The video game industry has been experiencing high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. Multiple networks, including PSN, have been affected over the last 48 hours. PSN engineers are working hard to restore full network access and online gameplay as quickly as possible.
From time to time there may be disruptions in service due to surges in traffic, but our engineers will be working to restore service as quickly as possible.
If you received a PlayStation console over the holidays and have been unable to log onto the network, know that this problem is temporary and is not caused by your game console. We’ll continue to keep you posted on Twitter at @AskPlayStation and we’ll update this post once the problems subside.

PSN dont read my credit cats information! I already checked and every number is good. PLS help! It’s a master cars, the card is active. Every time I try to put next ir appears the following message: “the credit card information is not valid. Please check your entries carefully. (E-8200002E)
received the ps4 on black friday for my son and have had technical problems with the system been waiting over a week for this box to come in so I can mail it back to sony. Once they receive package ill have to wait another 10 days till my son can start playing his christmas present. For $600 I could have bought him an xbox with many games very disappointed with the price as well as the the customer service with sony.

I understand you explained the fact that PSN servers are “gradually” coming back, but I did get a Playstation 4 for a gift these holidays and I would like to confirm that servers are still down because I am still getting error codes when attempting to log in my account.
The best part about the outage?
I could still PLAY my games offline without a prompt coming up and telling me I needed to sign in to play the game.
Yes, I needed to SIGN INTO XBL just to play an offline game on Xbox One, how sad is that?

I just finished rebooting my system & still nothing. I don’t know what else to do this is so frustrating 6 days with no PSN. Yet it lets me sign in on my old PS3 & on my iPad.

I bought my kid a PS4 for Christmas and he is yet to play it! This is ridiculous! I think you guys should compensate your customers! Let us go swap the online game out for a regular game. I think that is fair! Not everyone bought games for the PS4. My PS4 doesn’t even allow me to log into the network. It just says “Please wait” for hours on in! My friend has an Xbox and everything is just fine! I’m ****ed! Can I swap this bull**** “Destiny” out for a game my son can actually play?
I see u restored it but i still have a problem. I got lbp3 and wanted to transfer all dlc but some wont the ones that are not transferring is the FREE DLC I got with #2. that’s over $35! it keeps saying I need to buy it. so please help me if cant be fix please give me a psn card for $40 to get it ALL BACK. D: im very upset about this.

my online was working fine on my vita, until i finally got a 3rd place on the leaderboards in futuridium. now it wont connect at all. my first time with a top score and now it wont work, what a bunch of crap. and where is the new games for today??? arent they usually up by 2pm???
I was just online playing Destiny on PS3 when PSN logged me out and left me unable to sign back online and it’s currently acting the same, how can I fix this problem…

Depends on the game. Some games yes, some games no.
Mine started working again but it’s been giving me error codes for the past hour or so
this is just bull****. playstation owes us all some free games at least. i don’t care if it’s not their fault and whatever, there’s no excuse for being down so long except that people where off work because of the holiday. i run a small manufacturing company and if something goes wrong over the holidays then I’m there to fix it. playstation, being a multi-billion dollar company, should have people there no matter what to take care of their customers. it’s unbelievable how many people where upset this past holiday week bacause of this nonsense. i believe the least you could do is give us some free games to apologize for this inconvenience. it’s just utter irresponsibility on sony’s part to have let this go on for this long, and it’s still not 100% active. the xbox one is looking more and more appealing.
I am not upset or anything do to there will always be smarter people out there who over time no matter the security, they will be able to hack it, but I do agree with the people that there should be free games or discounts on things do to having to wait. Anyone who has a plus just remember those are risk that you taking such as if you order things online there are always a chance of theft. I hope we get at least something small out of it due to the wait.
where is chivalry: medieval warfare? why is there no word on it? nobody cares? its upsetting that there is no info on it, I understand that PSN got hacked but out of all the engineers they have, they cant add one sentence about a delay or new release date. unfortunately we’ll still get no word or even a discount after waiting a whole month. oh well, $14.99 is not that much anyway, but it makes me frustrated. will PlayStation answer me? no they will not! and its sad considering that I have been a PlayStation enthusiast, fan and supporter since the system released twenty years ago!
Does Playstation have any plans to compensate people for this? New customers and old alike. Just got off the phone with Playstation support and they declined a refund. Even for those 3 days. They have the right to shut down service at anytime for maintenance.. The way I see it, I paid for a burger and just got buns but they kept my money. A lot of kids were bummed from the holidays and I spent a lot of money on my family and I for Christmas and had nothing to play.2 Playstation 4’s and 4 PS+ subscriptions later (not including all the new games we all couldn’t play.) even an apology would be nice. I’m not mad at you sony. Just disappointed. If someone named lizard squad can compromise your system, maybe you should re think your security team
I say Sony give everyone a game to compensate for our inconvenience and time lost. Considering we pay for online now even tho it was down a short period of time spending 600$ on a gaming system and not being able to use it when you buy it is a big upset.

