PS Plus: Free Games for March 2015

Another collection of excellent games joins PlayStation Plus this month, and you’ve come to the right place for details!

Starting things off on PS4 is Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee — New ‘n’ Tasty! This side-scrolling adventure reboots the PlayStation classic with new visuals, new sound, enhanced controls, and even more dark humor than before. Also coming to the PS4 lineup is Valiant Hearts: The Great War. This colorful puzzle game carries with it a heavy subject matter, as it follows four intersecting lives (and a loyal canine companion) during the first World War.

On PS3, gamers with PS Plus can download the critically-acclaimed Papo & Yo, alongside the wit-inducing Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments. And on PS Vita, watch out for OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood and CounterSpy.

These games will be available for Plus members when PlayStation Store updates later today.

  • I’ll add my voice to the lack luster offering as it relates for me.

@LUCIFERSGLEAM – the main reason that most of us who have a subscription is to be able to play the on-line portions of a PS4 game and not just for the “free” games.

@Shaunmc02 – I would wish Sony did offer a subscription for being able to play on-line. I think it would surprise them how fast it would become a popular item.

@synysterkill-07 – Not all of us fall under that impossible to please category. The current list of games are ones that I have no interest in playing. If I had – then I would have purchased the games when they were released.

  • Awesome lineup – thanks!

  • Sadly I’m with the disappointed people with the PS3 and vita games. With such a big ps3 back catalogue why the poor choice? And the vita games? Really? :-(

  • I like how you have a Driveclub banner above this Blog’s title…now you’re insulting us.

  • Valiant Hearts is badass. I guess I’ll try Sherlock and Papo y Yo.

It’s pretty annoying how the PS3 versions of games get released as free while the PS4 counterpart is not. What’s the reasoning behind it? If I see a free game for PS3, there’s no chance I’d buy it for PS4. I have both systems, but if I had only a PS4, I’d be pissed and definitely wouldn’t but Sherlock (or Thief, etc.) knowing it’s free on the other platform.

  • To everyone who’s disappointed with this month’s games, start posting your wishlist! Sony doesn’t know what you want unless you tell them. I’ve been doing it forever, and we’ve gotten many of the games on my list in the past. It works. Here’s mine:
    PS3 games
    The Last of Us
    Final Fantasy 13-2
    Red Dead Redemption
    Catherine
    Darksiders 2
South Park: The Stick of Truth
    Rain
    L.A. Noire
    Beyond: Two Souls
    Dead Space Extraction
    Infamous: Festival of Blood
    Dark Souls

    PS Vita games
    Persona 4 Golden
    Tearaway
    Hohokum
    Killzone: Mercenary
    Rayman Legends
    Child of Light
    Rollers of the Realm
    Ys: Memories of Celceta
Jacob Jones & the Bigfoot Mystery
    Resistance: Burning Skies

    PS4 games
    The Last of Us: Remastered
    Killzone: Shadow Fall
    Infamous: Second Son
    Knack
    Never Alone

  • One of the best selections since the IGC implementation.

  • People really want Knack?

    lol

  • Good lineup. Love the PlayStation 3 games. However, the vita games are lacking.

  • I’m really tired of people complaining about PS+. It’s a good value for $50 and each month gives you nearly $50 worth of games to play. Some call it ‘renting’ but either way, it’s an ability to play a game all the way through. If you really love a game and think you’ll play it over and over again (not likely), then buy it or just extend your PS+ membership.

As for the AAA titles like Knack or Killzone – you can buy them used for $10 to $15 as I did. I actually like getting these strange little games with PS+ because I wouldn’t normally buy them or be interested in them. OlliOlli looks fun but I never bought it and same goes for Oddworld and Counterspy. If they offered more AAA titles that were older, people would complain because they already have them! I have Valiant Hearts already, but I’m not complaining. I get other games free.

Stop complaining. You make us all look bad.

SONY – Communicate more and have more love for the Vita.

  • Great games this month!

  • Thanks Sony!

This is unacceptable. The huge delay in announcing the line up only draws attention to the lacking quality. The competition is offering three AAA games this month.

How can you even announce this line up with a straight face sony!?

are you serious competitor xclone 1 offering triple AAA (tomb raider game witn no DLC not remastered that worth nothing can be found in trash bin at EB for 3$ or less…. woo there a difinite edition version that 100 time better and all DLC included if this your better line up of free game… go over there , but PS offering 100% better selection)

    fell sorry for you….

  • Great selection. Nice PS4/vita options.

  • :( low games :/

  • Hey, was the labeling of OlliOlli 2 as a PS4 game a mistake? Since I’m looking at the free games I can download on the PS4 and I was able to add Valiant Hearts, Abe’s Odysey, and Counterspy to my library… but OlliOlli 2 was no where to be found.

Is there some digging I have to do get it?

  • Excellent, Valiant Hearts is a great game. Well played Sony

  • Such a great line up this month!! My faith in the vita is being restored thank you Sony <3

  • More Shovelsware….. gee thx. It’s like junk mail for consoles. When my sub goes, you won’t get another dime for me for a long time if ever. I think it’s time to consider other console options. You just lost a 20 year customer of your consoles Sony. This past year has drove me to disgust . Charles around. Back to my pic I go till I figure out whether to get a DB or Wiig

Hope it was worth it sony. You just lost my business. Bye

  • It’s like they just gave us CRAP!!!! because everthing else is on sale thanks but no thanks this month Sony. Hopefully next month will be better.

