As you probably know, PlayStation Network and some other gaming services were attacked over the holidays with artificially high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. This may have prevented your access to the network and its services over the last few days.

The video game industry has been experiencing high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. Multiple networks, including PSN, have been affected over the last 48 hours. PSN engineers are working hard to restore full network access and online gameplay as quickly as possible.
From time to time there may be disruptions in service due to surges in traffic, but our engineers will be working to restore service as quickly as possible.
If you received a PlayStation console over the holidays and have been unable to log onto the network, know that this problem is temporary and is not caused by your game console. We’ll continue to keep you posted on Twitter at @AskPlayStation and we’ll update this post once the problems subside.

I agree with many others. I 100% expect some type of compensation. We were knocked back SEVERAL days during one of the most important holidays (USA). I am a die hard PS fan and always will be, however it sucks when I see Xbox users running DAYS before PSN. Not acceptable. When are you going to take care of us PS fans!!!
Are ya’ll planning on reimbursing psn users for the 5or 6 days we were unable to connect, myself personally I’m a single parent with little game time and was off work for 5 days and was unable to connect so i couldn’t play the game that i rented on psnow and would very much appreciate some type of reimbursement. thank you
I agree we deserve some sort of compensation for having to wait so long to get back online. Even though I am upset I will always support Sony because they do their best to keep their customers happy. (U.S)

Thx for the guys who try the MTU thing. I changed it on 1477 and now I can connect my PS4 to the PSN.
But if its an official solution to fix this problems, why didn´t Sony speak about it.
And why runs my PS4 with MTU on 1500 before the guys crashed the PSN?

How come when i log into my PlayStation Profile it says my PS Plus account has expired & i must renew (Membership expired. Renew today). I just signed up to the PS Plus on 12-29-2014 for a 12 month subscription. ($49.99)

Im still with connectivity issues…it says my wifi is too weak or lost..but that cant be. My xbox connectivity is just fine. Any word yet or timeline with PSN would be up full and running?

I downloaded the NBA 2k15 game from my bundle package and was able to play the game tutorial but now I can’t get to the real game. It keeps giving me a notification but nothing needs to be updated. Is anyone else having the same issue? I can’t get in touch with any help desk at Play Station.
The most annoying part of it is you can’t play the games you bought online when the network is is Down. No games for a few days when you’re paying for this service is absurd.

Most people pay about 13 cents a day for their ps+ subscription that couldn’t even feed a starving kid in Africa yet they want $10-$60 in compensation in free games for their lost 78 cents over the past 6 days. Ridiculous. The best and most realistic solution is to give every ps+ member a free month of ps+. I personally was still able to play plenty of games while the psn has been down so my system wasn’t entirely useless I just couldn’ t play online for a few days. Not a big deal. And NOT sony’s fault why aren’t people asking for broken lizard or whoever is RESPONSIBLE for the attack for compensation. Sony is the victim here and people want to take sony’s wallet why they are lying in the gutter.

It’s been about a week and I still can’t sign into PSN on my ps4. This makes me sad :(
I hope this **** is fixed tomorrow, I can sign in my PSN account but I can’t re-new my membership. There are still bugs that needs to be fixed and I (we) am getting frustrated.

I see a lot of people complaining about 3 days without PSN. Just remember the last time this happened it was down for 3 months. So be glad they were on top of it this time.
I just talked with a friend who plays on Xbox 1, and though they were out for a far, far less time than PSN , he was given the Call Of Duty season pass for his inconvenience. I wonder if Sony is gonna pony up?
I’m surprise Sony hasn’t posted this: The solution for most of you.
Go to “settings.”
Go to “network.”
Select “custom.”
In this menu, leave everything as default except MTU.
Change MTU settings to “1473.”
Save your changes.
Reboot .
Works for most.
I didn’t pay over $500 for a PS4 that can’t even connect to the damn server. Come on Sony please fix this problem already

Hey JUSTLU F U I spent my entire xmas vacation wishing i could play a game that i rented from psn of course i expect some form of reimbursement
I am a playstation plus subscriber and since the hack, none of my games that i have downloaded work anymore.
They all say its expired. I have a playstation 3 and I have a hard time logging onto the PSN from it.
I have restarted the console several times and have restarted my home router.

Is there any chance sony of getting a product working that you are still taking money for. Disgusted with the service why bother paying for ps plus at all. Hate to say it but Xbox 1 is looking better every day of this shambles.
and the fair reimbursement would be for sony to refund your rental fee not give you a $60 title for free. Like I stated sony is the victim and as a result some customers like you have become victims too. I’m not sure where all the anger comes from maybe you shouldn’t take VIDEO GAMES so seriously.
