@ZChromosome: ThumbsOfSteel is correct. Any discussion there’s been about not being able to buy games we’ve gotten through Plus, has been about not being able to buy them WHILE we are subscribed. If your Plus expires, you’ll be able to buy anything you’ve received through Plus. I can confirm this, as I was able to buy LBPK during this sale, despite getting it through Plus.
@Orpheus_Aeons: I would still keep suggesting people try it. Can’t hurt, if you can spare the time. I’d like to have faith that the multiple people that have stated they were able to do it, aren’t all liars. But as you and I have said, it’s probably a matter of luck. Or like I said, they did it in the past, but weren’t supposed to. That could come down to contractual obligations or something of the sort. If they can be sued for removing a Plus game’s license from someone’s account, you really can’t blame Sony for not wanting to do it. But, as always, we can only speculate these things since Sony communication with its customers seems to be one of the most awful things in existence. :/
@177 Nickokapo : Judging by your username, I’m guessing you’re from some South American country. If that’s the case…then my suggestion: use MercadoLibre. You will have to pay a small “extra” for them…but no fuzz about the cards thing over there. ;)
@191 ZChromosome : That is correct. You can’t buy the “complete” version if you already bought the “vanilla” one. And it’s my understanding that currently you CAN’T buy just the expansion. Only through the “complete” version. Lastly, I don’t think Namco Bandai will make a Ni NO Kuni port…so grab it while you can, because IMO it’s one of THE BEST GAMES OF ALL TIME. =)

But there’s a catch: Let’s say you decided (for whatever reason) to delete such a game while you make the really dumb (IMO) decision to subscribe again to PS Minus–err…I mean Plus. Well…in that case, you better NOT re-download the game again…or your “Bought” License will be forever gone…with a new & shiny “Free” one. Get it? Sony at its best. >_>
I also chatted with a support member who told me (on the first day of the sale) that Jeopardy was DEFINITELY part of the sale, and that it would be updated in the coming hours (two days ago) to reflect the sale price. I saved the chat logs as well. I never got a response from @AskPlaystation either.
@202 DamagingRob : It’s not that, dude. If they start removing “free” games out of everybody’s DL lists…they lose one of the “enticing” elements of re-subscribing. The service is garbage, so only wealthy people will keep subscribing “just because”…
On the other hand, let’s say you got a huge backlog of really good games thanks to Plus (imposible atm…but probable in the past)…you may end up deciding to renew ONLY because you’re too “afraid” to lose all that juicy “loot”. See my point? ;)
As always with Sony (and a lot of other multi-billion companies)…it’s just a matter of $$$. It has nothing to do with “lawsuit fear” or “technical problems”. Just a matter of pure ol’ GREED. -_-

@Orpheus_Aeons: That is one pretty nasty catch, if true. Probably not an issue, if you don’t ever plan on resubscribing. But I’m gonna want to play online with my future PS4 someday, I’m sure. And when there’s a big sale, where buying a month of Plus saves me money on what I want with extra discounts, I usually temporarily subscribe.
Seems like it would be better to let people buy the games, if they wanted to be greedy. But maybe that’s why I’m not running a mega gaming corporation. :P With the PS4, you have to have Plus if you want to play online, so it’s more unlikely that PS4 owners would unsubscribe if they were able to buy the games.
And with PS3 on its way out and the Vita in the minority, I would think letting those subcribers buy the games would be a better idea than trying to make them want to stay subscribed, as well. A lot of these PS3 games can be bought dirt cheap at GameStop or something, too, so I wouldn’t think someone would keep paying $50 yearly to keep the few that they want.
So, if that is the reason, it seems like a silly reason to me.

Do you think you could download LBPK and see if you’re able to connect to multiplayer, please? I’ve heard a few reports of the digital version having issues with online functionality (unless you already registered an online pass back in 2013 or so).
Would appreciate confirmation of whether online is working now or still supposedly broken.

The blog is really dropping the ball lately. Sales no listed in the Store update, the Drop not even posted… I want to believe it’s a hard job and takes a lot of time, but deep down I really don’t. It’s something so simple and fundamental. Why can’t it be done properly?
@NahDoot: I’ll try, but it’s probably gonna take a bit. I did get it downloaded and installed earlier today(lucky it wasn’t The Raven that got queued up first ^^’), but it’s got a ton of patches.. I don’t have the fastest download speeds, so it’s looking like it may be another half hour or so, before I can boot it up.
And while I did have it through Plus, I never downloaded it, so I shouldn’t have an online pass registered.

No problem. I was interested in it, too, but didn’t know all this about the online before purchasing, or I might have passed.. It looks like the only way to get it to work, is to buy a physical copy with an unused online pass code. The digital version’s online appears to be broken; I just keep getting a “Connection Lost” message when trying to access the online portion of the game.
Thanks, that’s what I was afraid of. You can probably contact Sony via livechat and have them issue you a refund since the game is non-functional online. There are a few threads on various forums you can point them to for proof, some dating all the way back to October 2014.
Pretty sad that a first party title can be broken for so long. I had a friend recently purchase a sealed copy of Uncharted 3 and the online pass refused to register, just gave an error message over and over.
So I’m not sure even buying a physical copy today would help, I think only people that pre-registered an online pass sometime in 2013 or prior are able to play, and only on that particular console, because the removal of the pass from the store means it can’t be re-downloaded to another console (which we tried with Uncharted 3 on my friend’s machine, signing in with my online pass enabled account without success).
This is why DRM schemes like this are just unhealthy for the customer. Hope you can get your money back.

