As you probably know, PlayStation Network and some other gaming services were attacked over the holidays with artificially high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. This may have prevented your access to the network and its services over the last few days.

The video game industry has been experiencing high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. Multiple networks, including PSN, have been affected over the last 48 hours. PSN engineers are working hard to restore full network access and online gameplay as quickly as possible.
From time to time there may be disruptions in service due to surges in traffic, but our engineers will be working to restore service as quickly as possible.
If you received a PlayStation console over the holidays and have been unable to log onto the network, know that this problem is temporary and is not caused by your game console. We’ll continue to keep you posted on Twitter at @AskPlayStation and we’ll update this post once the problems subside.

GUYS THIS IS HOW YOU GET ONLINE ON PS4 THX ME AFTER If your PSN is still down, follow these steps:
Boot up your PlayStation 4.
Go to “settings.”
Go to “network.”
Select “custom.”
In this menu, leave everything as default except MTU.
Change MTU settings to “1473.”
Save your changes.
Follow theses step it will work

Langdon77 who cares about CoD I’d just like to be able to access my roster updates on Madden and to have access to my damn Netflix. Go troll somewhere else. It’s a paid service, people have the right to be mad.
Internet settings, choose the auto setting for everything up to the the MTU its set to 1500 drop it to 1475 or so and you should be able to sign in if your still having difficulties. Quick warning may screw with your bandwidth but once network is up in its full reset MTU to 1500 worked for me. Enjoy Sony community.

Try this.
Here are the steps, in case you want to:
1. Go to settings.
2. Go to Network.
3. Set up Internet Connection.
4. Choose wifi or LAN, whatever you use.
5. Choose CUSTOM.
6. IP Address – Automatic
7. DCHP – Do Not Specify
8. DNS – Automatic
9. MTU Settings – MANUAL
10. It will be set to 1500 BY DEFAULT. Click that, change it to 1473. Press R2.
11. Click Next.
12. Proxy – Do Not Use
Done!
Do this it will work!!!!
I live in Seattle, Washington and I still can’t login to PSN
I love your guys service and I truly think you guys impressed us all with everything you have brought over the years. However, I do think we should have the service we think we deserve when you guys asked to pay for online. I don’t mind it we all win. But, I am disappointed that my ps4 hasn’t worked since Tuesday due to all this crap going on. Even now that “everything is back on” I’m still having issues and I really just hope you guys can get it figured out soon.

I have tried everything to sign in to the PSN on my PS4 and nothing works. I can get online but not able to play games and keep getting error codes. It worked fine before the holidays and now Playstation says its online. I can not sign into PSN. Can anyone please help? This is the most expensive paper weight I have ever bought. I can sign in on my PS3 just fine.
When will we expect PSN to up and running fully?

Honestly poor and bad service from Sony to resolve current problem. i has invested hours to resolve connection and still is not working my account. I had try all recomendations. Time for Chating with an agent was over 20 min. And he recommended to talk by phone,. under a situation all company must be working to resolve problem and support customera. at least is what I think a premiun compny should do.
Its 11:00pm Mountain time here in Alberta, and I can sign into my ps3 and NOT my Ps4!!! All my friends can!!! What’s going on!!???? Why can’t I log in????

Still getting “The connction to the server has been lost. (NW-31194-8. This is getting old fast. Done all that was told to do in safe mode also! Ps3 has no problem but can’t sign into PS4!!!! Somebody please help and whats the point of paying extra for playstation plus if I cant sign in!!!!
Still down in Western Australia this is poor form PlayStation, I expect a better service considering I pay for this. 6 days and still not back up is just absolutely crap. Do you have an ETA of when this is going to be fully restored? I would like to you know use the service that you are more than happy to take my money for but quite obviously not going to supply me with. extremely disappointed with your service yet again.
To anyone saying it is online and that Sony only owes us the 2-3 days that it was down… Do realize that it is still down for some people. Others are having trouble staying connected. Others are having trouble accessing various services. And then some others are able to get online.
Until you can honestly say that the majority of people are able to get online and access all the PSN functionality, the PSN is not truly online.
Now, repairing things can be frustrating. I should know. However, when I do repair work, especially with regards to networks, I don’t consider my work done until everything is working. Even if it means I have to do unpaid overtime work. If I find out I didn’t finish the work, doesn’t matter what I’m doing, unless it is an emergency, my work isn’t done. Even if I have to work ‘overnight.’ Honest question: Are they still working on the problem or just brushing their hands off because it is working for some?

I understand that PSN has been having difficulties due to the Hacking attack. I don’t have an issue with this but I am having an issue with the fact that its being reported on PSN now as fixed yet I still am unable to sign in to PSN so that I can play my game or do anything with my PS4. This is very upsetting to me as I paid good money for the PS4 unit, the game, and subscription to the game so that I would be able to play it. A reasonable amount of time has passed since the Hacker attack has taken place and I would have expected things to be back to normal by now. Not to mention I got lousy support through your on line live chat today. They had me do a factory reset on my system and moved on to the next customer. Only to be not able to get any further assistance because it said I basically had a lack of time for the on line support left through your systems.

I am not looking for or expecting monetary compensation but I would like to hear from you all on why this has been so difficult to recover from and what steps you all might be taking to prevent this from happening in the future. I have been a loyal PS owner since the original when I was in high school. Though I admit that this lack of service is making me seriously rethink this going forward.
hope hackers are found,punished to maximum of law that can be hand to someone who tries to disrupt service to psn for service and benefits that we have paid for using playstsrion network witch are great too many mention in this post
