The Drop: New PlayStation Games for 3/3/2015
The Drop

Prepare to drop into high-stakes combat and protect democracy at all costs — Helldivers is coming to PS4, PS3, and PS Vita this week in a flurry of friendly-fire chaos!

Helldivers enlists you in an elite squad of soldiers that travel the star system, obliterating any enemy of Super Earth that dares rear its insectoid head. With full four-player cooperative, and the looming presence of friendly fire at every turn, Helldivers is packed with challenge and three different alien races itching to destroy you. Procedurally-generated levels keep even the most versatile soldiers coming back for more, and a non-linear mission structure opens up even more carnage-laden options. Bonus: Helldivers supports cross play and cross chat across all three platforms.

If squashing space bugs and cyborgs isn’t your cup of tea, fear not: Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines is also headed to PS Vita this week. In it, you’ll guide a clan across many generations in an effort to purge your family of an ancient curse. With watercolor visuals and spectacular battles, this RPG brings a new twist to Japanese mythology.

For a full list of games coming to PlayStation this week, read on. And enjoy the Drop!

  • I used to worry so much about games coming out, or sales on games that needed a little bit of a push to get me to commit. Now after 5 days in the hospital and still not knowing for certain what’s making me sick I realize how empty my life really has been. There’s more to life than games. Let games be a part of it, just don’t forget all the other good stuff too. A simple walk in the sunshine is already out of my reach. Please don’t waste your limited hours on earth be wasted in pointless complaining and arguments.

  • Such a great indie week! My budget is BLOWN!

  • This month’s PS+ game is OlliOlli2, isn’t it? You can tell me…

Also, Helldivers looks dope. That’ll definitely be my buy for the week.

  • Meh. You guys really need to try harder with the PSOne games.

  • Dang… Helldivers, La-Mulana EX and White Knight… gonna empty my PSN wallet this week. Guess I’ll have to top it up earlier than expected. And this is only week one of the Spring Fever sale… oh dear.

Poster #57 – 73 was either dropped by the nurses multiple times whe day he/she was born or he/she still underage and has yet to realize that spamming is not cool.

Is it that difficult to add the PRICES to the DROP post? Yes, I know this is the DROP, the PRICES will be revealed tomorrow, but is it that bad to let us know ahead?

Some of us need to plan and ration our gaming budget. Having that bit of information (apart from the standard $59.99 games) helps us get prepared and prioritize. We may also compare the digital price with physical price in stores, or compare the digital price with other region PSN stores, or even with other non-Playstation platforms. If we find that the physical price is better, knowing the price ahead will still give us a small window to go pre-order from game shops (or is that why you don’t want to tell us the prices?). And some of us need to buy physical PSN top up cards ahead of the actual release.

Why is it such a problem to show the PRICES?

  • Oreshika looks pretty cool. I like the art style.

  • @57 – 73:
At least ask for MediEvil 2 on the store, if you’re going to spam a list of many obscure games.

  • Seems Sony is pushing the sale while not releasing the PS+ line up for members. I guess its the new normal for Sony,

  • So Sony about those PS+ games?
You guys are up to something aren’t you?

  • White Night next week? Nooice gonna get on that :D

  • What is the deal with download only.UK has a physical Zombie Army Trilogy and Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines has a English physical game that can be imported. I only get a game in physical formant. Sorry Sony your not getting money from me this week.
