PlayStation Experience 2015 Comes to San Francisco

Deep breath: PlayStation Experience is officially a go for 2015! The epic two-day PlayStation community event is back, relocating to sunny/foggy/windy San Francisco this December 5th and 6th.

What can you expect this year? For starters, a ton of hands-on time with 2015 and 2016’s biggest games, plus a front-row seat for major PlayStation announcements. Plus some of those patented PlayStation surprises you’ve come to expect.

We’ve also heard your feedback regarding ticket prices, and I’m happy to announce that we’ve been able to make PlayStation Experience a little more affordable for 2015. Early birds who register before September 20th will get a discounted rate of $60 for the full two-day pass, while supplies last. After September 20th, regular two-day tickets will go for $75, with one-day passes going for $45 (Saturday only) and $40 (Sunday only).

Tickets are on sale now. When ordering tickets, we strongly recommend registering with your PlayStation Network ID for… well, reasons that aren’t exactly clear to me at this point. But I’m told it’ll all make sense come December!

For those traveling from out of town, we’ve secured a select number of discounted hotel rates at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis for $249 per night, the Courtyard by Marriott San Francisco Downtown for $209 per night, and the Hilton San Francisco for $179 per night.

Capcom Cup

Also, for all you Street Fighter fans out there, the Capcom Cup will be held at PlayStation Experience this year as a one-day special event open to all attendees on Sunday, December 6th! As the final culmination of the 2015 Capcom Pro Tour, the official Street Fighter eSports league, the Capcom Cup will feature 32 of the world’s best players competing for the title of “Street Fighter World Champion” and a shot at the massive $250,000 prize pool.

Additionally, the Capcom Cup VIP Package is available for those who purchase a two-day or Sunday-only pass and want the ultimate Capcom Cup experience! Package includes:

  • Premium front area seating at the event
  • Capcom goodie bag
  • Exclusive access to the Capcom Cup after party, hosted by Twitch and Showdown.gg

For more details on the Capcom Pro Tour and Capcom Cup, be sure to check out their official website.

  • At what time is the event??? Very important. Please reply!

    • I think it’s pretty much “all day”, 9 or 10 am to 6 pm, or at least that’s how it was last year. They had a press conference on Saturday morning I believe, and then games all day. Look up last year’s event to find more specifics.

  • HI Sid! i wanted to know what are the hours each day for the convention center to be open? wanted to also get a chance to see some of the awesome sights and sounds of San Fran!

  • Is there a customer service number I can call about specifics. My son is 16 and he we’ve loved playstation for the longest time.

  • Do you have to be 18 or older to attend or can their be a adult with you kid? Please if anyone know tell me ASAP.

  • As someone that has attended numerous press events over the years (E3, GDC, TGS, etc.) I gotta say, I probably never have been so blown away as I was attending last year’s PSX. Definitely looking forward to this one. :P

And yes everyone, you have to be 18+ to attend PSX.

  • Hey. Since you’re recommending that we register with our PSN IDs, why not include a QR code on our badges that does a link to send a FR to the badgeholder? I figure that there would be a lot of people there who might want to make some new PSN friends.

  • Ordered on 8/20, the “Early Bird” showed “SOLD OUT” so had to buy regular price. Today, couple of my friends ordered tix, and the “Early Bird” wasn’t “SOLD OUT” anymore!!!! I emailed playstationexperience@itnint.com about this and here’s their response: “I am very sorry but there are no refunds and it looks like PlayStation added some more early bird tickets since they sold out so quickly.” Really? I know it’s just $15, but still… RIDICULOUS!

  • Hi! Is cosplay allowed/ acceptable at the event? I’d love to bring my Ratchet and Clank with me! Kotaku featured it a month ago and it would be great to bring it to an event- especially one like this!

  • So I am buying tickets for me and my boyfriend and I want to surprise him. Do you guys recommend me getting the Vip package or getting the Vip package or is not worth it? Please Help thank you!!!!

  • I’ve been trying to find out through anyone at PS whether or not cosplay is allowed to this event? Do I need to contact the company/developers of the game to make sure it’s ok with them specifically?

Last resort posting here. Would really like to know!
