UPDATE: Since we’ve received a lot of comments asking which movie theaters will be participating, we’ve added the list to the bottom of this post. As a reminder, tickets will be made available at http://playstation.com/e3experience tomorrow (Wednesday, May 27th) at 9:00am PT.
Whenever I interact with the PlayStation community I’m always struck by their passion and excitement for gaming. I saw this firsthand at E3 2014, when I teamed up with PlayStation and Fathom Events to bring the E3 Press Conference live to over 10,000 fans around the country as part of the PlayStation E3 Experience in movie theaters. It was amazing to see fans line up all across America to experience the news and announcements live with others in the community.
This year I’m happy to announce that the PlayStation E3 Experience will return on Monday, June 15. Due to the quick sell-outs in 2014, we will be staging it in significantly more theaters — and yes, it will still be free. Last year tickets in most markets sold out in 15 minutes or less, so for 2015 we are increasing the number of theaters by more than 150%, with at least one theater in every state across the US — including Hawaii and Alaska — plus 3 cities in Canada.

You and fellow members of the PlayStation community will get to see the full PlayStation E3 press conference in HD on the big screen, plus there are special bonuses for those who come out to the theater experience. I’ll be hosting an exclusive 30-minute in-theater post show with extended footage and interviews with developers, and everyone who attends will take home a PlayStation surprise, which will consist of PlayStation goods and digital codes we can’t disclose yet. (Last year attendees received early access to the Destiny Alpha and Battlefield: Hardline beta, along with a great poster and VIP laminate).
To make it fair to everyone in the community, this year we are giving you advance notice of ticket sales. Free tickets will be made available on Wednesday, May 27 starting at 9:00 a.m. PT at playstation.com/e3experience. Eighty percent of theater capacity will be reserved for ticket holders, with 20% of the theater held for those on the wait list, who will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. We saw the big lines last year and want to make sure that everyone has a fair chance to be in the theater.
The PlayStation.Blog guys also tell me that their big PlayStation LiveCast show will be back again in a big way, kicking off with the PlayStation Press Conference on June 15th, starting at 5:45 p.m. Pacific Time. They’ll have plenty of game demos, new trailers, and developer interviews over the next three days – and you’ll be able to watch on your PS4 or PS3 using the Live Events Viewer app, too. Stay tuned for more details.

I got in. Seemingly. Waiting on the confirmation email now. See my other Twin Cities folks on the 15th.
Got tickets… thanks heavens
Yea Guys USE internet explorer was FINALLY able to get my ticket. Only took over 1 hour lol.
Wait, so i was able to register for wait list, now the page on my phone says there are more tickets and i got in??????? WTH I’m glad I got them, but it sucks if they are adding more tickets after people gave up.
My group of 4 already registered, just waiting for confirmation email. Fingers crossed
Successfully got tickets for Waterbury CT, only took an hour, still waiting for confirmation email though.
Everyone USE INTERNET EXPLORER
Okay, I think the problem is that they reserve tickets even if the page won’t load so every time it failed they took off two tickets. Got in eventually, thank you page with a confirmation number and whatnot. What a mess.
It said I could register in which I jumped for joy.. I registered and it gave me an error which booted me back to the page in which it said it was sold out again….
Why does this list show “Cinemark Robinson Township with XD, 2100 Settlers Ridge Center Dr, Pittsburgh, PA 15205” , but when registering for the event that wasn’t an option. Instead it was “Pittsburgh North 11 9701 Mcknight Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15237” ?
@phil nice man i live in ct as well
I Agree with mlhor. Playstation knew that there would be thousands of people registering. They should have had better servers and they should have done it per region per day or something. I had tickets reserved while filling out my info and hit register and then got an “internal error message” so if this is internal, what is playstation doing for all those people who had reserved tickets to fill out their info. We all were like “yes! We got tickets!” And then NOPE!! Very very disappointing :(. And yet playstation hasn’t even said anything about the matter. Not even an apology
im on the waitlist for NYC, but kinda defeats the purpose going cuz even if you on the waitlist theres no way you will get in, and then you’ll miss most of the show because you gotta make your way back home.
holy crap finally got registered now the waiting for the email
This is unacceptable. I took an hour and 5mins of my work day to sit here and fill out a registration for what I thought were my tickets at least 7 or 8 times and now it says sold out. I have the page on my phone saying my tickets are reserved but the page has been sitting for 24mins as the count down for my reserved tickets goes to zero. This is ridiculous and I demand that someone contact me regarding this. I would not have been upset if I was not sitting here while it says YOUR TICKETS HAVE BEEN RESERVED FOR 30 mins and it will not submit. It is not my fault that your system is messed up, I was promised tickets and looks as though I am not getting them because its magically sold out when I have been doing this now for over 68 mins! Someone please contact me regarding this, I want the tickets I was told I had.
I registered an got a registration number but no confirmation email what do i do?
Hey everyone,
So because it hold tickets for 30min the site may say sold out, even though its not, just because so many people are “holding” tickets with crashed pages and many tabs/windows/browsers.
