UPDATE: Since we’ve received a lot of comments asking which movie theaters will be participating, we’ve added the list to the bottom of this post. As a reminder, tickets will be made available at http://playstation.com/e3experience tomorrow (Wednesday, May 27th) at 9:00am PT.
Whenever I interact with the PlayStation community I’m always struck by their passion and excitement for gaming. I saw this firsthand at E3 2014, when I teamed up with PlayStation and Fathom Events to bring the E3 Press Conference live to over 10,000 fans around the country as part of the PlayStation E3 Experience in movie theaters. It was amazing to see fans line up all across America to experience the news and announcements live with others in the community.
This year I’m happy to announce that the PlayStation E3 Experience will return on Monday, June 15. Due to the quick sell-outs in 2014, we will be staging it in significantly more theaters — and yes, it will still be free. Last year tickets in most markets sold out in 15 minutes or less, so for 2015 we are increasing the number of theaters by more than 150%, with at least one theater in every state across the US — including Hawaii and Alaska — plus 3 cities in Canada.

You and fellow members of the PlayStation community will get to see the full PlayStation E3 press conference in HD on the big screen, plus there are special bonuses for those who come out to the theater experience. I’ll be hosting an exclusive 30-minute in-theater post show with extended footage and interviews with developers, and everyone who attends will take home a PlayStation surprise, which will consist of PlayStation goods and digital codes we can’t disclose yet. (Last year attendees received early access to the Destiny Alpha and Battlefield: Hardline beta, along with a great poster and VIP laminate).
To make it fair to everyone in the community, this year we are giving you advance notice of ticket sales. Free tickets will be made available on Wednesday, May 27 starting at 9:00 a.m. PT at playstation.com/e3experience. Eighty percent of theater capacity will be reserved for ticket holders, with 20% of the theater held for those on the wait list, who will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. We saw the big lines last year and want to make sure that everyone has a fair chance to be in the theater.
The PlayStation.Blog guys also tell me that their big PlayStation LiveCast show will be back again in a big way, kicking off with the PlayStation Press Conference on June 15th, starting at 5:45 p.m. Pacific Time. They’ll have plenty of game demos, new trailers, and developer interviews over the next three days – and you’ll be able to watch on your PS4 or PS3 using the Live Events Viewer app, too. Stay tuned for more details.

i was rushing and filled the birthday wrong for my guest, hoping it’s irrelevant at the door. Still no confirmation email for me. I screencapped the page just in case.
Congrats to those who secured theirs and sorry for those who missed out.
Well, I spent an hour and a half trying but can’t get a ticket. Good work, Sony. I officially give up.
got my confirmation mail, youhou!
After filling out over a dozen registrations one of them finally went through, now I just have to wait for the email. This was exhausting.
Also got three more tickets for friends for the Montreal theatre, What a hectic couple of hours…
no confirmation email yet
Did anything get a email yet?
The nearest one to me is in Dallas and the drive isn’t worth it to me. I like that these E3 Experience things are done, but I really wish locations expand out so I wouldn’t have to drive 50+ miles to get to nearest one.
First time they put me on a waiting list (what is it?)
and second time they say i’ve got ticket but i dont have any email confirmation yet. Its normal?
It’s funny, I just refreshed the page (after it saying “sold out” a few minutes ago yet again…), and now it’s taking even more registrations… well, I already have one registration confirmation / “ticket” for the SF theater, guess we’ll see what happens.
Not to sound like a smartass but really if SONY was smart they would have charged $10 for this event, and had it in more theaters. There’s obviously BIG demand for it, so why not give fans what they want and make a little money off of it too?
This is similar to how the THOUSANDS of SOCOM fans who voted for the classic style SOCOM games to be remade don’t get why it’s likely the ONLY big 1st party ps2 franchise that sony HASN’T remade, even though it was THE #1 most voted for request on SONY’s blog / share website. I know why they haven’t remade it (because they’re afraid of “risks”), but that’s not a SMART evaluation. Listening to thousands of your fans who want the most popular online shooter to return is not a “risk”, it’s smart…
So cmon SONY. Show us you listen to your hardcore fans and let us know you’ll be making a classic socom at e3. Maybe I’ll be in a theater to hear you.. maybe :P
Ok… It’s been Damn near an hour and still no email. I’m getting antsy dude! Now I’m wondering if I should try redoing it… Omg
My Fellow Californians! San Diego and SF still have tickets I see, but Looks like Los Angeles (Santa Monica) is Sold out. Wow one of the more populated Cities and its one theater lol If you’re going to Santa Monica I got one ticket at least.
Still no email.
I need my confirmation email D:
Protip: Next time try to find a company that doesn’t have servers that will melt-down.
I clicked the link BEFORE 12:oo eastern and spent 5-10 minutes waiting for the theater list to load, 7 mins getting the Times Square NYC link to load, then 5 mins after I hit register, got a 502 error. rewalked through, hit register, and 6 mins later Got a screen to input info, with a 30 min countdown. Put info in, hit submit with about 29 mins left. sometime after I was down to 23 minutes, got a screen saying there was a server issue. Tried to reload, only standby seats left.
Thanks for the super fun lunch break! It was totally worth the nothing I got for it!
