Ever since we announced Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, nearly every fan I’ve heard from at trade shows, on Twitter, in the comments, or on the forums has asked one question: when is it coming to PS4? Well, we appreciate your patience, and today we have some good news for all of you: not only are we bringing The Pre-Sequel to PS4 on March 24th, but Borderlands 2 is coming along with it! Both titles will be available in one package as Borderlands: The Handsome Collection for $59.99.
The Handsome Collection has both games running in gorgeous HD and looking pretty damn great, at a resolution and performance level never before seen in Borderlands on consoles. Beyond that, The Handsome Collection also has another cool first for Borderlands: four-player split-screen! Yup, four friends can hang out on the couch and play in split-screen on a single TV with The Handsome Collection, in Borderlands 2 or The Pre-Sequel.
Have you already started Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and/or Borderlands 2 on PS3 or Borderlands 2 PS Vita? Don’t worry: using cross-save functionality, you’ll be able to transfer your save to and from PS4 to pick up right where you left off, along with your leveled-up character, Badass Rank, and everything else you worked so hard for.
But what about the DLC? Well, that’s all included, too. Yup, The Handsome Collection includes ALL of the add-on content for both Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel, which is a heck of a lot of stuff. To give you an idea of just how much we’ve stuffed into that little box, here’s a list of everything you’ll get in addition to the base games:

Back when Borderlands 2 came out in 2012, it launched alongside a pretty extravagant Collector’s Edition that some of you might have been able to snag. With Borderlands 2 and all of its add-on content coming to next-gen, we knew we had to top ourselves. And so, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection will receive an extremely limited Collector’s Edition, the Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition!
Limited to only 5,000 units worldwide, the Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition includes a remote controlled Claptrap steward bot that you’ll control with a companion app from your iOS or Android device. You’ll be able to play voice samples of some of Claptrap’s most iconic lines and look through a camera to see where Claptrap is headed, all while you control his every move (while balancing on one wheel)! The Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition also includes 12 really cool exclusive Vault Hunter lithographs, and a collectible steel case. It’ll be available for $399 at participating retailers, and we recommend getting a move on it if you’re interested — we don’t expect these to last long.
Lastly, we’ll be talking more about The Handsome Collection during our panels at PAX South this week, and I hope we’ll see some of you in San Antonio. Even if you can’t make it, stay tuned for more details leading up to launch.
See you on Pandora and Elpis!
Sony stop being lazy and release new in stop porting stuff it’s not a good look

i have a friday and saturday pass for pax south, i would love to demo the ps4 version this weekend……fingers extra crossed!
YES! So glad I didn’t play BL2 or Pre-Sequel! Now I can pick up the definitive version! I personally don’t mind these remasters. It’s more games to play. No one’s forcing anyone to buy these. I say the more the merrier.
@trinidad121
You do know Gearbox is the one that makes these games not Sony right?
I could not care less about Borderlands series. But I feel happy about tons of players who asked for this to happen. :)
One person at least on each of these forums adds the comment hey Sony and something about what Sony should do. Sony is not making the game and I am sure had little to nothing to do with this decision.
Anyway the reason they likely are making this pack probably has more to do with the fans that sold their previous generation consoles and have been asking for it to come to the next gen. Porting the PC version to the new consoles saves some money in doing so, while also giving devoted fans a chance to play again with slightly better graphics. They are including all the Pre-Sequal which also means new fans might bite a little easier. It’s not bad.
Ports of old PC games and ports of PS3 games… Welcome to current gen…
**I always thought that people upgraded their systems to you know, play new games, not old ones. Can’t wait until Bloodborne though.
borderlands 1, 2 , pre-sequel = autobuy
@5…your whiney posts makes zero sense….These remasters don;t stop new games from being made, which take time, the order and bloodborne are around the corner, this effects them in no way. More games is never a bad thing.
@51..this is 2k not sony you know this right??? How are they being lazy??? All there studios are working on PS4 games, get a clue. Bloodborne and the order are weeks away.
I have never really played any of the Borderlands games. I mean, I got the first two for free but I didn’t have the motivation to play it because, well, I don’t have the DLC. I might pick this one up but it’s weird that you guys didn’t include the first game. Not so handsome collection, eh?
@46….Bloodborne and the order are right around the corner, and people dont just play exclusives…Exclusives dont come out that often any generation. The industry thrives on multiplatform releases. Stop whining.
will it include a code for BL2 on Vita?
will the games play in stereo 3D on 3DTVs?
Meh, Stereoscopic 3D support, or no sale. Thanks anyway. I can get this used for $20 like I did the other PS4 games 8 months from now on ebay. Let me guess, no actual manual inside the case either? blech… this generation of gaming is unexciting, and unrewarding.
The only great things thus far this entire generation for PS4 was Killzone, inFamous, Knack, and P.T. Demo, and sadly I had to wait to get the first three on sale for $20 each on ebay due to no 3D support or manuals in the cases. I will most likely do the same with P.T. (Silent Hills) unless the real game is as freaky as the demo, which somehow I doubt it will be looking at the footage at the end of the demo. I can see this generation of gaming being nothing but ebay sales for $20 each, and nothing worth buying to collect since nothing has manuals nor 3D support for an exciting extra added depth to the gameplay. I also guess that the only digital games I will get will be Trine and Super Stardust HD, for having stereoscopic 3D in them.
Yep, i want this.
I’ll get to play the Pre-Sequel, have its DLC, and have Borderlands 2 and all of its DLC, so i can go back and play someday, on my console of choice. Good deal.
Enjoy :)
