PlayStation Plus members! Your voices have been heard. Thanks to our Vote to Play campaign — which gave you the ability to vote on a game for our September Plus offering — we’re delighted to reveal your selection, and the first title in next month’s free games lineup: Grow Home on PS4. If you voted for Armello or Zombie Vikings, don’t worry: Plus members will get a 30% discount on both starting on September 1st, all the way through September 15th.

So what can gamers look forward to this September? Grow Home is an adorable game about BUD (Botanical Utility Droid), who is traveling the stars in search of new flora to help his home planet. In Grow Home, players will climb a massive plant that stretches from the planet’s surface all the way to his ship in space. Don’t look down.

PS Plus: Free Games for September 2015

Super Time Force Ultra is a fast-paced action platformer that tasks players with rewinding time and creating “time clones” to clear out levels. In Xeodrifter, players explore strange alien planets and discover valuable secrets to cobble together a way home. Twisted Metal celebrates classic car combat with tons of power-ups and delectable explosions. Teslagrad features beautiful platforming and smart puzzles, and La Mulana EX brings a riddle-filled adventure to challenge-hungry gamers.

These games are free for PS Plus members starting on the first Tuesday of the month! Enjoy.

    So when are Sony going to start rolling out the AAA titles? I have a ps4 and an xb1, but only have ps plus not Xbox live, but I’m considering changing that now. Live had AC black flag last month, and tomb raider in September which are both great games that I’ve previously owned and would definitely play again for free. I’m all for supporting indie devs, those guys do a great job, but Sony need to start mixing it up like they used to.

      completly agree & xbox1 also got metal gear solid 5 ground zeroes as a free game in aug 2015, should be 1 indie & 1 triple a game at least every other month, if not every month

    For the first time I’m going to moan, so I’ll make this brief.
    Ive been a PS fanboy since ’95, I own every console and a huge library of games for each console.
    When ps plus started it was poor, you where given alot of mini games and themes and I nearly stopped subscribing. Then it suddenly got better. It felt awesome sticking to Xbox fanboys over the quality of AAA games we where getting for free.
    Since the introduction of PS4 PS Plus it seems the quality of games seems to have dropped. I say this not because of the amount of indie games that’s been offered as I’m a fan of Indie games. Rather the quality of the service full stop over all the 3 platforms.
    Where as before we where receiving games 12 – 16 months old that achieved a decent meta critic on the PS3 we now receive games 2-3 years old.

    Its not like I’m wanting a AAA game game every month on the PS4 but games on the PS3 should not be receiving games like Twisted Metal. The last of Us or Resident Evil Revelations are types of games would hold some weight and keep at least one section of the PS Plus subscribers happy. Even an AAA game once in a while on PS4 would be a nice change instead of Standalone DLC (infamous last light) or blown up demos (ground zero) or (dare I say) pixel indies.

    The question I ask myself is “is this next gen?”

    PlayStation I love you guys but you need to up the anti.

    I get it , some guys love Indies, some other don’t.
    I understand even that it’s all about the money..nothing is free,..but please STOP it with INDIES ..a lineup only with INDIES.. come on..is that really the reason why we buyed a “next gen” console ?
    Before the Fan Boys explode :
    Sony ..why don’t u make another service just for online gaming and automatic updates without any other extra options for like 2.99 per month? everybody would be happy… Indie players could play what they like with the plus..and the rest of us wouldn’t get that frustrating feeling that another month passes with a lineup that is totally not what you expect from Playstation / Sony

      Buy all your Plus subscription codes during a promo period (such as Black Friday) and you’ll have the discounted rate you seek. Then you can just ignore the games you don’t care for, although, you could already be doing that now. Whatever.

    Seriously Sony? I’ve been a loyal fan for several years, and this line up keeps looking worse and worse. The last PS Plus game I actually enjoy was Apotheon (February 2015). You seem to have gotten comfortable in the console war sales, so now you just throw scraps to the loyal subscribers?
    How about offering online services without the indie game collection every month?
    Or how about giving PS Now memberships for free to PS Plus members, since you refuse to nudge on Backwards Compatibility?
    Or how about just giving members a 20% Off coupon each month to use on a title of their choice, instead of force feeding us a library of low quality games, and to make up for the lack of PS4 sale prices?
    Unless something changes, my subscription will lapse in October. This is ridiculous.