Mine said go on wait list and I refreshed a little later and it said reg again. So I think that’s as “holds” get cleared out more will pop up, so if you are on the wait list maybe keep checking, mostly if you got to the wait list page supper early into the reg being open. I could be wrong, but its worth a shot. Good luck!
to everyone who said use internet explorer thank u i got thru very very quickly
Keep trying! There are still tickets, I just got through on IE!
Hey, Do any of you know how we will be receiving the tickets? I accidently forgot to write the @ symbol in my email so i don’t think ill be getting one. Is the tickets digital or are they gonna mail it?
Just give it time rockey im sure they will soon. They prob gotta send out THOUSANDS of conformation emails. Just be happy that we were finally able to get tickets lol.
Just got my confirmation email after about 40 minutes since registering!
This was so unfair… I’ve been waiting for this since I woke up today. When the registers where finally open I tried like a thousand times to get in but the site kept crashing over and over… By the time I got to the register site the tickets for the Orlando area venue were sold out already… Thanks PlayStation!
I love these community events and really hope I get into the theater. I was refreshing the page from 11:55 to be first in line for tickets and over the next 60 minutes crept through to where I could put in my information three different times. It timed out each time and I finally got through only when the wait list was available. I will be extremely disappointed if I don’t get a seat after spending all that time. Sony, please consider a different ticket sales vendor in the future. Obviously these amateurs can’t handle the traffic load PS events will generate.
My group of three is done and I printed out the paper that shows my registration has been complete, so when I go June 15th They can’t say anything to me :D
OMG!!!! i retired again and i got thru for a ticket!!!!
It showed me the screen with my info and register number! Waiting on the email but i took a screen shot of it!!! OMG OMG OMG
Could not get 2 attendee’s to work (kept kicking me out). So I did mine individually took almost an hour but I don’t live in a very populated area. But got both tickets registered for Bozeman, MT.
“Why does this list show “Cinemark Robinson Township with XD, 2100 Settlers Ridge Center Dr, Pittsburgh, PA 15205″ , but when registering for the event that wasn’t an option. Instead it was “Pittsburgh North 11 9701 Mcknight Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15237″ ?”
That was the location last year. Nice to meet a fellow Pittsburgh user.
Alright. Now this is just retarded. It took me half an hour to get to the page for my theater and its sold out. Not only that but I cant get on the wait list because theres no option to select a canadian adress. The ****ing theater at the top of the page says Canada yet it asks me for a state. For any Canadians who actually got a ticket was that the case for you too?
I also like how the website works perfectly fine now. This event was organized by a 5 year old.
Hey sony, maybe you should have been punctual with that button because I didn’t see it at all at 9 PT so I waited and guess what? It didn’t show up until 10 PT. I’m considering moving consoles because of this.
I FINALLY GOT A TICKET TO THE MONTREAL THEATRE! Thank God man. See my fellow Canadians there!
Really wish you added more theaters near Vancouver BC Canada area… They sell out way too fast.
Oh boy. It finally says ‘sold out’ for me now! I guess that’s better than ‘Ended’
I don’t know about people getting tickets this late. I think the site glitched and its oversold.
Get some better eventgrid servers, your eventgrid servers are some bull****, you should know the kind of demand for something like this, yet if MS did this, they would have you beat down so far into the ground you would go bankrupt.
How could it oversell? Don’t they only have a certain # of ticket numbers and Registration #’s? I just got in somehow 10 minutes ago, after already registering for the “waiting list” … what a mess :/
I dunno. My 2 registration numbers are only 1K apart [I assume for what accounts for the reg. numbers from all the theaters], yet the reservations are over 10 mins apart.
And I already have one for the waiting list as well… Yikes. Wonder what will happen to that and where the reg. emails are for the 2 tickets :P
@optiquest9 the button showed up right on time. I was online at 12 PM EST and it worked.
@UghRochester: Same problem for Pittsburgh. I registered for the North 11 theater cause I didn’t know what else to do. Hoping the registration transfers over. I took screenshots of my confirmation and of the page where the Cinemark in Robinson should have been listed but wasn’t.
Hmm. Tried again and it’s no longer sold out. In fact, I got a confirmation number for my registration.
@SeanStrange glad you got in! See you there
WOOO!!! I just tried again and actually got 1 ticket to Santa Monica, CA. got my Number but no email yet but I got through even though it said sold out I refreshed and was able to get one! see you guys there!
@DreamGreed – I just got in for Vancouver. I suggest you try again
Got my Pittsburgh ticket! Hopefully there’s no issue as it still has the address for last year’s theater (which is closed down now lol)
FINALLY got through to register my 2 tickets for the San Antonio theater & got my confirmation email! CAN’T WAIT!! TBH, I very much expected that site to get A LOT of traffic this year compared to last year…
They added more tickets and guess what? I was right. They are asking for a State for a Canadian theater. Thats right. You cant get in if you live in Canada.
Yes! I finally got the confirmation email! ^_^
Can someone tell me how long it takes for them to send an E-mail?
We got 4 for SLC between me and my friends, keep trying as the “reserved” tickets that crashed will time out eventually.
Don’t give up, keep refreshing the page if it says sold out.
I got 3 tickets for the Austin theatre… Where the hell is my conformation email?! I still love you PlayStation but you need to pick it up baby.
