Update: We know many of you were looking forward to playing the promised DRIVECLUB PS Plus Edition and we are truly sorry for the delay. Our first priority is to provide you with the best possible experience while playing DRIVECLUB. With the high volume of new players and additional server load the PS Plus Edition is anticipated to bring, we are currently not confident that we can guarantee the best online experience. Until we can ensure that everyone can enjoy the full social connected online experience, we will be postponing the release of the PS Plus Edition until further notice.

@jestadaddy, You are referring to me? (Sorry, I have 1 post awaiting moderation, so the post numbers I see are off.)
I got my PS Plus Edition from Asia PSN subscription 24 hours ago (they already removed it though).
I still want the US version for the more familiar XO button assignment, so I hesitate to play too much on the Asia version as the save file may not be compatible across regions.
This was not planned very well, now was it? I really wanted to play Driveclub, was looking forward to it all week. Seriously, how did this happen? How come Sony and/or Evolution has not been more forthcoming? I realize this isn’t the end of the world, but this totally sucks. Big letdown. Two thumbs down.
Driveclub is “Forza Killer”? I think not. Before criticizing me I inform to you that I have PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PSP and PSX (DVR) and I not own Microsoft consoles.
February 2013: announcement DRIVECLUB

We’re sorry for the trouble you are experiencing trying to access the online modes – we’re working hard on resolving the issue.
In the meantime, you can still play offline with single player mode as you start your DRIVECLUB tour. You’ll still be able to earn fame, unlock cars and get to grips with all of the options for playing and creating your own events and challenges.
Everything you do will be synchronised with the servers when you do get connected, so you can set-up a bunch of challenges to send out to your friends as soon as you are able to join them online.
We’re temporarily holding back the PS Plus Edition while we work to improve online connectivity and server load for DRIVECLUB to support all of our players.
We will keep you informed as we make progress and as soon as we can confirm when the PS Plus Edition will be available for you to download we will let you know.
We’re sorry that PS Plus members are having to wait longer and we’re working hard to get the game to you as quickly as possible.
Further info is being posted to our official DRIVECLUB facebook page, where you can also find the full message about the server limit issues we encountered yesterday and are working hard to fix –> http://on.fb.me/1qfy19i
Holding it back for your “paying” customers eh Sony? Classy. So those of us who preordered our PS4s after E3 2013 and purchased on launch day, who were promised a free exclusive game by YOU Sony, who have spent upwards of $1,000 on the PS4 and games since launch are NOT getting a title we were promised because we’re not “paying” customers. Awesome. Good to know where the dedicated stand.
We are sorry that PlayStation Plus members are not able to download the free PS Plus Edition of the game. This is only temporarily while we work to get improve the servers because they are being pushed to their absolute limits right now.
We’ve held it back because we want to ensure that you have the best experience possible when you come online.
After 17 pages of KNOWN DriveClub issues, I’m here to help those trying to get Rainbow Moon for the Vita that already have purchased the PS3 version in the past. To get the free copy for your PS+, login to https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com go to PS Plus section, click Free games. Here you will see all three versions of Rainbow Moon. For whatever reason, the bundle version comes up unavailable at first. Add just the PS Vita version to your cart and checkout. Now go back to your Vita, go to the PS Store and bring up your download list. You should be able to download it now.
It’s kind of sad really. Drive Club had such promise only to end up where it is now; a half-baked, second thought of a game that doesn’t even warrant the enough servers/techs to handle its launch properly. On top of that, the lack of info on the Plus version delay really brings home just how chaotic things are at evolution right now.
It’s kind of funny how the blog is so silent about this game. You’d think Sony & Evolution would want to be up front and let everyone know what is going on. So far we have some replies in this post and Rushy’s facebook post and that’s about all I’ve seen from ‘official’ sources? Terrible communication.
It also doesn’t help that Evolution wove the server connection so tightly into the game so it has to bug you constantly that it ‘cannot connect to the driveclub servers’. Every minute it’s scrolling red test across the middle of the stupid screen. Who thought this was a good idea?? Put a notification in the corner of the screen or something! It’s so annoying and I’m sure having each and every game out in the wild constantly trying to log in isn’t helping them. If they gave us the option to turn off the connection to the driveclub server in the game maybe that might help the server loads they are seeing?
“We’re temporarily holding back the PS Plus Edition while we work to improve online connectivity and server load for DRIVECLUB to support all of our players.”
PR-speak at its finest! What’s seems to be going on here is that Sony realized everyone would just flat out opt for the free version. So then they hoped we wouldn’t be TOO upset that they decided to delay the free version in order to see how many sales they can get out of the opening weeks of the paid version. They didn’t announce the last minute switcheroo because it would have gone over like a lead balloon to all of us expecting the game we were promised. Remember this a “bonus” game for October’s PS Plus so they can do whatever they want with it and claim that they didn’t say it would available on the day of the official DriveClub launch.
Go on Sony, you go ahead and “improve online connectivity and server load” for a game certainly not anticipated by anyone to be a blockbuster. They’re just doing it to benefit all of us, right? How thoughtful of them!