Is there anyway this sale can be extended? After psn went down I was and still currently not able to add funds to my account. According to playstation support I have to wait 48 to be able to redeem a code wich sucks because I was really looking foward tl this sale, I rushed out to buy a psn card and everything only to be upset by the fact I can’t take place in this sale. It would really be great if the sale got extended because I am sure I am nlt the only one having this problem.
Is injustice the ultimate edition or just the regular?
Ultimately picked up Mass Effect Collection (how -couldn’t- I?!), Entwined, Pac-Man Museum (nabbed that Ms. Pac-Man add-on back at launch), and LBP Vita (now I’ve all ‘cept LBP3, though I’ll need to plumb my still unsortable/unsearchable Download List to resurface my pre-order promo outfits).
Was also considering Freedom Wars (and, lesser degree, Soul Sacrifice Delta) to bolster demand for retail-tier Vita productions, but remembered I never caught on to hunter games… Also passed on Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational, since I have it for PS3 and suddenly have a sizable backlog now that I have a Vita proper (but seriously, things like Disgaea 3 have no reason NOT to be PSTV-compatible, and I’m still hella disappointed that Brave Story: New Traveler’s only means of download is from the List on a Vita; can’t even transfer it PS3->Vita!).
Feels like I had half’a this already, thanks to Plus and sales, but that ain’t shabby. Due to run outta Plus in 2016, though, so how ’bout a subscription promo again?!

Huh. I bought a used copy of Uncharted 3 and my pass worked(still haven’t started it, though :/), so that surprises me. This was probably early 2014, though, as I bought it not too long after getting my PS3.
There was a thread on PlaystationTrophies .org, where people posting this year, were reporting the physical method working. So I might try it someday, assuming I do get a refund(not buying it twice, that’s for sure). If not, I’ll just have to live with it. Other than maybe trying to get the trophies for the Plat, I probably wasn’t going to play the online much, anyways. That’s usually the only reason/time I’ll play online; mostly stick to single player.
The really sad thing is, this is now the second time something like this has happened to me. Portal 2 is a similar situation, where if you buy a physical copy, you can get online no problem. You buy the game digitally, and it’s pretty much another LBPK scenario.
I bought Peggle 2 on ps4 and it says next to it rent not buy? Does anyone know what that means? I didn’t just waste 5 dollars did I?

That is a great idea actually, i’ve been getting a few cards from HK to buy discontinued game, i guess it’ll be the only way to fund my PSN account from now on…with these discounts tho, it’s still worth it.
Well, i finally managed to get a prepaid card from ebay through a friend who was able to make the payment due to his account being verified, just in time for this sale!Because, mercadolibre is pretty great but most sellers won’t take paypal and i don’t have cash money at the ready to give them in exchange for the card codes.
Grabbed 2 games c: one of them being LBPK, would have probably snatched mamoru-kun curse & raiden iv too if i hadn’t gotten them early this month from the japanese golden week sale.
I’d have liked LBP2 and ace combat aswell, but probably won’t make it by now, i’m lucky to have these 2 to begin with.

@203 Orpheus_Aeons: Thanks. I wasn’t aware of that. Yet another good reason why they should allow people to remove those “free” licenses to make room for the ones reflecting a full purchase.
I have always believed that the main reason Plus members can’t buy games received via the IGC is to discourage people from letting their subscriptions lapse (since the “free” games are tied to one’s subscription). But now I’m not so sure it isn’t just a technical issue coupled with laziness. I don’t think many would quit Plus even if they were allowed to buy every single game ever given away for “free”. And think of all the revenue that would generate.
I believe most people use Plus as a way to try some games at no additional cost, and that many of them would buy the ones they liked if they could while still keeping their Plus memberships. I don’t think Sony can lose by changing their policy on this.
I just realized that Chieh Chen’s post says “[the sale] ends at 9:00 a.m. Pacific on Monday, May 18″…but the Sale’s JPEG says “OFFERS END 5/18 11AM PT”.
So which is it?? Is it over or do we still have around 90 minutes? o.O

*Sigh* Guess I’m out $5, if I ever do decide to buy a physical copy. All sales are final, so they won’t provide a refund. They also seem to not want to admit there is a problem, and suggest it’s something with your system/network. I was told to troubleshoot my network, initialize my PS3, delete and redownload the game, and check to see if the system and game were both fully updated. So kinda late, but BUYER BEWARE.
Freedom Wars is too soon. That is like offering Bloodborne for 10$ this Christmas. While others call it “Vita love”, I call it abandonment.

@ThumbsOfSteel74 Yeah, I wished Sony did that. They have nothing to lose and people should be able to buy games they already own though PS+. After all, they are some that want to own a specific game permanently instead of temporary.

There should be some extension to this flash sale due to psn being down for some users, in my personal experience I tried to add funds however it was unfortunate to see that your psn store was down once again.
You guys should consider some kind of notification system for Flash Sales (similar to updates when new episodes of Powers came out).
I always tend to find out about these sales Monday after they’re over.
Tried to get some of the specials earlier today, couldn’t get access to the store the last day and a half due to service outages.

Oh Damn… I missed the sale, I thought it was still available today -_- just wanna ask when the next psn flash sale will be?
I couldn’t get what I wanted because first PSN was down, then I was forced to change my password which required for
me to wait for an email that took some time to arrive. Oh well.
Yeah well so far LittleBigPlanet Karting has been down loading for 25 hours and no light at the end of the tunnel. Also LBP 2 took an age to down load and so far looking at 3 hours to install as PSN keeps dropping. Any one else having these issues?
Saying that great sale, I missed the last one by a few hours so never got to get a hold of Mafia 2 and a few others, hope to see them back again. Now back to watching paint dry.
