One brutally difficult platformer, one heart-warming, coming-of-age story. This month’s PS Plus lineup has a great mix of flavors and you’ve come to the right place for the details! Starting on the first Tuesday of the month, a new lineup of free games comes to PlayStation Plus members, including Super Meat Boy and Broken Age on PS4.

Super Meat Boy will challenge even the most devoted platforming players with teeth-grinding levels, insane obstacles, horrible traps, and smiling chunks of meat. Yum! Can you stand against the gory onslaught of near-impossible tasks in Super Meat Boy? You’ll find out soon enough…

PS Plus: October 2015

If that’s a little too intense, why not point and click at things, instead? Broken Age is joining the PS Plus lineup, too! In it, guide two teenagers through strangely similar circumstances but on two different worlds. With a gorgeous soundtrack and award-winning cast, Broken Age is perfect for gamers that grew up with the adventure genre. Or people that just want to hear some jokes. Jokes are always good.

Last thing! Driveclub PlayStation Plus Edition will no longer be available as a free download for Plus members starting on October 6th, 2015. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, be sure to go to PlayStation Store now before October 6th!

      I did as a teen in the80’s. What art style? Minimalistic? Come on now, zero excuse for a game like this to be released on a current gen console. Especially considering the original mario bros on the apple 2e weren’t much worse graphically

    SMH at those of you writing these games off because they’re not CoD or big AAA titles. Broken Age is phenomenal as is Super Meat Boy. I hope they just stop giving games away since they are clearly all just so awful. The self-entitled-ness of this gen is despicable.

      Are you dumb? We are PAYING FOR THIS, it is NOT self entitlement when we are PAYING. Go back to what was announced for ps+ when the ps4 was launched. We were promised AAA titles every month (not 3, but at least 1) and now we get indies month after month! Grow up a brain and stop trying to act mature when you’re clearly just being pretentious and content for something that’s nowhere near what was promised. Learn when self entitlement is before throwing it around.

      We pay for this service, I don’t think you go to the grocery store and buy $100 worth of food and walk out with just a candy bar right? We’re not asking for the moon and the stars all we are asking for is to get maybe 1 decent game per month. Oh and you saying that this generation act like they are entitled to everything, well what generation are you talking about because I’m probably older than you are.

      Maybe they should stop giving garbage games away and focus on bringing us better titles. I myself have been playing since Atari 2600, I have no sense of self entitlement but I do know that I pay for a premium service for a good reason.
      Indie titles do not justify $49.99 per year just to play online and chat with friends lol.

    Great games wich I don’t own yet but wanted to try so bad! Thanks for making this chance!
    And I’m really happy with the Playstation EU line up too. So if we get the same games as them this month, I’m totally up for it :)

    So I understand the PS4 is a relatively new console but seriously PS plus is becoming a bitter disappointment in terms of “free” monthly games and the fact that digital versions of PS3 games can’t be played on it really blows my mind since they are often times recieving better options I hope November offers a vote between 2 to 3 AAA game titles. Games like super meat boy are cool and all but not everyone has heard of it or knows there’s a doc about it

    Can we please get an option to only pay for multiplayer? When I first got the PS4 I was annoyed that I had to pay for something that use to be free on PS3, but I was ok with it because I thought PS+ would be worth it… Now it just seems like Sony is forcing me to pay for multiplayer in order to sell a subscription that most PS4 owners would pass up on…. So if I have to pay for it why cant I just pay for multiplayer? Broken Age doesn’t look bad, but it looks like its for children. I would never subscribe to PS+ if they advertised these games without multiplayer. If my PS4 breaks down I’m getting an Xbox. Their Games for gold thing looks WAY better.

      Oh you bet. I do not use to play online. Since I’m buying this service for the Plus games and they are crap, I’ll opt out.
      And yeah, Will just buy the games I want or I migrate to Xbox Gold. That’s how the capitalist world works. I don’t use the crap service from Sony and they don’t take my money. Since a lot of people are complaining about it too, Sony would lose a lot of money.
      And by the way, I’m complaining about a service I’m paying, I’ve the rights to do so.

      I’m considering not renewing my plus of Sony keeps this up, they need to focus on better games, they don’t have to be triple A titles but we need a better selection of games, indie or not.

    This is terrible. Why do you insist on pretending to care and then pull the rug? You tell us we will get one AAA game a month starting in January, you give us one then go back on us. You tell us we can vote our games, then you give us a FIVE YEAR OLD GAME then pretend like it’s a gift like we should care. Meanwhile the other guys are coming through on your promise without the gravitas. I love my PS4 and loved IGC on PS3, but this garbage you are attempting to pass off as some kind of incentive. Instead you are giving us disappointment and at best a chore of trying something and deleting it. Thank you for the open forum and please comply with your once broken promises.

      for all of you who applauded when Sony announced that to play online in the ps4 system needed to be plus member enjoy it, I knew that the Sony corporation would take advantage of this and would cease to provide good games to attract more subscribers to the ps plus service.

