While developing the PlayStation 4 system, our hardware and software teams relied on feedback from our community of developers. The result is the most innovative and forward-thinking gaming console in the market today. Since launch, PlayStation has continued that trend of listening to feedback by bringing some of the most highly requested features from the PlayStation Nation to PS4 with each of our system software updates. When we unveiled PS4 two years ago, we announced Suspend/Resume, a feature that would enable PS4 users to jump in and out of their games faster than ever. This has been a feature gamers have been excited about since then, and today I am honored to officially confirm that system software update 2.50, “Yukimura,” will soon deliver Suspend/Resume, as well as a number of other requested features to PS4.
Suspend/Resume, which will be supported by nearly all PS4 titles, will create an atmosphere where your games are immediately available at any time — just pick up your DualShock 4 wireless controller, hit the PS button and get right back into the action of your games. When it’s time to log off, simply put your PS4 in Rest Mode and when you power up the next time, you’ll start your game where you left off. Spend less time getting into your games and more time playing them.
Here are some of the other highly requested new features and changes coming soon in “Yukimura:”
- Sub-account to Master account Upgrade: Users with a sub-account will now be able to upgrade to a master account directly from their PS4 when they turn 18, removing restrictions for chat, enabling users to fund their own wallet, make purchases and more. Currently, users can upgrade their sub-accounts online at https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/.
- Facebook Friend Search: Gamers globally have jumped into PS4 as a redefined social gaming experience and connecting with friends over the network is a huge part of what makes the PS4 community so special. PlayStation now lets you go even bigger by connecting with your Facebook friends on PS4 using your linked account. Search for Facebook friends who are PlayStation Network members and build on the foundation of Friends you already have in your list.
- Remote Play & Share Play at 60 fps: For games that support 60 fps, the ability to customize the frame rate of Remote Play and Share Play will be added with “Yukimura.” Play to your bandwidth strengths and use this option to stream gameplay at 60 or 30 fps when using Remote Play or Share Play on supported devices.
- Accessibility Options: “Yukimura” introduces a wide variety of options to make their PS4 entertainment experience even more accessible. Options include text to speech, enlarged text, bolder fonts, higher contrast UI, zoom for displayed pictures, invert colors on screen and more. Users will also be able to reassign buttons for DualShock 4, making it easier for users with limited manual dexterity or limited reach and strength to play.
- Trophy Improvements: We have received a ton of feedback to improve Trophies. In “Yukimura,” a screenshot will automatically be captured at the moment a Trophy is earned, making it easier than ever for you to share your greatest gaming moments with your friends. We’re also adding more sorting options along with the new ability to remove games from the Trophy list that have 0% completion.
- Share Video Clips to Dailymotion: When sharing standout PS4 moments via the Share button on DualShock 4, “Yukimura” will allow players to upload directly to Dailymotion.

what about external hard drive like to move games to the external drive and be able to play them from the external hard drive we are running out of space
How about the options to video chat while in a party, and the option to change our pan ids. Had the same name for the last 4 years. Think its time for a name change.

You CAN download not compressed by social media file version by using a flash drive, but native quality of jpgs is very bad, from 100 to 400 kbs for a fullHD file(it should be at least >3MB), very deeply compressed images with tons of artifacts and losed colors and details. Sometimes you can grab a decent picture, but the compression-algorythm is very random. First image from this infamous article is made by capture card and is PNG(from neogaf)! My 720p capture card makes much more clean images even if you scale them to 1080p in comparision to native fullhd ps4-share-screenshots.
The interesting part is that even developers don’t know about this problem due to fact that DEVKITS make screenshots fully uncompressed(i talked about it with one of the driveclub developers, eye to eye). The feature is already is there! One change in one line of code is needed.
And all I want is the ability to appear offline. And be able to share my videos on my ps4 with my ps4 friends.
Bluetooth remote support is a must. I currently use my PS3 for streaming apps and Blu-ray because of this. Specifically hoping for harmony smart control/hub support that Xbox one has had since launch.
PLEASE add a reliable way to immediately see the Trophies of the CURRENT game! Trophies don’t always appear in the Overview page, and going to Trophies does NOT show the currently launched game on TOP like it should! Gods, I hope you fixed this!!!
On the subject of avatars, I’d like to see more game related ones. It’d be cool if new sets were released along side games.
I honestly find most of the generic themes and art on PSN to be kind of tacky. I feel like I’m at one of those airbrush t-shirt stands everytime I look at what’s available.