So finally im able to download my pick one game I got far cry 4 after install I get through the prologue and then a install progress pops up its not on the home screen just on the game I let it install 3 hours its still not done I’ve looked it up and many others are having the same problem … now look I have 3 kids so time is tight for me the holidays I’ve had sometime yet most of it I waited for you guys to fix the hack problem now this like freaking seriously what the heckler is the deal can no one catch a break or do like pissing off your customers seriously im getting tired it at this rate I dont even want a ps4 anymore and would rather have and xbox im so annoyed by you people that im beginning to think ill do just that and recommend it to anyone who asks and seeing I own a news paper I may go as far to recommend it to all who read my paper over the dallas metro so I seriously suggested you fix this issue asap… please respond.
Can you comment at all on why restoring services took so much longer for PSN than your competitor? There seem to be fundamental design flaws where its “all or nothing” for PSN – this is also noticeable during maintenance. Are/can you take any steps to get PSN to a point where the various components of the service are more independent of each other and/or steps to protect from further DDoS attacks?
It really bothers me when PSN takes maintenance for 6 hours and it essentially takes down everything (despite the “if you’ve logged in during the last x days” statement sometimes) – that along with the outage that was extended over Christmas – are things I don’t seem to notice on “the other” network. The poor copy/paste communications from your twitter account are also no help. Communication during this outage and the “big” one a few years ago (yes, that one still stings) has been poor and only serves as examples how NOT to communicate with customers.
I love my PS4 and PSN overall, but these issues are really testing my patience and love.
Thanks for getting the psn up and running again but what are you giving us to say sorry for f-ing up our xmas i think we all should have £100 put on our psn accounts no point giving us free game as on ps4 you need ps+.

Please help me guys ,I cant sign in since December 25th till now I tried changing MTU to 1473/1472 but still not working it tells me Sony Entertainment Network is currently undergoing maintenance then I thought there was a problem with my PS3 and I restored it to default and tried to sign in or even sign up but it tells me the connection to the server timed out _pleaaaaaaaaase help as soon as possible. :thanks.

Still can’t access PSN on PS4. Still can’t access all of PSN via PC, in several household, with several providers.
I don’t care if I they post something on Twitter every now and then, I don’t use Twitter. Sony is not able to send a mass mail to their customers about that problem, but during the last days I still got plastered with mail about the christmas sale… which I could not participate in, since I could not even reach the store via PC. Can you say “Purest Cynicism”, Sony?
My Premium membership ran out today and I think I will just leave it this way. In fact I am thinking about leaving console gaming at all and sell my PS4. OVer the course of one year there were two games I deemed worth playing on the PS4, the rest looks better, runs better and is up to 50% cheaper on PC..
But as I take it Sony is apparently too big to fail and can easily afford to lose one silly little customer like me.
I am just wondering… assuming that PS+ costs a bit more than 50 Euro for a year, this would make *14 Cent per day. This means, assuming that the estimated number of 5 million PS+ members on PS4 is true, that Sony cashed in ~5 million Euro in the last 7 days. Quite enough to get some engineers working and to do some communication with their customers.
So to the people who think we should stop complaining, I won’t. The DDoS attack was clearly not Sonys fault, not getting their **** together on the other hand clearly is. Sony is taking money for this service and do not even deem it necessary to communicate with their paying customers.
