As you probably know, PlayStation Network and some other gaming services were attacked over the holidays with artificially high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. This may have prevented your access to the network and its services over the last few days.

The video game industry has been experiencing high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. Multiple networks, including PSN, have been affected over the last 48 hours. PSN engineers are working hard to restore full network access and online gameplay as quickly as possible.
From time to time there may be disruptions in service due to surges in traffic, but our engineers will be working to restore service as quickly as possible.
If you received a PlayStation console over the holidays and have been unable to log onto the network, know that this problem is temporary and is not caused by your game console. We’ll continue to keep you posted on Twitter at @AskPlayStation and we’ll update this post once the problems subside.

Can someone teach these people that if you take something for granted, you then start to believe that it is your property and that no one should temper with it, or else they’ll temper with you. Gamers, you aren’t making us look good when you start crying only for a few family days instead of gaming days!

It is now the 29th of december and i still cannot get my ps4 to log back in to psn this is a disgrace now that we have to pay for a service which is worse than when it was free to use
Still cannot access psn on my ps4. Comes up with some error code regarding my internet connection. My PS3 is fine and my connection is good. The error code is NW-31194-8 I can use Netflix and Internet explorer but it won’t let me sign into my psn on the ps4 console. This is becoming a joke.

je suggére a sony d’embaucher ces hackers pour protéger son systéme , ils seront apparement plus efficace que ses ingenieurs.
J’étais un inconditionnel de sony ,mais ça commence à faire beaucoup, ce n’est pas la première fois que cela ce produit.

Mine is still down
So far my PlayStation 4 has been more of a waste of money than anything. A glorified blue ray and netflix player is about it. Why is it Xbox live is up and running while psn is still struggling to restore service to its consumers. Almost like Sony doesn’t give a ****.

Well it is now 4:35am Monday December 29the and I still can’t sign in on my ps4… Ps3 is working fine, Am I doing something wrong or is they network still messed up

I still have the same issue I have done the MTU change to 1473 as many mention but still no good. Can someone advise anything else to try please as I had this for Christmas and as yet can’t play on it…!!!!!! Thanks
Well after 5 days no PSN I’ve just tried the MTU settings from 1500 to 1473 and it WORKED!!!!!!!!
I’m online but was is the most frustrating part is that it wasn’t Sony that provided the solution once again it was a member of the community that solved Sony’s problem Bravo Sony Bravo you’ve handled yourself so poorly over this debacle.

What’s the grid in which your restoring people to the servers?
I am STILL waiting to log into the PSN for the first time since I got my PS4. I have an account already from my PS3, but have not been able to log into the PSN. Keeps saying that the server is disconnecting the connection. I tried to contact @askPlayStation but have yet to receive ANY word. (Over 24 hours ago) and am starting to loose my patience that you all keep thanking us for…..

Good morning to all. I’m from the UK. Just to let everyone know that the service is still down stating the same error code The Connection To The Server Has Been Terminated (NW-31194-8) it states on the official play station website that the service were back up and running on the 27th December and also from IGN.com. Can sign in to my IPAD from home on PSN but not on PS4. Also bought a 1 years subscription to the network on the 23rd and still can’t use and we are on the 29th now, but has of Microsoft they have been restored and there service is on?

Totally unacceptable for the service to still be off-line, My son is being very grown up about his PS4 not working but it reminds me of the year my Mum and Dad bought me a Commodore64!!!! A very disappointing christmas indeed. did I mention he can’t really play any of his games either as they are very dependant on the network! :(

Just think, how many people might change 2 xbox live over this? I paid 40 quid on 22 Dec 4 PS Plus, now lost 4 days of it. If it was free, cant complain, but it is not FREE anymore. COMPENSATION FROM SONY? Lets wait and see.
