Attention, PlayStation Plus members! We have another set of great PS4 games for you to enjoy, just in time for the holidays. Whether you prefer a good ol’ fashioned romp through a dungeon, or maybe a light-hearted story of adventure, we’ve got you covered with two reimaginings of classic gaming goodness.

Up first is Gauntlet: Slayer Edition on PS4. Plunge into the dungeons on your own or with friends in this action-packed RPG. Face monstrous hordes of enemies, prowl crumbling catacombs for gold, and unearth incredible weapons. All in the name of fame and fortune!

Also on offering is the critically-acclaimed first chapter in the new King’s Quest series, titled A Knight to Remember. Journey through the memories of King Graham as he recounts his adventures to become a knight of Daventry.

    Bah! Not even one AAA title for Christmas. I’m going back to PC. At the end of the day it will be cheaper for me in my country to buy expensive bigger monitror and graphic card + non-exclusive games with better textures and framerate.

    I’m glad I didn’t renew my PS+ membership for December. Nothing of my interest there. Nothing of interest since a few months ago to be honest.
    Maybe if there are good discounts for Christmas I’ll think about it. Dying for a discount on a few KOEI’s Warriors.

    Technically they’re not “free” when u must purchase a subscription to get them. That said, if Microsoft can offer decent full games (Assassin’s Creed 4 was one my son recently received) then why can’t Sony? Fact is with backwards compatibility on the Xbox One & the integration with Windows 10 I’m not renewing my PlayStation Plus subscription when it expires. Get with the program Sony!

    Lots of people threatening to leave PS+ and/or PlayStation all together, but the number of subscriptions increases every month. Sony knows when your threats are hollow because they know who is subscribed and who isn’t. Make good on your threats or post more reasonable criticisms.

    My mouth literally dropped when I saw freedom wars on the list. Sony actually gave an amazing game for free this month, and on top of that its a Vita game.

    The lists get worse and worse every month…. Idk why I even really have PS Plus anymore. It;s just a disappointment month after month with free games.

    I’m pleased with the list, especially getting to play SSX again, not needing my Freedom Wars cart, and trying Gauntlet. The real issue is anyone who was trying the last few days is going to have a ton of games to play anyway for the next month/s.

    FINALLY games i like Sony i bought rockets birds. but FREEDOM WARS is a game i wanted to try for so long. but never had to chance to buy it.

    now the real sweet deal is Gauntlet: Slayer Edition!! boo yeah!! i was waiting for this!! i just wish mercenary kings would be on PS Plus again.

    but still you had not so good games for free this year Sony shame on you just shame on you…

    why is it that the people that had ps+ before the ps4 even come out are getting games like this,
    when we got the game from ps+ for the ps3 they were ones people wanted to play that would keep you playing and we were happy to pay for it..
    were the ones that payed for it even know we don’t have too. so come on ps+ give us the tipes of games like you did before the ps4 come out

    ive never played any of the far cry games but hear there great, i definetly wish there was a ps3 version of gauntlet i’d take that over ssx any day, not an awful month i have to say

    Truly dreadful offerings, at this stage that £40 sub would be better spent on games you will actually play over the year, rather than this humble bundle india year old steam sales stuff i got last year for a song.

    Come on Sony, step up your game, do not get complacent, i know another company that thought like that, and look at them now. lol

    Freedom Wars remains my favorite game on the Vita and needs a sequel (on the Vita or the PS4). I already have it and have seen it as low as $5. Recommended for anyone who hasn’t tried it (stick with it during the early goings when everything causes you an infraction, though I enjoyed that too, and also change your controls setup).

    Rest of the games though I don’t really find worth it to come back to PS+. I let mine expire after not getting anything for 4-5 months.

    This is pretty pitiful selection for PSPlus for the month we have Christmas. Could have at least thrown us something nice Sony :/ Even you flash sale wasn’t much of a sale when most of those games were cheaper on Steam or same price. thanks, though. Something like the Uncharted collection would have been nice. :/

    the *lowest* metacritic score for any of these games is a 71/100.

    far cry 3 is a AAA title.
    freedom wars is a AAA title.
    gauntlet is a fun update to a classic.
    rocketbirds is a solid “indie”.
    SSX is a AAA title.
    king’s quest is a AAA title (granted, we only get chapter 1).

    wide variety in genres represented. quality titles both new and old. AAA titles to appease the crybabies. and STILL people gripe and complain about not getting their money’s worth for their Plus subscription. i honestly don’t understand some folks.

    gauntlet *alone* is worth $5. king’s quest chapter 1 is $10 on steam *right now*. freedom wars is $10 on amazon (presumably on sale because of black friday/saturday). and far cry 3 is a $15 game easily, any day of the week.

    this is a GREAT month no matter how you slice it, but apparently there’s just no pleasing some people.

    (and no, i’m not a sony shill. i complained about october’s pisspoor offerings like everyone else. but november and december have been excellent as far as i’m concerned.)

      People complain about not getting a AAA titles for ps4 so it doesn’t matter what they give ps3 owners, because any respectable gamer no longer bothers with the ps3. Also Far cry Blood dragon is not a AAA, it was a DLC that you could play without owning the full game. Also Kings Quest is not a AAA it is an episodic indie game. So for PS4 yet again we have no AAA titles.

      The ‘crybabies’ have asked for just one AAA title this year and have had nothing. Since the launch of PS4 only one AAA has been given away last year Injustice God Among Us.

      It would have been nice getting something like Soma like when they gave us Outlast so it at least feels like we have something worthy of the subscription price. Now I don’t hate all indies, some have been good but it is getting a little tiresome now.