Sony, can I get a full refund on my INDIESTATION 4 and Playstion MINUS subscription???? 400.00(+50 for your declining FORCED service and all it’s bugs and Indiegarbage)
Also love how you guys did the bait n switch and now are purposely holding Driveclub back in a lame effort to get people to buy it, I am so happy it Bombed(7 IGN and Lower scores elsewhere)
I LOVED you guys since my 1st PS1 back in 95/96 all the way up till this past year. Now I can’t stand you guys. I will seriously trade my PS4 straight up for a Wii U or Xbone. I would sell it, but no one in there right mind would give me anything more than maybe 100-200.00 for it, despite it being pristine condition and virtually NOT USED at all and I’m not going to get bent over by GameStop. Haven’t downloaded a game from INDIEStation MINUS since Trine 2/Resogun. Thanks for ruining what used to be the best gaming experience one could have not names Steam or SNES.
WE SEE RIGHT THROUGH YOU $ONY! Jig is up. So sad what you guys became this past year and all the lies ever since E-3 2013…,.
The incompetence being displayed is laughable at best. The server excuse would be acceptable a year ago but not today. What have the developers been doing all this time?! This is a blatant ploy to get people to cave and just buy the retail version. Shame on you all!
Let’s delay the game a year and add cool rain effects. What you guys want to test server load, dont need to, it’s not like playstation has had this problem before…. NOT
Too bad that Sony guys don’t know how to control damagel. When you have problems, you should inform ASAP, instead of silent and make your customer angry, because they don’t know what’s going on.
Look at EU Blog and see people react there, they are not angry because they know the problem before the store update.
I hope that, in the future, when PSN have any problem like downtime server, you guys should inform us first. That way, your customer feel your respect, and may be not angry or nervous like this day.
Wow… I’ve not seen so much collective whining in my life!
Is waiting another few hours or *gasp* a day going to kill you?
Just play something else and chill out. It’s going to be fixed. They server load probably wasn’t stable enough for every Plus member to download a huge game all at once. Sure, maybe they should have been more prepared, but stuff happens. I’m quite sure it was not intentional as some of you are suggesting.
@860. Here’s this cheeseburger you paid for… oh wait there’s no meat….. heads shold roll for this. They knew everyone and there grandmother would download this.. Sony really needs to fix their ****..
@860. Here’s this cheeseburger you paid for… oh wait there’s no meat….. heads shold roll for this. They knew everyone and there grandmother would download this.. Sony really needs to fix their severs…
I don’t get the people defending this. Are you telling me that servers can not be stress tested? Are you implying that there was no way to predict the number of people who would download the game at launch? Either they are holding the game back to induce more full price sales or they admit to being incompetent in the field of game development, which one is it?!
@ 860 when you delay a game many times for many different reason then you don’t actually include dynamic weather at launch which is why you delayed it in the first place and you have server issues and don’t even release the free version (because of said “server issues”) that was promised long long ago then people have the right to be angry I’ve seen nothing but lies and broken promises some times gamers whine just because but in this case its 100% deserved and the whole thing seems shady at best.
Driveclub is slowly getting online. I just got restored while playing. Fingers crossed for all ps+ members patiently waiting. I want people to play it.Evolution is working on it. God speed..
@itzkrizzz The servers are up but they’re hitting a limit, so many players can only play solo until the game connects (when there’s space)
11:28am – 8 Oct 14
On there twitter.. also says no ps+ today for EU, not sure about the US.
@LeonDunsby EU PS Plus Edition will not be available today – we will announce a date as soon as we can confirm the servers are ready for it
11:31am – 8 Oct 14
My only question is what are you guys doing with the PS+ subscription money now that Plus is mandatory for PS4 to play online. You’re obviously not spending it on server upgrades and basic mainenance, and you’re surely not spending it on the PS+ games because they’ve been pretty lackluster all year
I’m sorry but this whole fiasco, in addition to the too little too late response, just makes me want this game even less than I already did. In a year that’s seeing NUMEROUS high quality racing games, you would think that Evolution would try to do something for their fans. Oh, you have PS Plus? Sorry, no preloading because you didn’t pay us. You want want to download the game the day we said it was going to be available? Sorry, you didn’t pay us. My understanding of this whole “PS Plus Edition” is that they were doing this as an attempt to get those PS Plus editions converted into full game upgrades. However, it seems more likely that fewer and fewer people will download the PS Plus Edition now, meaning less and less sales. Combine that with the mediocre reviews, and we’ve got ourselves a DOA racing game.
Haha this is too pathetic, sorry but at least M$ had balls and delivered Forza 2 at the day they promised they would, at least they RESPECTED their clients and not filled them with bull and lies.
At this point why not give PS+ owners the full version of the game. The last 3 months have been terrible anyways. The sales have also sucked. Thank god for Dark Souls 2 DLC…
PSn has been a mess on PS4 and getting worse the last few months, Sony never communicates if they are fixing or improving it….Messages delay take 5 minutes to send, friends lists don’t always load, live from PS doesnt always load, connection errors..What a disgrace..Sony is going to start losing sales if this is not fixed fast. PSn is a joke currently the competition is simply way better in this area. Charging us for PLUS and the service being so bad right now is an insult.
@834 The plus version was available in Hong Kong.

FAILSONY PS4 – For The Players
Another week goes by and no sign of Minecraft for Vita. Yay =/
DriveClub’s club features haven’t worked since I downloaded the game onto my console.
