As you probably know, PlayStation Network and some other gaming services were attacked over the holidays with artificially high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. This may have prevented your access to the network and its services over the last few days.

The video game industry has been experiencing high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. Multiple networks, including PSN, have been affected over the last 48 hours. PSN engineers are working hard to restore full network access and online gameplay as quickly as possible.
From time to time there may be disruptions in service due to surges in traffic, but our engineers will be working to restore service as quickly as possible.
If you received a PlayStation console over the holidays and have been unable to log onto the network, know that this problem is temporary and is not caused by your game console. We’ll continue to keep you posted on Twitter at @AskPlayStation and we’ll update this post once the problems subside.

My PSN isn’t working. It’s saying “the connection to the server has been lost.” Is PSN back up or not. I just love paying for a service that I can’t use.

Thanks to the people who gave the step by step on how to get psn back up. It worked for me??
It is very upseting that they list the network status as Online when in fact it is still not 100% fixed. Sony should be clear and specify that there is still something failing. Every time that I try to sign in I get the same NW-31194-8 code. Because they are not open on the issue, I have been left with no options. I tried everything they listed, even knowing it was not the real solution just to be sure that they were not being honest. I am very dissapointed and frustrated with the situation.
How do you get hacked by the lizard squad obviously you need better engineers or at least have a backup drive to prevent stuff like this

The only thing sony owes us is the days missed out on PSN nothing else. Which is 2-3 days. PSN is on right now stop making stuff up. Also DDoSing isn’t hacking, it does not breach security. It works the way the internet works, it goes through the front door. The reason why its bad is because its a bunch of data clogging up the front door. You guys should seriously get your brains checked

After more than three days of not being able to access my movies or games at Christmas,+ SuperSaiyan_Goku’s fix worked instantly, but I’m kind of curious as to why I can’t find it posted anywhere else by Sony.
So, I recently obtained a PS4 that came with a voucher to download one of four games for free. The page that the instructions tell me to go to claims that it is currently under maintenance. Any idea on how long until I can get my game?

Soooo am I the only person in the world that still cannot sign into the playstation network? All my friends can sign in, my neighbor can go to the PS store but I can’t? I didn’t buy Playstation Plus and a one week boost in LoadOut to just throw money away! Please fix this immediately.

Ok psn was up and working fine for me a few days ago I started downloading the rest of the games I has bought a few weeks ago and got to dragon age went to download it and it all worked but when I went into the game to play it it kept kicking me to the ps menu with errors and said to delete it and redownload it so I did and it doesn’t show up in my library like it should be and when I go to the store I only have the option to buy it again and even though it’s cheaper I’m not paying 50$ for the same thing I bought and I had the inquisition edition too so whats up with this????
