As you probably know, PlayStation Network and some other gaming services were attacked over the holidays with artificially high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. The video game industry has been experiencing high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. Multiple networks, including PSN, have been affected over the last 48 hours. PSN engineers are working hard to restore full network access and online gameplay as quickly as possible.
From time to time there may be disruptions in service due to surges in traffic, but our engineers will be working to restore service as quickly as possible.
If you received a PlayStation console over the holidays and have been unable to log onto the network, know that this problem is temporary and is not caused by your game console. We’ll continue to keep you posted on Twitter at @AskPlayStation and we’ll update this post once the problems subside.

Alright psn is still down…its been 4 days but u guys keep working hard to fix this…just don’t let this go past today plz

Tried the MTU fix but nothing. Tried all the 149Xs, does anyone know if somehow these get used up or something. I’ve about had it with PSN…no service all Xmas and my son is so disappointed he can’t play Destiny. I am very close to returning it to Gamestop and getting it for our XB1!
1. Go to settings.
2. Go to Network.
3. Set up Internet Connection.
4. Choose wifi or LAN, whatever you use.
5. Choose CUSTOM.
6. IP Address – Automatic
7. DCHP – Do Not Specify
8. DNS – Automatic
9. MTU Settings – MANUAL
10. It will be set to 1500 BY DEFAULT. Click that, change it to anything between 1200-1499. Press R2.
11. Click Next.
12. Proxy – Do Not Use
13. !!!!Do Not Test Connection!!!!
14. Sign into PSN, if that don’t work reset PS4 then sign in.

i just got my playstation 4 over the holidays and it gives me an error code when i try to sign in, how do i sign in and when will this be fixed?
been ps fan since kid, had ps1&ps2, shame missed ps3, but got christmas present ps4 and got this for last 3 days can’t connect, very disappointed at sony!! pen status online so why still can’t connect same codes well pis…d off! sony is a giant company why it takes so long!!!
@Chymiro195 I did first without testing connection and 2nd time with testing. How does that matter? Also, my user is logged in the whole time, I don’t see a way to logout aside from logging in as guest. Do you think that was the cause?

I changed the MTU and went online and bought FIFA 15 Deluxe and when I went to download, it says it’s already downloading, however there is nothing to show in the downloads section, I can’t see it downloading at all, anyone have any idea on what i could do?
I bought my 8 year old son a destiny game bundle package for Christmas the game will not work period on the net or single player, some days have gone by and I am still getting error code n311948 the game will not come on at all. put the game in and it says u must be signed in to psn to work. cant sign into psn keep getting error code. this is turning into a bad Christmas gift, and I have an 8 year old harping me about when the game is going to work. for a company that is involved in computing its pretty weak of u to have a system that can be so easily hacked. the time it is taking u to fix the matter has now past the point. I am bringing the game back to store I bought the bundle and expect another game that works. if I cant solve this problem with all the time and money I am spending. I own all 4 playstations and they all work. if this problem persist I will return the ps4 destiny bundle back to Walmart and buying a xbox 1 and I will never return. over the years I have spent a lot of on sony products, lcd xbr, sony amp, bought my psb speakers from u all 4 stations ect. getting very tired of a son that is crying to play a game he got for Christmas.

when you test the connection it resets to default 1500 which is offline. If your already logged in then you dont need to reset the connection

Don’t get me wrong the method works but it just disconnects again…
At least I can admit when and why something happens weather good or bad, yes, I tried changing my Playstation’s MTU rate to 1475, NOT MY ROUTERS as described but did not test as suggested. and it did work for me somewhat, I logged into PSN, but the “whats New” section did not work, yet I could play my GTA5!! finally

Can’t go on PSN & we’ll always seemed to have problems with psn from day one last Christmas.
I would like a reimbursement for my $$.
I bought a 3 month ps plus membership that guarantees access to psn. I have only been able to use it twice in 2 1/2 months.
It’s not my router since every other device I have & my PS3 go online & access psn in a second.

I find it really annoying that I can’t go online as PSN is down. A big company should be able to fix this problem ASAP but instead it is still trying to sort it out, they need to hurry up as this is getting annoying. Xbox went up and running a few days ago.
Nice that you can blame a bunch of kids for the “hack” when we know the real truth is that you have an archaic network that your staff don’t even understand. There was one day of DDoS attacks but Live recovered fine.
You earn a small fortune off of PS+ and yet can’t build a proper network to support it. You still can’t even upgrade sub accounts and the few staff I have spoken to sound confused when discussing the network. You refuse to fix the real problem since that will cost money and you leave your last loyal supporters to suffer instead because you know they will put up with it. Your thinking is ten years behind the curve.
This isn’t even funny bruh. You say psn is up but I can’t log in. Do we get anything for our patience with this horrible display of incompetence? What compensation will be given to us? This is absurd, I can see why people are switching to Xbox one.

Still not able to log into the network. We got any more info on a full fix? I’ve restarted my PS4 and even restored defaults multiple times and still nothing has come of it. Help me out here Sony, just wanna play.
The whole of Xmas has been ruined. Thanks sony, I don’t blame the reptiles as it’s sonys fault for not investing the money they relieve from 110,000,000 online gamers on online security and take THREE times longer than Microsoft to rectify the problems, I look forward to my reimbursement for the 4 days I have been unable to log on to a subscription based system and also compensating for the hassle of checking my bank account every five minutes to see if my details were one of the 13,000 leaked by hackers after the breach. I got mine to work had to to it on 1200 though. But can someone tell me what does changing it from 1500 to anything lower than that do? Why won’t it work when it’s at 1500?
Would SEN Like to Comment on the facts
Whilst it widely acknowledged and established That:
The network has been down until the morning of the 29th as apposed to the 27th as reported in the official blog.
The above has meant that not only online gaming but TV services such as Netflix have been unavailable leaving many Households without TV over the Christmas period.
I accept that this is a risk to any online service and after a DOS attack sometimes these faults are unavoidable.
What is totally unacceptable is the fact that EA or Ubisoft games that could not connect to the network have been taking upwards of 20 minutes to start an OFFlINE game. And as of teh 29/12/14 this is still the case.

This is ridiculous,, I got pvz as a Christmas present (as I’m a pvz fan) and can’t even play it. I can’t re-new my psn membership to play it. (I’m online thou, I followed those steps)
Change the mtu to 1200 and it’ll work. That’s what I had to do it didn’t work at 1450 for me
