The video game industry has been experiencing high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. Multiple networks, including PSN, have been affected over the last 48 hours. PSN engineers are working hard to restore full network access and online gameplay as quickly as possible.
From time to time there may be disruptions in service due to surges in traffic, but our engineers will be working to restore service as quickly as possible.
If you received a PlayStation console over the holidays and have been unable to log onto the network, know that this problem is temporary and is not caused by your game console. We’ll continue to keep you posted on Twitter at @AskPlayStation and we’ll update this post once the problems subside.

Also, a few spotty days is one thing, but when it becomes a fairly regular occurrence, perhaps there is a serious issue that needs to be resolved?
And 23 days during a lower usage period for a system that wasn’t as heavily tied to PSN isn’t much worse than a week during a high usage period for a system that is heavily tied to the PSN.
Especially considering some factors like:
PS+ users often can’t make use of sales due to the monthly free games. (If you got the game as part of the free game system and the game later goes on sale, you can’t buy the game at the sale price until your PS+ runs out… except PS+ users get a bonus discount and you can’t really force it to run out at whim).
Combine that with if your PS+ drops, you need to be able to connect to PSN to reactivate it.

I’m still unable to access my account, my games downloaded on plus…Destiny is unplayable last I checked, yet a friend of mine who lives 20 minutes away has their service back up and running and was able to play Call of Duty. Do you mind explaining the issue? I really hope you folks are able to reimburse that mandatory Plus your paying customers have lost.

I decide to say **** Xbox and decide to try the PS4 and all i get is this ****……I cant even redeem my damn code to choose the free game that came with the bundle. Sony needs to get its **** together 4 ****ing days……..like what the **** xbox live has been back on and no response here. Its as if sony doesnt care about their customers. Im very disappointed.

When everything is sorted out, Sony will probably credit sub time back to those that lost it.
As for FFXIV, that’s up to S-E. Since they don’t have the disruption on their end, they might not do anything about it. Sending their support a message might be the best option in that case.
I was only aware of FF14 as an exclusively online game.
And yes, things like party chat and messaging, etc, is inaccessible.
But my point was that the PS4 has not suddenly become “a pretty brick”… You can still play the vast majority of your games, earn trophies, save your game, and so on.

Waaaah,, Boo hoo.. waaaah. Yes, having no PSN online is kinda crap. I just bought a Ps4 on Boxing Day, but I was able to play all the games offline anyway. Some of you people are the biggest whiny babies I’ve ever seen. How old are most you, like 12?
One guys comment is the kids got the week off and haven’t been able to play their games. Yes they can, just not online.. Not to mention the fact they can do anything else other than sit and play video games throughout the entire holiday. Sheesh. Go play with their friends, do something out side.. I dunno.
I do think it is pretty stupid cause Valve and Microsoft both got the same attack.. Steam went down for about 2 hours and Xbox Live was down for like 24hours? Sony can’t even get their servers up in the same week. Pretty embarrassing, but not the end of the world. “GRRR I can’t play online and I deserve something for free now!! I can’t. All my games are online based or require PS+.
And this isn’t the first time I couldn’t use it either. For the first two months, my PS4 really was a pretty brick. The game I bought for about 120 USD on launch could not run for more than a few minutes at a time. Even when it did run for a few minutes, it was nowhere near the point that the game claimed.
I asked for a refund from both the company and from Sony. Both denied it, telling me to just wait. And I waited… about two months before I finally had it and got a different game.
Im still not able to connect …… to anything. I’ve done all t by e recommended fixes and still nothing.
I have tried everything. I even rebooted the ps4 and I still can not log in to my psn.
It’s because it’s sony

That sure fixed it. Odd how changing one setting fixes the issue. Now, does anyone care to explain what the whole MTU thing is?
(Apparently they fixed the game a month or two after I got a different game, but by then I had already given up on the game).
It is one thing if you have a bunch of offline games. It is another if you have no offline games… or if you have no physical offline games and a new PS4/PS Vita. Since to download the games, you need to connect to PSN….
If youre lucky you can, but for a lot of people it still isn’t working. Fix your **** sony

Well mines still not working, and my previous comment got deleted, I want a response back from Sony, I pay to play Sony and get this kind of service . I think those of us who were with Sony a while deserve something.
Funny thing is I’m actually not that upset since I sort of expected this to happen. I’ve been spending my time fixing things, reading things, programming, etc.

im glad that its all up and running for the most part, just recently got mine to go online for the first time since i got the ps4, but i want to know when i will be able to redeem this four games one pick thing, i cant get to the link on the website and it doesnt work on PSN with the ps4 x.x
I still cannot login to PSN with PS4. I can finally log into my account online but when I try on the PS4 it keeps giving me a NW-31109-07 (or something Similar) error. Also yes Sony I have tried restarting the console, and router, several times. I only have a month left and was hoping to play Dragon Age Inquisition and use the Dragon age Keep to start a new game, but can’t without PSN. Destiny is also Impossible to access without PSN. I would appreciate it if Sony could help with this issue.
