The video game industry has been experiencing high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. Multiple networks, including PSN, have been affected over the last 48 hours. PSN engineers are working hard to restore full network access and online gameplay as quickly as possible.
From time to time there may be disruptions in service due to surges in traffic, but our engineers will be working to restore service as quickly as possible.
If you received a PlayStation console over the holidays and have been unable to log onto the network, know that this problem is temporary and is not caused by your game console. We’ll continue to keep you posted on Twitter at @AskPlayStation and we’ll update this post once the problems subside.

MTU 1470 worked for me if it helps anyone
It’s the day after the network went down and I’ve been unable to log in to the play station store on my ps4 or vita, no online gaming the only things I’ve been able to do online is Netflix, Hulu, and occasionally the browser and I’ve tried all the fixes in the troubleshooting and all its done is make it sign me out of ps4 and have even less of a connection

I’ll say this sorry and thank you for you patience can only last but so long. It’s going to be hard to brush this one under the rug. Your competitor had the say thing happen to them and they are up and running 95 if not 100%. What are you going to do to compensate all the customers (because we are paying for a service) for this huge inconvenience. No an extended psn plus membership won’t due because as a new ps4 owner I hear your network is not as reliable as you say. All and all fix it and give your customers something that shows you care! P.s. Xbox one is looking better and better! !

My PS4 still won’t sign into the Playstation Network ?. Is this happening with anyone else?? I don’t know what to do, with my games and everything else I bought for online play all that is useless. Please tell me if it’s just me or it’s happening to others too.

Are you guys going to fix PSN so it doesn’t require changing the MTU to sign in? I can’t sign in now unless my MTU is 1477 or lower. Auto, which used to work, now results in a NW-31194-8 error.
Changing the MTU works and I can online game, but then the Test Internet screen complains that my router might not support IP fragmentation and some PS4 network features might be restricted, which is rich since it seems like PSN doesn’t support IP fragmentation now.

since dec 25 2014 when i got my ps4 till now dec 28 ive tried t log in to my account 97 times and same message over nd over again i would b happy if i just saw something different on my screen cause this is getting awful right now

Why do friends close to me have access to PSN But I still can’t log in? I have unplugged, factory reset, and reinitialized please help.
This is bs it’s still not up. Almost to the point of going and selling my ps4 and wanting my money back for a subscription I can’t use. Protect your stuff better what else do we pay your company for, other then to make you all rich.
It really is frustrating. It ruined my Christmas. And I still can’t buy the game I wanna play because psn is still down for me.
I’m sure an Firmware update will fix the need to change MTU in the future….

Have a ps4 and still can’t connect to servers. Ran through Internet test all is good except can’t login to PSN. I’ve tried everything but it keeps saying “connection to the server has been terminated every time I try to log back in to PSN. What do I do ?

I find it funny that you still were still able to charge my credit card on 12/26 at 3:57 p.m. for PS Plus renewal, yet I wasn’t able to enter the card for renewal I received for Christmas. Had to pay twice! Crap. Absolute crap.