If anyone has an extra ticket for Toronto, hit me up on PSN – Makinen.
Much appreciated.
Had no troubles. Logged on an hour after release and got a confirmation no problemo.
I got a confirmation email 10 minutes after registering.
Got tickets but waiting for confirmation email
455 I’m driving over 2 hours away to go to this event in Nebraska I know it will b worth it
Man once again Tampa is overlooked but Jacksonville really? That place is a ghosttown.
No surprise….my home city of Detroit, MI isn’t listed. :(
I hope you all have your registration confirmation # just in case (;
+ Pedrito79 You would be surprised. Last year, the Avenues 20 theater had a lot of people who showed up for the event. It wasn’t extremely crowded like I’m sure the other theaters were but we did have a good turn out. :)
I made 2 extras just to be sure… No confirmation email for the previous 2 either… What is this?
Make sure you all print out your registration confirmation Page or registration confirmation # just in case they don’t send you an E-mail!! So when you get to the Event you can show them.
Toronto is sold out with no option to be put on a waitlist.
If the demand is that high then maybe they should open it up to 2 theatres @ Yonge & Dundas Square.
-OR-
Present the keynote in the Square itself on all the billboards.
That would be epic.
ok its been an hour and a half since i got my ticket but no email yet whats taking so long……….
Friends and I finally managed to get tickets to Union Square here in NYC (we were there last year too!), so damn hyped for it! Granted, trying to get tickets at 12pm on the dot was a massive clusterf*** and we had almost given up at around 12:40pm but just for kicks, I went back and gave it a shot around 1pm and sure enough, it let me through and I was able to snag a ticket. Friends managed to do it as well 10 minutes later.
Just waiting on email confirmation but I saved the confirmation web page regardless just in case!
I got my registration number yet I have not received my email yet. What gives? Its been over an hour an a half.
Awesome got my tickets but am worried due to the fact i have not received my emails yet? normal? And for everyone else ladies and gents, click refresh a lot, sold out sometimes magically turns into Available!
Yeah same for me boredoutamamind
Very happy to see Hawaii on the list of places to have an event like this. We usually get shafted from things like this since we are so far away from the mainland.
Since this will be my first event like this, Exactly how would this work? I just reserved and im sure ill get an email confirmation, but what happens after that? do i need to print out my ticket, or will the theater know who i am (i would guess with this theyll have my name and i would need to show them some form of ID) i just want to make sure i know if im doing everything right, and not get there when the time comes and tell me i cant get in!
still no email
Please answer my question. I ended up getting “waiting list” tickets for Toronto. If 80% of the theatre seats are given out as “good” tickets and 20% are given as “waiting list” tickets, doesn’t it mean there is a seat for me? Am I supposed to be there hours early hoping to get in? I need to know this. If I am part of the 100% of tickets given out there shouldn’t there be room for me?
Error message every time I register. Tried multiple machines, browsers, wifi and 3g. Always an internal error that support staff is supposed to be working on page that cycles me back to the event. Getting sick of this.
Still waiting for my 4 emails to be sent to me
No confirmation e-mail yet. Just to be sure, printed the confirmation on the site. Probably should’ve made sure it was working fully beforehand.
It’s been over an hour since I got confirmations for 3 individual tickets but still no emails to any of the 3 email addresses. What is going on? I am going to be upset If I drive over 90 mins to find out I can’t get in the theatre.
Oh crap, I just moved and realized the address on my drivers license has my old address and i put in my new address. Anyone think this will be an issue?
I re-did the entire process and managed to still reserve tickets. This time I wasn’t stupid and actually saved my conformation number. But still.. No email.
@487 – buckethead13
I don’t see it as a problem. As long as you can confirm you are [First name] [Last name] you should be okay. They may ask you what your date of birth is, phone number and email upon entry.
@482: If you’re on the waiting list, then you have to show up early (really early, depending on which area you live in) and you’re NOT guaranteed to get in. I was on the waiting list last year and all ticket holders enter, get the free swag, and are seated before anyone on the waiting list gets in. After that, it’s first come, first serve. If you’re on the waiting list and show up late, you may as well have not shown up.
Hey, me and my friends all didn’t get any email but we made it to the last page. Even got a ticket number.
I saved my confirmation # & still no e-mail. Everyone record your confirmation #’s add to your calendar so it’ll be saved and readily accessible when going to the theater.
Waiting list is first come first serve.. they put 2x the 20% on the waiting list. They will let the tic holder go in first. after a certain time any tic holder don’t show up they start filling seats with waiting list people. So depending how many people a’re no show.. there can be more than the 20 % people who on the waiting list can get in. My advice is if you on the waiting list and want to get in.. be there early.
Just got confirmation email 3 minutes ago. (2:54pm EST)
I’m definitely not happy I tried over and over at work to get tickets and when i got to the page where you put your information and it said your tickets are guaranteed for the allotted time i get an error after submitting my information. I went last year to the exact santa monica location and it was a blast…. It’s not anyones fault but man I hate technology sometimes xD
It says 17 with valid ID – but can’t kids under attend with a parent or guardian? Need an answer on this also – tickets going fast.
Nope no kids allow