so only games with 0%??? damn….I have a lot games/trophies I will be able to remove that i didn’t play or like…but…sad that there will still be trophies I don’t want to show off in my list….like dragon age inquisition…4% completion…didn’t enjoyed the game…got rid of it….now I’m stuck with that 4%?? :( :( :( none the less good update and will hope for the best to come. thanks =\
A Pandora app would be nice too. I am looking forward to the new Spotify partnership but I use Pandora a LOT.
I agree with comments #153 and #190. Why limit it to games at 0%? I have games on my trophy list that I want rid of!!! UFC 2010 (17%) is unplatinumable because the online servers have been shut down, I want to be able to delete this from my profile. Top Spin 4 (67%) online is horrible, I have no desire to continue and I want to delete the trophies from my profile. Starting Apotheon (1%) was a mistake. I want to be able to delete it. If I want to delete my Hannah Montana (100%) trophies I should be able to.
Also, I want to be able to use trophy art as my avatar.

I would like to see PS+ Save Cloud storage increase since some games have some ridiculous file size, for example Apotheon has 300MB+ file size!

It would be great if…
I could chose which games stayed in the main menu or the library. Having the option to show the last 15 is nice, but I’d like to choose the tiles that stay visible and the ones that stay hidden from view in the library. Such as ,Share Factory or Music Unlimited, both of which I don’t use.
I wasn’t really excited until I saw the new trophy stuff. With the IGC, I’ve racked up quite a few 0% completions. And an optional automatic screenshot mechanic sounds really appealing to me. However, I would like to see some improvements:
– Sort by Date Earned / Alphabetically / Completion Rate
– View Screenshot directly when inspecting trophy
– Average Completion Rate (Show this at the top of your list, showing the average of all your completion rates. This should inspire quite a few completionists)
Having video chat would increase the value of the PS Camera. I’ll still use mine only for streaming, but I’m certain others would appreciate it, especially if there’s some kind of snap-esque feature. Given that most games are giving it negligible support at best, perhaps this could be another big feature for it?
And please, localize the Toro Inoue PS4 theme. That’s the only theme I’ll ever need.
Get rid of trophies all together,they really are pointless. All they do is cause a list of unwanted clutter.
Why are people asking for avatars when you can freely change your profile picture to ANYTHING you want through the PlayStation App. Just tap your profile icon at the to right>Profile>Edit Profile>Add Profile Picture. Easy right?

I welcome all the new features.. The 0% trophy delete is wonderful.. The other people asking for like 2 or 4 % or something random like that don’t understand the big picture… If it was situated like that then you could just delete whatever trophies you wanted.

Why do we STILL not have the option to appear offline? I feel like that’s been a staple for online play almost since…the existence of online play with platforms with integrated friends lists.
I’m not alone in wanting this, there’s always a popular thread going on in the suggestion forum here and on gaming forums elsewhere.
In one of the earlier comments you guys replied to, you wanted the person to compare side by side the feature lists of Xbox One and PS4 and let you know what you’re missing,

How about the ability to group or tag your Friends List? With the Friend limit at 2000 going through the list to find certain friends takes too long. Like for example, group friends into Close Friends, Co-Workers, Killzone Team, etc then you can send a message to appropriate group when you want an online match.

Why does ps4 not recognize ps vita? Why does a sony phone connect to a ps4 ds4 but not the vita? I have more questions, but as a ps3, ps vita, and ps4 owner. I wonder how does it go from “does everything” to “sharing is caring*” but ps3 does more than ps4 and ps4 doesn’t fully connect with or should i say share with vita. I love you sony/PlayStation. Please dont let me down. Dont let us down. I dont and refuse a.d rebuke xbox. Please just give us what should be basic and what we deserve. Thanks again.
PS needs to allow for third party to use the blutooth I still need a cable for the chat using my Turtle Beach PX4 headset.
Would love external hard drive support as well as a media player app similar to a competitors console. Also being able to change the wallpaper like you can on a desktop would be great. Also a themed screensaver as well rather than just dimming down?

Sweet! Don’t want to be “that guy,” but still hoping to see audio multi-out if you have a headset plugged into the controller. Ex: Play all audio through headset & hdmi/optical. It’s a big pain if you’re recording content using your own devices. Thanks, keep up the good work – very satisfied with both of my PS4s!
Could you guys fix the Text Chat on PS4? it’s really easy and simple to do..
The messages don’t pop up when someone says something. how can we see it? I like to game and text my friends, using the mic is not for me. Plz do this for me :(

I really applaud Sony for it’s hard work, especially with the new feature for accessibility, it’s nice to see that you want every person to enjoy the PlayStation experience.
I would like to see ever since PlayStation 3 is an application that will permit you to make your own custom dynamic or static theme.that would be something to pay for or something you can give your PlayStation Plus members.
