We’re excited that PS Experience is just around the corner, and in leading up to the show… we have an interesting poll for PlayStation Network users and fans of SNK / NEOGEO to participate in here on the official PS.Blog.
Together with SCEA 3rd Party Productions, and in commemoration of next year’s 25th Anniversary of the AES & MVS, SNK PLAYMORE is very happy to bring back some of our best NEOGEO content to current-gen hardware / PSN – starting with METAL SLUG 3 on PS4 and PS Vita (compatible with PlayStation TV) platforms, as well as PS3.
Being that we’re curious as to what the fanbase is looking for, please vote for which title(s) you would love to see on PSN in the near future! Make sure to spread the word that we’re asking for feedback from the fans via this poll, and listening to what you guys have to say.

Rarely post here but I signed in just to say…. PLEASE release Garou: Mark of the Wolves and Last Blade 2! …preferably with online play but I would buy straight, well done, ports as well…no forced filter options either please.
I’ve voted and was happy to see they are both leading the poll, hopefully SNK listens and gets those out next.
After they are out feel free to get us Samurai Shodown V Special next and, even though its not on the list to vote for, King of Fighters 98 would be awesome.
Finally, while I know you guys don’t own the license, I will echo others before me and suggest Windjammers! I know its not going to happen but that would be fantastic.
The Neo Geo collection of games on my PS3 was getting a bit stale, good to see some PS4 updates! Samurai Showdown 2 is my all time favorite and biggest request, but what about smaller titles like Nam 1975 or Crossed Swords as well!?
Metal slug is awesome I remember playing it at the laundry mat lol any ways glad to see this game come to vita hopefully we can get sonic 1-3 and maybe eventually the sonic adventure games?
Give me all NeoGeo library. I would buy them all. But Please, make it an acceptable price.
And if possible have good online in the NA/EU for fighters, that is what we want. Remember, not everybody has Japan online. =(
I’m sure the sequels were great but I’d still love to see the original Sengoku available on a Playstation console, 3 or 4. Otherwise, my vote is for the third game in the trilogy.
Really want the shmups. It’s a small but dedicated community, routinely paying lots for Japanese imports.
Blazing Star has never been released on a console as far as I know — apart from the Neo Geo X. It’s the one I really want.
Last blade 2 gets my vote. But ports of KOF XI and X would be sweet.

I’m glad to see Neo-Geo games coming out again, but I really hope it’s done right.
Please read this. It may be a bit long, but it comes from someone who cares very much for classic video games and I think the majority of Neo•Geo fans feel similarly about it.
As an original owner of the Neo•Geo (purchased nearly 24 years ago to this day!) I will buy them all again on here only of they are given the treatment they deserve. I’ve contacted Playmore/SNK in the past with some tips for releases on Neo•Geo Station, but unfortunately I don’t think they listened.
So, to start, I would begin with the same, or similar, NGS setup. It was very slick and easy to navigate. The one big change I would make is have it so when new Neo games are purchased they are added to a single launched game front-end.
NG fans are all about quality and this should be reflected here. Options are a must have Neo•Geo games. I’d like to see the following:
Pt2…
Video options;
1:1 pixel option, resizable screen and aspect ratio (4:3, 16:9), scanline emulation, other filters (but there must be a clean pixel option w/ filters off)
Game options;
MVS(arcade) / AES (home console) modes, Language switching (USA/JPN/EUR). This is necessary for certain games which have censorship. I.E. blood in the Metal Slug games.
Online options;
Low latency network co-op play, voice chat, trophy support.
Misc options;
Save/load states, music jukebox player (ideally like NG Station), instruction manual scan, 24Mhz OverClocking on Metal Slug 2 (again like with NG Station)

Game Releases;
Please don’t forget about the original classics. That being, games which are not KOF, Metal Slug, or Samurai Shodown. Sure those are the goto games for many, but there are so many other great games in the Neo library which deserve to be played.
Some of the games I’d like to see released; NAM-1975, Magician Lord, Cyber-Lip, League Bowling, Sengoku 1-3, Ninja Combat, Top Player’s Golf, Ghost Pilots, Shock Troopers 2, Last Resort, and many others…
There were 125+ games officially released for the Neo•Geo. It would be interesting to see a new game every two weeks, or something that effect. That type of constant release schedule was hugely successful for Rock Band, so why not with classic games?

I would be into several of the fighting games but that is number 1. All I ask is to base the releases off the Arcade, not the playstation versions as they don’t run as well please!

I just watched a video for Sengoku 3 and am rather let down to see how different it is from the first game. This one appears to be much more of a generic side scrolling game. No transformations or random power ups now? What could be it’s secret?

Adam Laatz – Can I ask why the choice of NEO GEO games is so small? Is it due to emulating the games and licensing or just which you thought were the most popular?
I’d love Puzzle Bobble/Bust a move 2 too, my favourite in the series and this version on the NEO GEO was perfection!

Samurai Shodown 2, and especially Samurai Shodown V Special. It’s the 20th anniversary of SS2, and the 10th anniversary of SS5 Special, with Special not having any release outside of the arcade, and carts are highly expensive. Make it happen.
Also, with 5 Special, it needs to be the original uncensored version.

You have the opportunity to port a goddamn holy grail of fighting games – one which NEVER had a good port — and you have the audacity put it up against OTHER games!? How DARE you!

Seriously, I can’t emphasize how good this game is. Even Last Blade for the NeoGeo freaking Pocket is so bloody amazing it absolutely DESTROYS 90% of the NEW fighting games. If you chose to waste the opportunity to leave this gem to the wolves, you’ll do SNK’s legacy a HUGE disservice.
This is the opposite of Samurai Shodown 5 Special, which you should NOT port. SNK always intended for the last official NeoGeo game they made to be exclusive to the system, so that those of us who actually saved up bought it would always have a memento. Please, turn your attention to Last Blade 2 instead, it’s BEGGING for a new audience.

Really, just add all of them. Seconding a request for KOF ’98 Ultimate Match and 2002 Ultimate Match. SNK’s strongest and most recognizable titles have been its fighting games. The original lineup of PSN Neo Geo titles may be historically significant but most of those games really have not withstood the test of time or were surpassed by far superior sequels. It’s extremely difficult to rationalize paying the current price for games like Art of Fighting 1, Fatal Fury 1 or World Heroes.
Arcade titles that would be great to add are Windjammers, The Super Spy and Crossed Swords.

I beat Metal Slug 3 like a million times when i was younger,and i don’t mind beating it a million more times,hands down the best MS out there.KOF and Garou are really amazing fighting games too.Really liked the Neogeo Classics idea.