    Tomb Raider on Xbox 1 for the month of Sept. Xbox 1 has a killer line up of AAA for 3 months now and they are not stopping anytime soon Xbox 1 and Xbox Live thing that make you go hmmmmmmmmmm !!

    Ps3 gets all the AAAs because it’s owners have a choice to subscribe or not making Sony have to put out adequate games for it. Since ps4 needs plus to play online they know we are stuck buying it anyway making the free games obsolete to them.

    While none of these games really spark any interest for me, I absolutely love the Vote to Play thing. I’d love to see them do this every month. I think this was a good response on PS’s part to all the people that were complaining about the game selections. It blows my mind how people still complain even when they get a response from a large company. $50 a year, what is that, $4/month? Personally, I prefer AAA games over indie games (no disrespect to indie fans), but at $4/month, people sure seem to have some high demands. I think someone previously put it correct when they said entitlement. Way to go Sony/PS on the voting thing (even though my vote lost).

    Another rubbish month. I’m starting to rethink my ps+ membership. I don’t play online that much and if the monthly games don’t improve I will not renew my membership. Step it up sony

      I liked last month’s games we got god of war ascension and that stealth game looked pretty cool if you don’t like the games or already have them you don’t need it with ps3 and you should renew it if you have friends you wanna play with on ps4 and it’s not rubbish if you already have them

    Sony, you forgot to say sorry. Ie, this is the poor list of games you are getting in September. We’re sorry. Surely with Xbox improving its selection you must at least feel a bit ashamed. I mean they are beating you at your own thing.

    I have cancelled my plus sub as this is getting ridiculous.

    I am so sick of this….tossing in one retro game a month is fine, but can we please get something with an art department from this CENTURY, and a game mechanic that isn’t Jumping?? I played this sort of junk two decades ago and it wasn’t fun then either. Little bit more variety please….

    It’s kind of astounding that this post is going on five pages of mostly dissatisfied customers and nobody from Sony has responded with a comment either to the people happy with the games or those complaining. Usually you see a blog post and moderators write something back to those individuals praising the selection. But not a peep going on five pages?
    They know they’re giving us scraps and don’t intend to do anything to fix it. Meanwhile Xbox has lowered their console prices, giving members free backwards compatibility games, and actually LISTEN to their members and give them a AAA game each month. When will Sony start listening or even responding?
    To the complaints of the low quality PS Plus games?
    A Sub-par network stability?
    PS Now prices?
    Backwards Compatibility?
    You are quickly going to lose your fan base if you dont even acknowledge their concerns…

      the more time passses the more i realise that sony doesnt care about their fan base….. its a pity i purchased the ps4…… i shouldve gone for the xbox one….. sure the ps4 has better games(for now) but at least xbox is trying to take care of its fans…. sony couldnt care less about us….

    Damn it. I’m warming up to the idea of indie titles, but it’s just not cool to hear that Xbox Live is getting Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. Especially because we’re the ones who gotta wait for Rise of the Tomb Raider. If Sony’s gonna keep giving us these lesser known titles that a lot of mainstream gamers aren’t really interested in, at least make one of them an amazing multiplayer so that the money for the PS+ makes sense. To be honest, I don’t know if any of these are because I’ve never heard of them before. Anyone know?

    Free games are free regardless, so I’m stoked. Hopefully we get something as amazing as Rocket League was this month. If not, there’s always next month.

    Dude calm down. It doesnt change anything if you are spamming or insulting.
    Sony need to realize that not everyone likes Indiegames or 2D Sidescrollers. They should atleast put in 12 months 3 or 4 bigger retail games, thats all we want and everyone is happy with it because its worth it.
    But when you put 99% Indiegames and Sidescrollers in it, and said that the service will get better games, than i can understand why people are moaning.

    every 3 or 4 month one bigger retail title should be the standard.

    for example
    october 2015 = knack
    december 2015= little big planet 3
    march 2016= rayman legends
    june 2016= trials fusion
    september 2016= wolfenstein
    oktober 2016= tomb raider definitive edition

    and so on and continue with games like rocket league or good indietitels to fill up the lineup, but please dont do 99% indiegames.