    Man there are so many cry babies on here. Are you that hard up that you’re relying on PS+ titles to enjoy your PS4? There are tons of games out there, and the added bonus of the free ones is just a nice topper. You may like some, you may not, but at least you get the chance to try them out and decide for yourself. I figure most of you whining are 15 though and expect AAA games all the time. Get a grip. I haven’t played much from PS+ lately, but it’s only $50 a month and well worth it for everything else that you get (cloud saves, multiplayer, etc.). Go play on Xbox is you must.

      The issue, as I said elsewhere, is that from 2012-2014, there were a TON of retail titles released on PS+, and in 2015 that number has dwindled to barely a handful. So yes, people are upset. Telling people to go play on Xbox (where the Games with Gold are GIVEN to you, not licensed only so long as you pay for PS+) is a cop-out. Don’t ignore the fact that there absolutely is a disparity compared to the past, and it’s something people are upset over, even if you’re not.

      Don’t complain that people are giving their feedback just because you don’t agree with it. Sure, disagree and say it’s a good deal and you’re happy with what they’re offering if that’s the case – but people are hardly being crybabies when they’re honestly responding to a call for feedback.

      Sony’s a big boy – it doesn’t need to be coddled and can stand to hear if customers aren’t happy with what they’re doing. Granted, any sort of “you get free stuff, but WE pick what’s free and you don’t” is hardly ever going to go over well with everyone, because we’re just not the same. Let Sony sort out whether the level of dissatisfaction is high enough to warrant a change or not.

      Did you read this before you posted??? The “free” games are not the added bonus or the topper of ps+! They are the reason for buying the subscription for most people. And the games are not free, they are part of the subscription. Whether I enjoy my PS4 or not is beside the point. I paid for monthly games as part of the bargain and if they want me to pay again, they HAVE to keep me interested. The fanboys like you will not keep them in the lead, no matter how noisy you are.
      And if you think you are taking SONY’s side by telling me to go buy XBOX you really need to think again.

      And the line-up this month really, really sucks. They took their time with the announcement, and we can see the reason: pure shame from being unable to provide. Will vote with my wallet.

      It’s actually $50 for a year of PS+. And I’m convinced the people who argue, “Don’t give me that game for free! Give me another game for free” don’t understand how Sony gets games added to IGC and they obviously don’t care. It’s not an opinion, it’s background noise. Everybody else is buying the games they want, exploring the ones they get for free, and broading their horizons. That’s why Sony is and should continue to ignore them.

      Everybody says it is free because you are paying for multiplayer and getting the games free. WRONG. PS Plus was never about multiplayer until the PS4, it was all about the games. You buy PS Plus for the games and get multiplayer free. Stop looking at it backwards.

    The last games I was excited for on PS plus were First Light, Sly 4, and Bioshock 2 wtf happened to ps plus. Besides Rocket League this year has not been good. C’mon Playstation at least try and get people interested.

      The original version had only 2 PS4 games (Broken Age, Super Meat Boy). Most of the early comments won’t make sense to those arriving post-edit.

    I remember when the IGC used to be cool and we got full retail games every month. You sure don’t make getting a subscription look tantalizing.

    Yeah, sorry but I’ll add to the din here.

    It doesn’t make sense to not post the full list of games here. But if you insist on making us go to another link, before you hit post, you need to go to that link yourself and make sure it’s what you expected it to be.

    And when you post something like this, why not check for a few minutes to see at least what the immediate comments are? Then you would have seen there is a problem and could have replied to one of the first comments to let us know you are aware of the problem and are working on it. If you aren’t doing these things then you can’t call this a blog.

    As for the games (assuming we are getting the same games as EU), I have no problem with this month – looks like a good bunch of games!

    Two top rated games this month. I am especially excited for Broken Age! The game is supposed to be amazing. Great picks, unfortunately you cannot please everyone and these comment are rife with people demanding free AAA games while the oldes PS4 game isn’t even two years old.

I hate all the whiners that think there going to get the newly released AAA games every month for $50 dollars a year!!! If you want the newest games I hear GameStop, Amazon, Walmart, the PlayStation store has everything your looking for, go get the games you want and stop being entitled whiners.       nice strawman, but nobody expects that. they expect 1 retail game (which is 1-2 years old), 1 digital only game. this is the same expectation that people had last generation, this is the same expectation that xbox live has delivered on 2 of the last 3 months.

    It seems that some are having issues with formatting.

    As for me, I’ve noticed a couple of brand-new glitches on this blog:

    1) For a few days at least, replies to comments weren’t visible. It showed the username and timestamp, but the text was invisible. That seems to have been fixed…at least for now.

