As you probably know, PlayStation Network and some other gaming services were attacked over the holidays with artificially high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. This may have prevented your access to the network and its services over the last few days.

The video game industry has been experiencing high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. Multiple networks, including PSN, have been affected over the last 48 hours. PSN engineers are working hard to restore full network access and online gameplay as quickly as possible.
From time to time there may be disruptions in service due to surges in traffic, but our engineers will be working to restore service as quickly as possible.
If you received a PlayStation console over the holidays and have been unable to log onto the network, know that this problem is temporary and is not caused by your game console. We’ll continue to keep you posted on Twitter at @AskPlayStation and we’ll update this post once the problems subside.

You guys saying network is back but this is all bs ,still unable to connect my ps4 , don’t know why you guys charging us if you don’t capable engineers to resolve the issues. It’s been 4 days
How are the servers going now, I would look on twitter but I got pushed and logged out of twitter due to a unknown cause.
Absolutely ridiculous. Still haven’t had the chance to play online. I just got this on Christmas eve and its the same lies they’re telling me everyday. Just admit u have no idea how to handle the problem.
They better compensate us in some way for this…

It is December 28 and I am having all kinda of connection problems and I can most likely returning my ps4 because this just crazy. I’ve been getting constant error codes and when psn was finally back up, it stopped working and none of my dtuff eith download.

I just recently switched from Xbox to the PS4, and a couple of friends had told me bad things about the PSN network, I thought they were exaggerating, but this is a nightmare. Sony looks bush league. I feel like I got hosed, like I should have bought an Xbox 1.
When will code redemption work again? I bought the bundle with free game and I still can’t download that game.

I appreciate the fact we may (key word; MAY) get compensated with great stuff from PlayStation. They usually always make good on incidents like this, even when they really don’t have any obligation to.

Hi the PSN is still down in Onatrio Canada the only way i’ve heard of most people being able to get on PSN at all is by changing the MTU number to 1473 i would like to know when is it going to work without having to change the MTU.

I’m still receiving errors trying to do certain things. I’ve got a reset password email that hasn’t come through yet,and when i try to do it again it refers me to the email that was already “not” sent. won’t let me reset password.

COMPENSATION IS IN ORDER this is absolutely repulsive that a company…a mutli-million dollar company has no back up plan in case something like this happens over the holidays…i DEMAND 2 free games and 1 yr of playstation plus as compensation…completely ridiculous!! and its still not completely fixed going on almost a week now…GET IT TOGETHER SONY!!!

(I bought a PS+ card for a year, but I can’t realistically use it with the PSN being like this. I mean, I am able to get on because I was already logged in, but I can’t login to anything that was not already connected and logged in).
I don’t care about online multiplayer or online apps. I just want to download my free digital game ( The last of us ). I’m glad I got a physical copy of GTAV for PS4 in the bundle and the story-mode is amazing so far.
Any rough estimates for when it will be up and running fully again

@695 2 free games and a year of PS+ is a bit much. A few days of PS+ for everyone affected, sure.
I’d be ok with a decent sale on games that we can actually make use of and a sale on PS+ though I’m sure plenty of people would rather just have their PS+ extended.

I can’t even sign-in with my PS4 at all, i had to keep reloading this page just to finally get sign into the PS Blog just now, this service sucks when it comes offering online gaming. I’m unable to play PS games on my PS4 online with other friends.
You need to get your act together Sony, when running servers for millions to billions of gamers worldwide you need to make sure your very own server’s are able to handle loads of these’s many gamers plus being able to stop DDos attacks as well. You must have some type of weakness in your servers for them to keep your services down for days. Should being PS Plus Membership Money be going to handling of the server’s for PlayStation Network? PSN should be 100 times safe from DDos Attacks and maybe its time you upgrade server’s of the PSN to fight back against DDos attacks and other bad things so this don’t happen again.

They should put a disclaimer saying that it is down, but that some people may be able to log in or use it. Saying it is online is like implying that it is the customer’s fault for being unable to connect.
