Whenever I interact with the PlayStation community I’m always struck by their passion and excitement for gaming. I saw this firsthand at E3 2014, when I teamed up with PlayStation and Fathom Events to bring the E3 Press Conference live to over 10,000 fans around the country as part of the PlayStation E3 Experience in movie theaters. It was amazing to see fans line up all across America to experience the news and announcements live with others in the community.
This year I’m happy to announce that the PlayStation E3 Experience will return on Monday, June 15. Due to the quick sell-outs in 2014, we will be staging it in significantly more theaters — and yes, it will still be free. Last year tickets in most markets sold out in 15 minutes or less, so for 2015 we are increasing the number of theaters by more than 150%, with at least one theater in every state across the US — including Hawaii and Alaska — plus 3 cities in Canada.
You and fellow members of the PlayStation community will get to see the full PlayStation E3 press conference in HD on the big screen, plus there are special bonuses for those who come out to the theater experience. I’ll be hosting an exclusive 30-minute in-theater post show with extended footage and interviews with developers, and everyone who attends will take home a PlayStation surprise, which will consist of PlayStation goods and digital codes we can’t disclose yet. (Last year attendees received early access to the Destiny Alpha and Battlefield: Hardline beta, along with a great poster and VIP laminate).
To make it fair to everyone in the community, this year we are giving you advance notice of ticket sales. Free tickets will be made available on Wednesday, May 27 starting at 9:00 a.m. PT at playstation.com/e3experience. Eighty percent of theater capacity will be reserved for ticket holders, with 20% of the theater held for those on the wait list, who will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. We saw the big lines last year and want to make sure that everyone has a fair chance to be in the theater.
The PlayStation.Blog guys also tell me that their big PlayStation LiveCast show will be back again in a big way, kicking off with the PlayStation Press Conference on June 15th, starting at 5:45 p.m. Pacific Time. They’ll have plenty of game demos, new trailers, and developer interviews over the next three days – and you’ll be able to watch on your PS4 or PS3 using the Live Events Viewer app, too. WTH sony. I was on at 8:58 and clicked the get tickets button the second it popped up and i get stuck in server crashes and now says its sold out in my area. 35 minutes of error screens to not get tickets when i was on it the second it was available. This is really lame guys. Not a good start to my E3. Please make this right.
Well this sucks BIG TIME. Tickets are sold out in Montreal. I actually got to the part where I had reserved the tickets and was putting in my personal info when it kicked me out. Now it’s saying I need to join a wait list. Really really disappointed how this was all handled. For shame Sony.

Really, Really bummed – I had “reserved” seats via their system, and as I submitted my email / etc – the whole system crashed and said it “notified the tech team” – turns out, now all the tickets are gone, and their system did not actually “reserve” my seats…really bad experience. :/
I was entering in my name and address info then when I hit register I got an “Internal error”. Now it shows as sold out in my state! :(
Santa Monica, CA sold out but I got 2 wait list passes. even though I got through 3 times and registered for general admission but was sent to blank pages -_-
Theater listing for Pittsburgh says “North 11 Theater” which is now closed. The theater list on the post says the Cinemark theater is the one for this year, but it isn’t listed on the site at all. I went ahead and registered for the only theater listed for Pittsburgh (North 11), but I’m worried that this will cause a problem. I’m hoping it’s just a cosmetic detail and the registration saved. Any idea?

Just great. I filled in all of my information, TWICE. Get back to the theater page after being booted and now it’s sold out. Next time, don’t give exact time for ticket availability in your advance notice please. Give us a time range so that the server isn’t instantly bogged down the the entire fanbase.

Supposedly, I managed to complete registration and got a confirmation number and everything, but I haven’t gotten an email yet. The website developer in me knows that the server is probably taking forever to send them out since the site is taking forever to load, but I’m damn impatient. xD Good luck to everyone else!
So wait list basically means we’ll get to be at the front of the lines come monday the 15th, ahead of others in line who aren’t on the wait list?
Took 38 minutes with the site crashing multiple times just to tell me it is sold out and to be placed on a waiting list. BS! Last year there was tons of extra room at the theater. They changed venues to a smaller location this year.
I think due to the high volume of people trying, they’ve made all theatres sold out and they’ll send tickets out to people who are on the waiting list one by one in order. Just my 2 cents because doesn’t make sense how fast it sold out yet I bet everyone was having issues getting on no matter how fast your internet speed is.

Oh wait !! I got a ticket for Boston! They now have different seating options (the 20% they were talking about?) go in and you can only select (1) ticket for (1) person. Better than nothing I suppose. Waiting for confirmation. My brother said it’s fine if he doesn’t get to go.
