Gravity Rush 2 Demo Out Tomorrow

Greetings and happy holidays, Gravity Rush fans! We’re less than one month away from the launch of Gravity Rush 2, and I’m thrilled to bring you an update on some of the high-falling action that’s headed your way before launch.

First and foremost, we’ve previously mentioned Gravity Rush Overture [The Animation], an original production by famed anime studio Studio Khara that bridges the gap in story that takes place between Gravity Rush and Gravity Rush 2. I’m happy to announce today that the anime will be available for all to see on YouTube starting on December 26 at 8:00 AM Pacific. Please take a look at the teaser below for a quick glimpse of what’s to come:

Last but certainly not least, we wanted to leave you with a special surprise leading into the holidays. Several of our PlayStation fans have told me they’ve been itching to get a taste of Kat’s new adventure before the New Year, so I’m happy to announce that the Gravity Rush 2 Demo will be available to download from PlayStation Store starting tomorrow, December 22.

There are two paths through this demo — one for those who are new to Gravity Rush, and another for those that are more familiar with Kat’s powers — so no matter your level of gravity-defying experience, please be sure to give it a shot!

  • TAKE MY MONEY!!!!

on another note after free DLC:ark of time: ravens choice. will we be getting more DLC’s? will there be a season pass. will the DLC be standalone mission or be a part of the game like Gravity Rush 1 DLCs?

  • I can’t wait for this game and I could list all the things a loved about the demo, but instead I’ll list things that I think might need improvements or patching.

    1) I’d really like to be able to adjust the camera zoom. I have the feeling that the FOV was even better adjusted in the tutorial clips that display the game mechanics. Camera needs to be adjusted or the players need to have options to adjust the camera themselves.
I also had the problem of the camera clipping into buildings while fighting. This sure will get annoying.

    2) Would be really cool to have a lock on function similar to the 1st game or and improved one. Too often I missed my target in this demo with gravity kicks. By the end of the demo, I didn’t even bother to gravity kick, using the gravity field made more sense and made the gravity kick redundant.

That’s all complaints I have. 2 complains for the DEMO is a very good result in my eyes. Although, I have cons only listed in this post, I have to admit, that the number of pros is way superior.
Can’t wait for the actual game to be released! I really hope that the camera and locking system gets adjusted, we’ll see.
    Merry Christmas, everyone! :)

  • Loved the improvements to the controls and really liked the new gravity styles. But i miss so many things from the original that made me love the game, which were missing from gravity rush 2. For what reason were they changed form gravity rush 1 to 2 I have no idea.

1: the menu style is changed. the original had such an alive menu system very illustrated. while in gravity rush 2 we have a menu that reminded me of arcade games. very disappointed in the menu its so boring and bland compared to the original one.

2: the map is not drawn but rather a simple dot graph. why would you not have the map similar to the way it was shown in original one that was so beautiful. i wish more games did maps like the way it was done in the original one. and here we are with GR2 that does not follow what it did right first time.

  • 3: gravity slide. though it better now that it can be used by only pressing one button but i found no way to drift. why was drift removed? plus gravity slide just hits every little thing on the ground which makes it insanely hard to use it in GR2.

4: Cell shaded world. though original gravity rush is old it looks like a cartoon/anime while the new one looks like a video game. why did you move away form cell shaded graphics?

i am still going to buy GR2 but the above things really hit me after playing the demo. kind of disappointed that the above things were missing.

  • I’ve been holding off on a PS4, waiting for prices to drop, and right as they do, the PS4 pro came out. Now I’m torn. I’ve got Gravity Rush 2 already pre-ordered, but no PS4! Should I just buy the basic ps4, or buy ps4 pro when price drops and just hold onto the game. Uhhh or shell out $400 for the pro. CHOICES! INNER CONFLICT! GR1 on vita was one of my favorite games ever, already bought remastered version (but never played it since I don’t have a ps4).

  • Game of the year 2017 for me

  • Yes! Thank you Sony and Japan Studio! Thank you Nick and Toyama San! I am a huge fan! I already pre-ordered the game a few months ago! I can’t wait!

  • I am super excited for this and I hope It does really well.
