This is a pretty awesome month for PlayStation Plus members with a variety of quality titles across PlayStation platforms entering the service.
On PlayStation 4 you’ll receive one of the coolest games from last year – the critically acclaimed strategy/action RPG Transistor. PS4 owners will also get Apotheon, an action platformer set in Greek mythology, the day it releases on PlayStation Store. PlayStation 3 owners can explore the ins and outs of Tokyo with Yakuza 4 or sneak about The City stealing what you can in Thief. PlayStation Vita owners can see how many generations of champions it takes to beat the quirky Rogue Legacy and jump around as a little boy with a big gun (not so much for shooting enemies as it is launching you around) in Kick & Fennick, which is also releasing day and date in PlayStation Plus.
All of these games will be free for Plus members starting February 3rd. If you want to see these titles in action, check out the video below. And to anyone who says to stop crying about “free” games….last time I checked I pay $50 a year for a service that was free on PS3. So try to explain to me how $50 is free and then you can talk. Especially when you subscribe just for PS Vita and PS3 where you dont need it to play online. They have every right to give their feedback on the games because thats the main point of the service!
I commend Sony for what they are doing. I mean 2 AAA games for ps3 in one month? Wow. That being said, one reviewed relatively poorly and the other was OK.
I would much rather see awesome Indies than mediocre AAA. A big budget doesn’t mean quality.
But for that this month we get ROGUE LEGACY!

Transistor: I’ve been wanting to play this game for quite some time, I just couldn’t justify purchasing it to myself. +1
Apotheon: I’ve had my eye on this since I heard of it. Nice to see I can try it risk free. +1
Yakuza 4: I’ve never played a Yakuza game before. Might be interesting to give it a try. +1
Thief: I almost got this game on PC, so, yeah. +1
Rogue Legacy: No. Absolutely not. I played this game on PC and hated it. -3 because they’re trying to put this blight on all my consoles.
Kick & Fennick: Never heard of it. 0
Final Total: +1. Kind of a “meh” month, just because of Rogue Legacy. Otherwise terrific.
Yey! First month plus has been exciting in a good while. Almost bough yakuza this weekend. Win! And happy about theft. But wondering why it’s not the ps4 and PS3 versions. But luckily I’ve heard it’s barely different just a little crisper.
Ps transistor is an awesome game and I’m happy it will get released to the masses. Also excited for their Xbox game to come our way as well.
C’mon man….. really!! , back to the indie games i think you owe us more than that after psn was down over christmas , if things dont change soon im giving my money to bill gates , xbox will soon overtake u guys and your not doing jack about it

Absolutely shameful.Poor PS4 games again. Sorry, I don’t care how muvh the Bastion makergame was hyped, it’s ANOTHER crappy indie game I can care less about. PS3 games are nice, but no HD space, kinda why I got a PS4? Vita……… best handheld ever, worst supported ever. Wonderswan and Neo Geo Pocket were handled better than this tragedy. Sony has Christmas hack downtime and their apology is a 10% off coupon, AND the repeated shafting on Plus for PS4 and Vita users? Yeah Sony, so out of touch. Get a damned clue and treat us like we matter, you imbeciles!
But hey, at least I don’t have or been gifted a Vita, so at least there’s not that dissapointment. Vita is so lacking in support and games it’s not even funny. And hey Sony, where are the PS4 games? You know, so you don’t keep screwing us over with trash indy games?

Now I’m actually sorry that I bought Rogue Legacy as I haven’t had time to play it in the last few months. However, those who don’t have it yet should have a lot of fun with it. I’ve also been wanting to try out Transistor, and Apotheon looks like a good one. The only one there that I already have is Rogue Legacy, so it looks like a good month. Thanks a lot!
Thief was abysmal hopefully it includes the PS4 version as well. The other games I’m looking forward to playing.
Kinda dissatisfied that Thief is not available for PS4….. But I am hoping that Sony might make that cross playable. Otherwise well….. I will buy Thief when it is at $10.
My son wants me to buy The Last of US Remastered on the PS4. I told him as it is from Sony, they will offer it for FREE. I said if they do so by JUN 30th he has to pay me for the cost of the game since he disagrees. Also I found the Sony 10% off deal over the weekend slightly slimy. They could have made it “all of February any ONE TIME PURCHASE UP TO $X GETS 10% OFF” instead of emailing me 6 hours after it started on Friday, and oh yeah, I didn’t read that email. DUH. 10% gosh. Thanks Sony.

Just a shame that theft isn’t even an option on ps4 so I feel a bit rrobbed really. It doesn’t need to be cross buy, just be an option for ps4 because that’s where I played it’s demo.
I never would’ve bought that game coz to me it looked boring story wise nd the demo was all game play but now that it’s free I’m genuinely interested in getting it.
Yakuza looks like a good option. To be honest I never new about the series until the end of last year when Yakuza 5 was announced and that looked amazing so I assume this will be great too.
Also where is the free Drive Club game. I’m not gona buy it until I know that it’s worth my money because I’ve heard mixed reviews about it so I wana try it out first.

I mean, Transistor alone is one of my favorite games. Add in the addictiveness of Rouge Legacy and the fun of Yakuza 4, and this is one good month to be a PS + subscriber.

This is the reason i bought a alienware alpha. I am tired of the garbage we keep getting i will not be renewing my playstation pluse membership again. I play for free now ill keep my playstation for Netflix and the exclusive games i guess.
I really like those ps3 games, especially Yakuza 4. I’d say that those games alone are worth the $4/mth for ps plus.
Why do half the commenters think the game is called Rouge Legacy though? Rouge is another name for blush, the red makeup women put on their cheeks. Why would there be a game about the legacy of cheek makeup?
Again with the bull**** indies! There should be atleast ONE real game every month. Instead all we get is bull**** indie sidescrollers and puzzlers! If i wanted to play games from 1990 i would dust off my SEGA. No way i am re-subbing when this expires.
I’m very excited to play Thief, I don’t care that its not the PS4 version…PS3 is still awesome too. Going to check the other games out as well…I still have games I haven’t even started yet, some from months ago that aren’t even downloaded yet lol they are waiting for me. what the hack is going with Sony giving out crappy game, i been a PlayStation fan since a kid but it look like they are losing to xbox regarding on giving free game and stuff..i dont think i’ll renewal my plus for Feb unless the discount are good with some good title games. Sony you need to step up your game.
I like the line up – Only wish Thief was PS4 as well but I kind of understand why but at the same time it seems like it’s been enough time, almost a year since it’s been out.