  • And what’s with people comparing the PS + line up with Games for Gold one? Don’t know why people prefer to have “AAA” games that you can buy for like $3 now, and the majority having already played them by now like Bioshock and the downgraded version of Tombraider (I mean come on, Rayman Legends I can understand, but it’s way better on the Wii U). I’d rather have games I’ve never played or looked at before, than 3 games that I played a year or two ago.

But then again, you could be one of those people that actually do buy ALL the indie games and don’t spend the money on AAA games, which in that case… this month would indeed suck elephant balls

  • Was going to buy Abe on Friday! For what might be considered ‘smaller’games (for ps4 owners), theyre pretty awesome this month. Ty :)

  • I splurged the full amount when New n’ Tasty released. Wait . . . that didn’t sound right.

  • So why did it take so long to post these games… cause really the selection is pretty basic. I was expecting something notable to come out of it… but uh. I own two of the games on there, and don’t really have much interest in the rest. fiddles, guess I’ll still have to wait for Drive Club.

PS by now it better be the full game of Drive Club, cause a Plus Edition will be like salt in a wound situation for us fans. Just saying.

PSS don’t promise band new online games as free, cause well online launches never go well.

  • Thank you! Even more reason to play PSVita this month. Add me if your a trophy hunter on. Ps4 or vita :)

  • Very cool been waiting for valiant hearts! Hear great things!

  • I, for one, am thankful for all of these FREE games. Yes, we pay a fee…but c’mon! These are games that people should have bought but didn’t. And then you complain when they are FREE? Yeeeeesh…

  • With the delay, I cant help but wonder if this was plan ‘B’.

Nothing to really get excited about, but I’m sure I will give them a shot.

  • What’s with these puzzle games? When are we going to get to some action!! Been with Playstation Plus since September and still don’t have one of their free games saved on my PS4. Why don’t you just give free games every two months and improve the quality. These games would probably work on my old ps1.

  • Great Lineup!

Abe’s and Valiant Hearts were to games i as thinking on buying!!!

    thank you

  • Valiant Hearts! Always wanted to try that. Could care less about the others though…

  • Wow the PS+ free games choices have really gone to **** lately

  • Wow, I’m super pleased with this month’s offerings.

  • Probably one of the best line ups yet, which still is complete shyte

    – abes odyssey a playstation 1 game

    – valiant hearts clearly an over marketed game(of all the youtubers that made and praised videos very few seen it through the end)
still have some faith in his one tho

    – OlliOlli2 a game you probably would have gotten free with a mega drive or snes

    – CounterSpy dose look the only promising only due to rouge ascension being a multi platform game which came out a month ago but was absolutely great for what it looked

Anyway i cant see myself renewing my ps plus as i have close to no interest for online play, mostly only got for monthly games

From what i could see the only actual playstation “4” game that we got having ps plus was infamous sons expansion which was quite obviously over exhausted its time on the market to generate any more revenue – id say close enough to the sales of these indie 2d side scrollers.

  • papo yo doesnt shown anywhere on the plus’s page.

  • Now I know what subscribers feel like when games you already own are free on PS plus. But thats nobodys fault, hope everyone enjoys Valiant Hearts. Prepare for feels.
But there really should be a better lineup for ps4. I mean, the majority keep complaining about too many indie/small games. It the newest system, and its selling above Sonys expectation but it doesnt really feel like we are getting our moneys worth, it really doesnt. I’ve had a ps4 since december and i haven’t been excited for a PS plus lineup apart from Injustice that same month. And even that was meh after playing it, lol.

  • Whoa! I was so ecstatic when I saw Valiant Hearts on this list. I had to tell my buddies to get that game immediately and showed them the trailer. Great pick! I’m very grateful to have the chance to play that game for free! :D

  • Nice update, just wondering though if Borderlands: The Handsome Collection will be available for pre order on PSN? I put 60 on my account for it and it’s still not showing up. I need to know because I just pre ordered Battlefield: Hardline and MLB 15 The Show Anniversary Edition. I’ll have to cancel one of them and buy it digitally if BL: THC isn’t coming to PSN.

  • 4 Games?!!? Insane!

  • This lineup is incredible! This is the first time I’ve been excited for every single game on offer. Well done, Sony!

  • Awesome!! What about Asian store?

  • I have to say so far in 2015 PS PLUS has been KILLING IT!

  • I am beginning to grow tired of a year and a half of indie games with occasional 3A games. There has been only 2 3A games. The only good one was InFamous. I’m really hoping for KillZone to be free next month.

  • This list sucks, but Helldivers is finally out. So, hell yeah, good month for me!! ^_^

  • I think this months offering if actually pretty decent, especially on ps4 and vita.

Those of you complaining and saying Xbox got better games you might be partially right, but guess what, PlayStation plus had BioShock infinite and tomb raider a year ago, so the joke is on you.

  • FYI Papo & Yo doesn’t show on the free games page, you have to manually search for it.

  • LMAO :) BOYCOTT PS Plus, you people leaving positive comments are nothing more than worthless paid trolls anyway. How pathetic of this INDIE TRASH. This “service” is only a way to rip you off and force you to pay TWO separate ISP fees every month just to get your games online. PS Plus is NOTHING more than a 2nd ISP fee. Mine expires March 10th and these scum bags will NOT get another dime out of me. BOYCOTT PS Plus, you people leaving positive comments are nothing more than worthless paid trolls anyway.

  • Where is DRIVECLUB on PS Plus you lying sacks of corporate waste in the flesh ???? Why are these stupid sheeple people too gutless to ask this same question ???

  • INDIE TRASH + Service is more like it.

  • Man, Valiant heart’s looks like a great game. Good lineup