    The only game I have concern of is Kings Quest. I played them all when I was younger, and they are fantastic games, but only getting part 1, I’ll wait for a sale so I can get them all.

    Gauntlet, I watch them play that for some let’s play, looked great, now I can play with my kids.

    the rest are great games, but I have them already. Such is the life.

    I’m just glad I got Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Fallout 4 among other titles to keep me entertained through December so I can skip another month from buying this crap subscription :D

    Seriously… what kind of PS4 offerings are these?! And on Christmas?! Is this real life?! One freaking chapter of KQ? That’s literally nothing, if you buy the season pass it actually gives you Episode 1 for free. (Or more actually coz its a 5 chapter game and each one is aiming to be $9,99)

    I’m “okay” with Gauntlet seen that it’s a game a lot of people talk about, but wasn’t it on sale just 1 or 2 months ago?… As for the rest… Overall poor lineup especially considering PS4 games. There are so many good titles that have been mentioned before by other users like Watch_Dogs… Far Cry 4… Jesus even a Call of Duty game or Order 1886 which, lets face it, did not do very well…

    Or if you want to stay away from AAA games then why not some variety? Why always the same type of game? We’ve been showered with the same old 2D platformers, some of them were decent, sure, like Super Meat Boy but come on!!

    Well i share the same opinion as most of people here…im disapointed. Every month i expect to be surprised and… well…not happen. First months after the psplus subscription i was like excited for the game list of every next month, but seriously now i even pass for downloading games of certain months. But im here just to say that now Sony really surprised me, its December, correct me if im wrong but its christmas time and the ****ing list still the same? This is more than desrespect for people who spend soooo much money for your pockets. And this is not the end of the story we ll be here waiting to see what you Sony will do if this christmas some retarded fools hack your system and let us all blackouted like last year.     Nothing like paying 9.99 a month for games you can play on PC for free only tohave indie games shoved down my throat. But will charge 19.99 to play game you already own on Ps3.

    Will probably download Gauntlet out of curiosity but not the least bit happy about seeing King’s Quest Part One up here. If you are going to include episodic titles then include all of them as was done in Walking Dead Season Two or don’t include them at all. I feel like I’m being cheated out of 5/6 of a PS4 game this month.

    Beyond that it’s past time that we get an actual AAA game for the PS4. There are more than enough to pick from. Before this my Plus membership has lapsed and had I not won a Gold Taco Bell PS4 and gotten a 1yr included with it I’m not sure I’d have renewed. Lately Plus has felt like it has lost the value it once held. Step your game up Sony.

    SSX and Blood Dragon are awesome! Don’t have a Vita yet. But i plan on getting one so i keep getting the PS+ ones so i can use them in the future. I will try Gauntlet since i loved the original. Don’t care to much for King’s Quest. Chapter game? Really? and only one chapter? At least with The Walking Dead Season 2 we got the WHOLE thing.

    I guess 5 out of the 6 games are okay, but once again the PS4 game selection is a disappointment. Please stop with selecting only smaller, indie, or digital only games. It’s been 2 years and there are a good number of AAA titles to pick from! Also, only getting episode 1 of King’s Quest is an absolute insult to PS+ subscribers. With that move, Sony is pretty much giving its customers the middle finger.

    Honestly guys why would Sony give us amazing AAA older titles right now? It makes no sense Sony has to pay money for these free deals and they know with the game release line up for October to December you are going to be playing all your new games. When would you find time to play an older game. It would make more sense to drop a AAA title in a month where not a lot of games release because more people would download it and play it. And let’s be honest here you have to pay for plus sub anyway so your not paying for the free games your paying for servers running and upkeep. The free games are just an extra.

There are really old games like murdered soul suspect, knack, trials fusion , rayman legends,wolfenstein, evil within old remastered games like sleeping dogs, saint row devil may cry but no, why make a deal with sega and give money for alien isolation, to bring it free and they can develop a sequel…why please the customer on christmas ?

    Sorry Sony, as much as I love the PS4, this is not good enough. We haven’t been given a decent game since Rocket League, and I’m sure many would agree, we expected more for the Xmas mouth of December. At least one AAA would have been a lovely xmas gift for your loyal fans who have stuck by you since day 1 and paid their subscriptions since launch.

    Kings quest is unacceptable considering we have had to suffer the previous two point and click games, Walking Dead part two and Broken Age, both I ignored. Gauntlet I didn’t even enjoy in the 80’s as it was a bland top down shooter with little to offer. The ps3 and vita games mean nothing as these consoles are now redundant. So please reconsider, focus on ps4 and scrap these two games and come up with something great for your loyal Sony fans this xmas.

    i got a ps4 in october and bought a year of ps+ mainly for the free games as i don’t really play any online shooters etc. really wish i hadn’t bothered as the free games haven’t been worth having up to now. i will not be renewing next year when it runs out.

    December lineup is decent. I already bought Freedom wars on release but hoping Gauntlet is a nice surprise.

    I have to admit, I probably will not unsub from PS+ but with prices being much better on Steam, Steam sales rekting Sony Sales, full PS4 HD.. I find i’m spending about 90% of my gaming dollars on Steam and only buying PS4 exclusives or non PC games to play on the PS4.

    Also super interested in the XBONE integration with Windows 10 and backwards compat since i’m a 360 owner… so the PS4 slice may get even smaller in the near future for me personally.

    This is quite frankly crap. Give us Knack already or something. Surely you can give you a launch AAA at this point. Xbone is at least getting Thief. The quality of PS+ games has significantly decreased. These games have been way too much “miss” than “hit” lately