    2) The comments AND their respective replies are all out of order timewise. And are in a different order each time I revisit the blog and/or reload the page. Is there something hard about writing computer code that recognizes dates and times, while simultaneously holding up the concept of before & after consistently?

    Incredibly bad line up man =( I got little money this month, was expecting PS Plus to keep me entertained, but it won’t

    Even the rumored Assassin’s Creed 4 would be more interesting even though it’s a pretty old last gen game

    And this incomplete list is just disappointing

    I’ll leave at least a bit of praise for bringing Mega Man Legends, that made my day

    Some of these comments seem laughable. Even if they offered you a 60 dollars game, it seems like people would still complain, There totally have been horrible months in terms of game offerings…. but seriously… Broken Age is awesome. I’ ve loved all of Tim Schafer’s games so I’m biased. Not everybody will like Broken Age, but some people should at least check it out before chastising it. I don’t know the other games, so I can’t comment about them.

    No one should really be surprised by now that every time there is a store update or PS plus free game update, it awakens all the otherwise dormant and self-pitying rage inside a slew of gamers who maybe should just do what they keep saying and “cancel their PS plus” subscriptions or maybe even think about switching to a different gaming outlet… although then PS Blog employees would have no one to metaphorically shoot them after delivering their messages.

      raushan01 — I get the feeling that you’re not familiar with the idiom I was referencing in my above comment, or maybe you’re not familiar with the word “metaphorical.” I am clearly making fun of the people who constantly complain every time there’s a store update on the blog, and if those people were to all cancel their plus subscriptions then they would no longer be able to figuratively, “shoot the messenger.” It comes from a very old saying which came about due to Kings and Lord’s who would often kill the person who brought them bad news from afar, which of course is unfair to say the least. So this saying warns people who receive bad news: “Don’t shoot the messenger.”

    yeah i’m honestly considering not renewing my plus subscription. its quite clear you guys have become solely focused with the PS4 and expect hype alone to carry it. gamers want real games. i have a top of the line android phone that could run most of the games recently released on ps plus and my vita.

Plus, the fact that I have a PS4 and have to have Playstation Plus anyway…I’m paying for something that’s not worth it. It’s more worth it to have Playstation plus on PS3 and not PS4

    What the Hell??? ANOTHER month and just more CRAP!!! I have purchased a Playstation PLUS membership for a full YEAR…….and according to the description, supposed to be AMAZING deals on the most popular games, FREE games every month of some of the most popular titles, etc. Well, so far, you have been giving out basically nothing but “2-D” games that seem to be from the “80’s” or “90’s”…….and the so called “DISCOUNTS???”……….they have been PATHETIC on the “Good” games. Exactly WHEN will you show us what our PS PLUS is actually WORTH purchasing……and give us REAL games and REAL Discounts for what we have paid you…………..enough of this CRAP!!!!! Show us discounts for the games we WANT to see…..and WANT to have!!!! And NOT these games, etc. we have NEVER seen or heard of!!! NOT HAPPY!!!!. I’m 3 months into my 1 year membership now…..and I have not used my membership for ANYTHING yet……extremely disappointed with you!!!

      Funny thing is that there have actually been a lot of good sales on great games over the past three months, so maybe that isn’t the problem. Maybe your taste in games just isn’t up to par with the variety offered on PlayStation, so maybe you should look somewhere else.

      Broken Age is an amazing game and if some of you can’t see that or even bother trying it then you are the root of the problem with this industry.

      Haha, you’re extremely ignorant. It’s cute.

      Sure, most indie games are terrible, but there are some truly great indie games. The output of excellent indie games completely eclipses the output of excellent AAA titles; and I’d say that their quality is on par as well.

      Even so, many people still ignore the huge number of great indie games. Possibly because they play nothing but AAA games, and don’t see most of the best indie titles. People have some sort of cognitive bias that associates expensive graphics and a high retail price with quality and that’s the exact mindset that is going to be the downfall of this industry. I think of indies as games to occupy me until the big AAA games come out, so it doesn’t bother me one bit.

      Enjoy your yearly CoD and Destiny expansions though. I’ll be playing everything else haha.

      So, you agree with me at one point and because I call out most Indies so what they are (garbage and for most looking like they were made in the late 80s to late 90s/early 2000s) and you say I’m ignorant? That doesn’t make any sense. Most people ignore Indies because most Indies are all overrated pretentious games as you previously agreed with me on. Your other point of Indies eclipsing AAA games in quality contradicts what the original statement of the top of you saying most Indies being trash. It seems to me that you are the one here who’s ignorant and can’t except that someone has a different opinion, and then you go on to say ” have fun with your yearly Destiny and CoD expansions. You’ll be playing everything else” what is that supposed to mean? Or are you just making a baseless assumption and swinging for the fences? You can enjoy your garbage indie games and your ” everything else”.

      You’re way wrong about that. People absolutely do buy a new system and play indies. I’ve played a lot, and this month’s PS+ titles are excellent.
