By popular demand, Vote to Play is back and the voting begins on February 9th! The candidates include Action Henk!, Assault Android Cactus, and Broforce. The game that secures the most votes will be added to the March monthly games lineup for PlayStation Plus members.
Action Henk!
Publisher Curve Digital and developer RageSquid have put together a light-hearted racer where you run, jump, and — yes — butt-slide your way through a host of toy room environments with past-their-prime action figures.
It’s a game where timing and momentum are key as you attempt to outdo your opponents as well as your own past performance. How can you not love a game with the tagline “Butt-slide to victory?”
Assault Android Cactus
While the mechanics of this twin stick shooter will be familiar to many, developer Witch Beam has created a unique battery mechanic (in lieu of lives), providing a fresh experience that helps Assault Android Cactus stand out from the crowd.
This one also supports Shareplay, a “virtual couch” that lets a friend join your game for up to an hour at a time, creating an online local co-op experience. According to designer Sanatana Mishra, the goal with Assault Android Cactus was to make a game that he and the rest of the team wanted to play.
Broforce
While we didn’t know it at the time, Broforce is the game that we always wanted as we cheered beloved 80’s-era action heroes on to victory. Publisher Devolver and developer Free Lives have teamed up to deliver part irreverent spoof and part loving homage to what are now classic movies and classic games.
With its online co-op experience and over-the-top presentation, there’s a really great game here that deserves the heaps of praise it’s already received.
The thread that brings these three games together: fun titles that can connect the Plus community to play together with friends. For me, personally, one of the sweet spots in game design is a title that provides casual fun for almost anyone who picks up the controller, while providing a depth of mastery for those who want to push the game’s mechanics to their limits. AAC runs as smooth as glass. I have actually never experienced any bugs in the game as far as I know of. If you’re having issues with the game I suggest you should diagnose your computer.
I’m not suggesting that your your choice for Broforce is wrong , because I also plan on voting on Broforce because I already own AAC on Steam.
So many people complaining about indies when I just backed a Kickstarter to get a physical copy of another indie on PS4 that could end up on PS+ and I would still like it. Most indie devs right now used to be on AAA dev teams and a lot of these games are at least fun.
That being said, I would probably go with Assault Android Cactus. I enjoy twin stick shooters.
For as much as people pay for your games and to play online how about putting some decent games on there first free like maybe watchdogs, sports games like NHL baseball,God of War games like that would be nice instead of what you have up now like a casino game I even seen a game that had to do with the movie frozen do you really think gamers that like stuff like gta blackops are going to be interested in those types of games

Fortunately, Sony doesn’t JUST cater to the gamers who like Black Ops… they also cater to people like me who are most interested in JRPGs, and other people who are primarily interested in Indy games, and others who wants sports games, and still others who just want exploration games.
All gamers have a place in this ‘ecosystem’, stop trying to act starved when there are a TON of games coming out that are exactly what you want. Buy them and be happy. Stop whining that you don’t get everything free.

I really hope Android Cactus wins. It seems like a game that SHOULD be on psn. 1 looks like a half complete alpha version of Little Big Planet Racing with stupid mechanics, and the other looks like a 2006 flash game wanna-be Contra. They may be fun, but Android looks like its a fully put together game, with all the bells and whistles of something that would bring people in!
Broforce is meant to look retro. It is the design choice they wanted to make the game nostalgic and remind people of games like Contra. Android Cactus looks like an average MOBA to be honest.

PS Plus was always about getting the games and some discounts, it was never about the online play. The PS Plus requirement for online play was an addition to PS Plus only on PS4, not the main feature. Sony has played us all with PS Plus on PS4, and the games just keep getting worse, PS3 had better games by now in the cycle. Unfortunately, a lot of you just keep trying to suck up to Sony with comments like “stop complaining, Sony is great” and “everybody whines about free stuff”, do you think being a brown noser is going to score you brownie points with Sony or something? You think they are going to suddenly ask you to be a brand ambassador because you kiss major butt? Get real, they just love that they have you under their thumb and there is nothing you can do about it if you want to play online.

Anybody that says they want Broforce is obviously just picking the absolute worst option on purpose. We keep asking for games that are worthy of the PS4, games that actually use the capabilities of the system. Why would we want a game that could have been played on a low quality PC in the ’80s? Is Sony trolling us with this garbage? Unless people are just voting for the one they think will be the worst because they themselves are trolls, Sony has to be altering the results, because Broforce is pure trash. Assault Android Cactus is a bit better, but it is still a game that could have been on the PS3 and probably the PS2, it is NOT a PS4 game no matter what platform it was made for. Plus, we just got Helldivers which has very similar, top-down, childish gameplay. Action Henk is the better of three evils, but still not that impressive of a game. It is at least unique, and doesn’t look like it belongs on an ’80s PC.
Honestly, if I decide to vote it will be for Action Henk, but I presume there is no point because either the results are rigged or people really just love to watch the world burn and they vote for the worst (ever since William Hung and Sanjaya Malakar). Did we not learn anything from the last time we got to vote? Grow Home was the biggest piece of garbage I have ever seen on a console, I venture to say that I would rather play E.T. on Atari than to ever play Grow Home again. It is going to be the same with Broforce, except this time we should be able to tell that just by gameplay videos, this game is a joke. To tell you the truth, I think this whole “Vote to Play” game is a farce, it is just so Sony can say “we give our customers what they ask for” without actually giving us something we want. You can’t stack the deck and then claim the game is fair. Sony doesn’t give games that it’s customers want for PS Plus games, they give out games that have either already failed, a game that is expected to fail or barely break even, or games that were made for older systems that Sony just decides to rehash. Sony should be ashamed of this horrible business practice, but I’m sure their greed blinds them.

Why everyone is getting so excited about once again crap games? On my ps3 the line up always has a retail worthy game in there an we dont have to pay for ps plus on the ps3, but the ps4 we do have to pay for an i cant see where our money is going, i cant even remember the last time i downloaded off ps plus free games cus every month its just pathetic indie games that remind me off when i use to play my master system. So why is ps3 getting all the good line ups when its free an ps4 never get anything good. Im seriously just paying for ps plus to play online, which is another joke. Thats why every1 use to choose ps over xbox, cus it was free an now they go an do the same thing an give us basically notging for our money. I know im whining but after putting up with this **** month after month i have to have a little *****. If all my games weren’t multiplayer, ie dark souls, bloodborne, destiny etc, then i would of ditched it long time ago. Our voices need to be heard, if we all keep accepting it then its obviously gonna carry on isnt it.

My Super Nintendo could have run these games. So much for showing off the prowess of all that is PS4. I bought this system with the hopes of seeing great graphics. All I see nowadays is 8-bit side scrolling platformers.
