The extension will be automatically applied, so no action is necessary to receive the extension. We will post additional information here on PlayStation.Blog when the extension becomes available. @696 Again, there are a lot more players on line in one game. LBP’s 4 players in a game isn’t likely to be as bad as an incident where a fight breaks out in an MMO and escalates. That’s why I tried to put it into perspective with the example using Black Friday vs a normal shopping day.

Same server or not doesn’t matter. It’s the number interacting in the same level at once. The more people playing the same level together means it can get more hectic in the game. I imagine MMOs need a greater need for moderation from things cheaters, hackers, etc. Lower number of players means things won’t be as bad as if you were playing with a room of 63 hackers and you’re playing fair.
Ness_and_Sonic: even one guy hacking or having a bad connection can cause trouble. I play GT6 online most night and we have had hackers come into our room from time to time. when they come in the room starts to have more issues than usual but when i kick the hacker the room issues mostly go away.
Yeah, but when a game has smaller numbers in a match, you can leave and go to another match. With smaller rooms, there’s bound to me more without cheaters than if lots of people were put into the same room.
Not bad, considering it wasn’t really something Sony could have prevented.
I’m more curious as to when we’re getting this 10% discount coupon, personally.

LBP wont EVER be on steam, they OWN and CHOOSE how and where they would like to release it AND the price they’d like to charge to experience all its features?
Are all DLC scams? Is going to a store and them charging $10 milk more than another store that charges $4 a scam? No its not, its their merchandise and they sell it as fit.

I was wondering a couple things…
When will we be getting this 10% off coupon?
And will we get just one coupon or will we get one that can be used on each platform (essentially 3 then)? I own a PS3, PS4, and a Vita and the PS store has different content depending from which platform you log into the store from. I was looking to buy Duke Nukem for PS3, The Order 1886 for PS4, and Sword Art Online for the Vita but each of those games can only be purchased from the PS store for each corresponding platform. So will I be stuck picking which one to buy with the coupon or will I have the chance to buy all of them with a 10% off coupon?
10 % is nothing after being a die hard Playstation person for i belive 17 years maybe 18 . a better compensation would be needed here i dont want to pay something to get a comp. I think a $20 psn credit would be in order to make it write.
this is a insult to all Playstation owners. Not really surprised though. This IS Sony we are talking about. If they really cared about their customers and really was sorry, We’d be getting 3-4 games for free like we did 3 years ago when PSN got hacked and taken down. Before anyone start S***, I know it was down for a month or longer then. Point is, This so-called offer is a joke!! It’s just a away of them pushing people to get PS Plus (Which has a been a joke service since the start) People who don’t have it so get nothing out of this. So, How is this fair? It’s not.
Another thing too, Why is it we are now hearing from Eric? This is like the 1st time in 3 years or so we have heard or seen him post anything on the blog. I thought he was gone from Sony. Honestly he needs to be. Sony is not the same company it once was. Eespecially in and during the 1980’s when the Walkman first came out and ruled.
It’s just like every other company now. Greed fueled and bunch of liars that don’t give a damn about their long trem a loyal customers. Won’t be long till they will be out of business like all of the once huge game & Electronic companies like Midway, THQ, ETC…

@706 Champ147. It says in the post that there will be more info on the 5 day extension at a later date. As far as the 19% discount, you can use the online store on your computer or phone. It’s Sony Entertainment Network. You get 10% off an entire cart, so you can add a vita game, ps4 game and a ps3 game if you want.

it is good for players that have psplus and the users that add funds to the wallet frequently but what happen with the people that dont add funds or that cant buy a psplus time for any reason i would say it is unfair

@705 And that’s why console exclusiveness isn’t a good thing. I feel sorry for people wanting Bayonetta 2 on a console other than Wii U. Also I’m not going to stop until the online multiplayer fee is dropped permanently.

I would advise using your coupon on the webstore. It has all of the content from every Sony platform available in one place. That way you can get everything you want without having to use multiple devices, and you’re guaranteed to be able to use the coupon on games for all platforms.

