Bloodborne Sells One Million, First 1.03 Details

We are amazed and very grateful for the way in which the community has embraced Bloodborne. As you may have seen, we’ve just announced that Bloodborne has now sold through over one million copies worldwide. Thank you to everyone who has supported the project!

We also wanted to provide more information regarding the next patch for Bloodborne.

As we confirmed previously, the 1.03 update seeks to reduce certain load times in addition to performance optimizations. The patch also resolves an issue that resulted in abnormal game behavior after many continuous hours of play. Additional fixes will be included as well.

Bloodborne, Hunter

The team is currently working towards a global release of the 1.03 patch before the end of the month. We will try to provide more specific timing as soon as we are able.

We’re continuing to monitor popular communities and forums for feedback, in addition to the comments below, so please share any other issues or questions you may have.

Please note: online play will need to be disabled for a short period of time to facilitate server-side updates. In this case, and in the case of any future server maintenance downtime, it has been determined that starting at 1am PT on a non-Friday weeknight will disrupt the fewest players. We will target this time for any necessary future server maintenance downtime, which will only last a couple hours in each instance.

On behalf of the Bloodborne development team, thank you for your ongoing passion and support.

Network Issues for Certain users

  • Congratulations on reaching 1 million sale, bloodborne will keep selling strong. The game is a materpiece, please continue adding more content and start working on a sequel !

  • screw load times fix pvp and pve connection issues

  • So far my experience with the game has been fantastic, being basically the only game I’ve played since Bloodborne’s release date, but I have a small complaint about relative gem drop rates in chalice dungeons. Specific kinds of gems are extremely difficult to find where physical gems are basically everywhere, and I feel like this limits the potential of non-physical based characters.

  • My favorite to have played in a long time, I myself was not a huge fan of Dark Souls 2 but loved the first one to pieces and this really gave me, and will continue to do so, some awesome memories, but I am missing one. Eileen the Crow, I have never ever seen her not because I don’t know where she is but because she is glitches/bugged and has never appeared for any of my characters. So please take this info consideration and I know I’m not the only one. Thank you for your time, amazing game!

  • You can easily access your preferred power options.

  • Amazing game, brutal, beautiful and intensely rewarding. Just the elevator bug to get to ebrietas is a total pain.

  • I seriously think AI should be more aggressive in some cases. Some monsters should chase you until you either kill them or they can’t pursue you due to an obstacle like you being on a roof or something. Too many people just run through the game and only fight the boss and brag about how easy the game is which i think is cheesy.
I think the insight mechanic is awesome and has so much potential. I mean there could be weapons that have unlock-able abilities at certain insight thresh holds, graphic effects like maybe auras, or other effects!

I also think Fromsoft should pull a page from the recent P.T. game and have a monster show up if you are AFK for too long or one that will constantly stalk you in certain areas thats unkillable (ala prince of persia ^_^)

  • This game is awesome! Managed to find a used copy on ebay from someone that hated it due to difficulty for only $30 and grabbed a Collectors Edition from someone on ebay that just could not find any biders for some reason for $35 lol! Woohoo! All this game needs is a Stereoscopic 3D patch for people with awesome 4K3D, and 1080p 3DTV sets, and a patch for REAL REAL fast loading times, and this game is freaking GOLDEN!!

Now Give us a SEQUEL that is also EXCLUSIVE that has 3D support on day one, PLUS bring us Demons Souls Remastered in 1080p 60FPS, all glitches fixed, and 3D SUPPORT and you have a customer for LIFE! Oh I also found Dark Souls II for PS4 for $25 on ebay! I feel so lucky! I love the Souls series, and Bloodborne is the cream of the crop! Keep the support and sequels coming!

  • The matchmaking isn’t just checking NAT type and opening ports. We’ve tried for hours on end to get consistent online interaction, and it just WON’T happen. This game is amazing, and yes, the PvE community is a HUGE part of the “Souls” games longevity, but the PvP community is what really does it. I advise that you listen to our tweets/comments and issues with connectivity and get some fix for it ASAP. If not, the game can and will die. Otherwise, this game is so amazing, and I’m so happy it’s done so well.

  • the only issues I have with bloodborne co-op is when I try to play with a friend. Some areas we connect up without much delay and other areas like byrgenwerth for example is impossible. But in the same area with randoms its not an issue. Forwarded ports and the issue still persists.

  • Finished the game (3 umbilical moon beastie ending), and loved it. I played completely offline so havnt had the Co op issues but the loading times fix is good..
A way to increase max qs bullets (beyond the +3 +4 runes) to make the spells more usable (maybe link to high arcane or bloodtinge stat). Also would make dual wielding/cannon/repeater more feasible.
Also an actual beast transformation rather than a meter (look at father Gascoigne! )
Lastly I really would have liked to be able to improve armour.
Probably wish listing but I guess that’s kinda what this is.
Congrats again and I’m off to buy ps4 dark souls 2 this weekend.