    Voting isn’t an ideal system. The problem with voting is the majority that wins the vote isn’t always the majority that matters – its just people who are aware of the poll and active on the Internet.

    There are millions of players and potential users, not all can be expected to vote. That’s why I had no problem with the Sony game curators who used to choose the free games each month, IMO they did a fantastic job.

    Now only the most ‘popular’ game will win, and that’s almost always NOT the ‘best’ game. There are a LOT of hidden gems that have been part of PS+ which would NEVER have won a vote.

    For another example, look at the recent Hugo awards fiasco which was due to vote stuffing as well.

    I’m disappointed with the free games actually, especially when I see XBox One (Gold) users getting Tomb Raider. I generally don’t like the indie games, and we’ve had some great PS+ free games this year (esp. Injustice, Infamous: First Light and Rocket League) but several great PS4 games are old enough now that they should be on this list. Games like Rayman Legends (free on XBox Live), Far Cry 4, Shadow of Mordor, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag (free on XBox Live), LBP 3, Watchdogs, Killzone: Shadow Fall – lots of great games that nobody’s still buying but could add value to PS+.

    I’m not saying the games should ALL be AAA titles, but I think at least one of the games every month or two should be, but a retail title that’s more than a year old. There’s a lot of precedent for this if you look at some of the PS3 games that were free: Borderlands 1 & 2, BioShock 2 & Infinite, Sleeping Dogs, Uncharted 3, Shadow of the Colossus, Devil May Cry, Dead Space 3, Crysis 3, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Thief, Dishonored, God of War: Ascension (and that’s just a small sampling!). With on average at least 4-5 (non-indie) games coming out every month, surely one of them that wants a broader user base so they can sell DLC.

    another month without any games that interest me…… might revisit twisted metal but ive already played that game to death….. but apart fro that all the other games are just plain unappealing….. before all u haters start criticizing me for not liking indie games well i dont like indie games so sue me!! in fact im pretty sure the vast majority of players dont like indie games……. and i know sony cant give us a AAA title every month…. but cmon!!! its been so long since i got a decent game!!! how about u give us a AAA title from maybe 3-5 years ago, like far cry 3 or fallout 3 or oblivion??? these are all pretty old titles but they are still amazing none the less…furthermore with the release(or imminent release) of their sequels odds of people buying these games are pretty low…especially seeing how u dont need to play any of these games to play its successor….if anything if u give these out for free u might find people, who previously never played the series going out and actually buying its successor…. and i seriously doubt anyone would complain about getting a title like that(even if they already owned the game)…

    Having had PS+ since before PS4 came out (but let it lapse for quite a while because I don’t do much online play, and really haven’t dug the games for over a year) let me just say…

    Every month is Indie Month on PS4. I don’t get how you can say “Oh this is Indie Month” or “This is a great month for Indie gamers”. That’s every month. It’s not a matter of “This month isn’t to your taste”. If you don’t like indie games, zero months were to your taste. None. I get that people making those comments probably are not well versed in the history of PS+ free games, or how terribly it went down hill for ALL systems after PS4 released, but please try to do a little research before you get angry at people who are fed up with indie games. Not every single one of us wants to replay Binding of Isaac endlessly- or in the first place. Limbo is probably the only Indie Game to come out of PS+ that I ever enjoyed and I already picked that up on Vita. BTW pick up Limbo before it’s gone if you have a PS4. I’m not big on platformers but something about it is enjoyable.

      Also, I guess I can’t edit so I’ll just reply. Voting for the games was done in PS store as well, so if you had a PS4 you could vote and if you looked at the estore (which presumably if you care about PS+ free games you did), then you had a choice. I personally chose nothing because I cared about none, but the voting was readily available if you did care about one of the 3 choices.

    this months sucks for me, but i am still playing rocket league, finished ascension and chilling with some old backlog of other months ps+ so no biggie. grow home and time force with shuhei yoshida will probably be fun.

    These games are crap, PS Plus is not getting renewed. Paying for Xbox Live and PSN is a joke to play MP but Microsoft seems to be doing a good job. Tomb Raider, like come on Sony, These are games people play on cell phones and their wasiting power playing them on a home console. Greatness awaits, What they mean is Greatness waits and waits and waits, You died, but don’t worry your still waiting.
