and Ark Park. It is especially the general realization of the game which surprises: the graphics, the special effects, the feeling of speed, … everything is mastered, to wonder if one is well on PlayStation VR! Maybe this is the most emblematic game of what the VR can offer, even if other games already prove the phenomenal interest of this techno.

  • I mean I like the concept of Firewall but I still feel like they just copied Rainbow Six Siege and made it a VR game. Still will buy it but I will always like the original aka siege way better