First off I wasn’t affected by the black out too much. I couldn’t buy one game when I wanted to play it so I went out and grabbed kingdom heart 2.5 HD instead. That said this happened on Christmas break being the time some of us could play and although it may of been 3 days during vacation time for some that is some major time lost if you depended on the network being up. I am not about to call anyone whiners or entitled brats of those that what to ***** about it. The 5 day extra play station plus doesn’t seem to be that much of a I’m sorry, so I’ll give it that. That said we are not entitled to even the 5 days. If your mad about that protest with your wallets. Words do very little. If the service has you mad feel free to form a boycott of PS plus. Myself I still will pay away to Playstation plus till I no longer get enjoyment the service.

Both Microsoft and Sony chase exclusive content and that’s their right to run their business that way and differentiate they console offering. Including by charging for online service.
@721 Your first remark could be interpreted as one. Free online multiplayer would have set the PS4 apart from the XBO.
MS also tried to go download only with the XBO. It didn’t work too well. If Sony were to try to go to download only with their next console, I’m sure it won’t work. Steam was able to pull it off, but free online multiplayer helped them pull it off.

Microsoft had to backtrack on their plan but Sony and Steam are going successful. Whats your point?
PSN’s Instant Game Collection has more value than Games with Gold. Thats already sets PS Plus apart.

Value is a subjective term. As I have explained, the ICG’s value to me is 0, just like Games with Gold. PC’s another story, but that’s because I can take a laptop to the library to download games. As for my point, the premium subscription fee that both Sony and MS are charging for online multiplayer will hold back any attempt to go download only on future consoles.

If you don’t want ICG, then don’t sign up at all. You haven’t so you already made your choice.

The problem is PS+ is required for online multiplayer. Again, that kind of pushes the ICG on people who aren’t interested otherwise.
As a potential customer, I should have a voice. Look at what ignoring potential customers did to MS. The PS4 could have more potential, but that’s being ignored.

That is nice, for the extra 5 days, but now lately it’s imposible to log in and when i che the PSN page it states havy traffic as the reason not to be able to log in. is it fair to say that we have to pay membership in full. so the system that is offered for that money should be available 100% of the time with no issues?

I don’t care about the PS Plus cause I don’t have it, but is that 10% going to account for anything? It said in the description it’d be for “Award Winning Indie Games” yet, it said the whole cart.l I was planning on picking up Far Cry 3 and 4 with the discount but if it doesn’t apply to regular games….someone please tell me if it works for anything or if it is just for what they described.

Which is a very wordy and in my opinion stupid way to word that you can buy any game on psn and get the discount.

@732 it says sometime this month, and it’s been 3 days sense they said that, so no there is no news on it yet. Just be patient, they will probably announce all the info on here sometime around the 20th.
@734 I tried to point out one key difference that allowed Steam to work as a download only platform and XBO to be a huge disaster at it. As I have said, if Sony were to go download only with their next system while the PS+ requirement for online multiplayer still exists, it’s likely to explode in their face. However, it seems like he wants to get into insult matches. I’d ignore him, but that’s only because I don’t have a clue on how to report responses to mods.

Has anyone actually received their 5 days PS+ extension?
My original subs expired today on 4th Jan where it should have been extended until 9th Jan.
I’ve emailed Sony and hasnt heard back yet.

There’s a strange and worrisome phenomenon taking place here, and you see it a lot on the internet in general…
Self-appointed experts who are ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that if someone takes the business of the argument, it must mean that they are being financially compensated for doing do, and are to be labelled enemies of the people. As if there’s no way that someone would disagree with their esteemed opinions unless the perpetrator happens to be part of a damage control squad sent out to squash the voices of the oppressed consumer.
I only wonder how close to being clinically insane these obviously paranoid people are…
The funny thing is, the real “enemy of the people” is the one who encourages social dissent in the face of insignificant circumstances. Making mountains out of molehills, encouraging conflict where there should be peace over such trivial matters.

@740 Close, but you started at Step 2. Step 1 would be to require a premium subscription fee for online multiplayer and claim the revenue generated from it would be used to improve the service they are now charging for.

This shouldnt have happened to begin with, especially since we paying for this service!!! 5 extra days of ps plus isnt ****, and neither is 10 percent and im still waiting for the email for the whole vita fiasco since i bought one at launch!!! Man ps+ was better for ps3 now its a joke!!! Im bout done with sony!!!
