Awsome! I have been waiting for both Spelunky and Dust: an Elysian tale to become ps plus titles:) BEYOND!!!
Great this is our first chance at a non indie game for freebie and it’s a demo. I don’t want demos in the IGC Sony!
DUST really needs to come to Vita. And FENIX RAGE too!!
man i don’t remember very well, but i’m pretty sure i got arkham asylum by free game from plus a few months ago, so are we repeating the games sony? dude, seriuosly? next month what? koff XIII, SF IV arcade edition, or maybe you’re gonna go further back and give us little big planet 2… man and i just renewed my suscription for 1 year :(
I’m at the point where I could really use some sorting/folder options for organizing my games on the PS4, and it’s the free games that are most at fault for that. Take it as a complaint with love.
Ah, good ol’ PS Plus blog commenters, oh how I’ve not missed you. Its been months and its still 95% moaning, calling this the worst month ever, HA!
Its a solid offering, though idk about Pix or the DriveClub demo. For the people complaining that its Asylum and not City, Arkham City was offered free months ago (and also had people complaining that they already owned it)
Good month, but I’m still waiting on Saints Row IV
Is this Drive Club the same as the 49.99 dollar retail game or a lite version?
Damn! I just bought Arkham Asylum!
I’m not gonna come on here and say whether or not the IGC games are good or bad. There’s enough people doing that. I will say that I don’t appreciate demos in the IGC. You’re not fooling everybody
@360, if you’re referring to DriveClub, it’s in addition to the other games being offered for PS4. So even if you want to look at it as a demo, it’s a bonus on top of the other two games.
@ Str8edgeMike – SCEU have said there are “no plans” for SR4 to go in the IGC, although it’s subject to change. Now the Plus offerings are aligned for both NA and EU I would guess it’s applicable here too.
Personally, I wouldn’t be surprised to see SR4 appear in the IGC to coincide with the launch of Gat Out of Hell.
@361 – Of course I’m referring to DriveClub and I don’t care if it’s in addition to the other games. It’s still a demo and it has no place in the IGC. If anything that demo should be made available to everybody with or without PS Plus since they’re charging full price for the “upgrade” anyway. It does not belong in the IGC
@363 I guess I look at it as they didn’t need to offer DriveClub for free (even part of it) at all, so the fact they put it behind the PS+ paywall doesn’t necessarily bother me. Do you have a friend who doesn’t have Plus and is upset about this, or are you upset out of principle?
Wow. This is terrible. Arkham Asylum? A 5 year-old game, put on Plus *after* the sequel was put on a few months back? Plus has had some great months in the last year, so I’m not saying it was a total waste, but I’m just not seeing why I’d renew my plus when it expires in December. The glory days for PS3 owners were brief, and are clearly behind us. Sad.
I think it’s a pretty good lineup, mostly something for everyone which is always a win as far as I’m concerned. Looks like a few I’ll try out but first I have to let my plus elapse so I can throw some $ at the teams behind Resogun, and Outlast. My 2 favorite PS4 PSN games :) after that I’ll renew my Plus…!
I do feel obliged to point out to posters who are doing the name-calling and chastising those criticizing this month’s line-up that at the end of the announcement, Sony says they WANT our feedback. You can do all the chest-thumping and insulting that you want, but the bottom line is that Sony wisely WANTS to know what their consumers think, critical and not. They’re big boys and don’t need you to defend them.
@johnny_toastburn:
+1
Also, for those who don’t mind not having all their games tied to one account: You guys can always make a new account with a different e-mail address. It’s completely free, and then you can buy anything you like.
Yeah, it’s kinda lame that you can’t buy things once you’ve acquired them through the IGC. But after all the generally sneaky crap we’ve seen of late, it’s not too surprising. They want you to keep Plus forever, and making it even a little less convenient to buy games you already got free assures that most people will simply give up and keep Plus. Besides, it’s not convenient to cancel Plus either. You have it until it expires whether you like it or not.
Anyway I’m rambling now, lol. Time for bed I guess.
While PSplus has it slower months I’m still behind on games that were free last year, bout to play Arkham City finally. Still have games like BIoShock Infinite, Dragons Dogma, and a bunch others still to play.
@johnny_toastburn I strongly disagree on Sony wanting feedback. Over on the EU blog we had a very popular poll that used to be attached to every PS Plus announcement, it was well received by the community and a popular addition. The last 2 months they’ve removed the poll, and the Plus announcement itself has almost 600 comments from it’s users but not a single reply from any of the blog staff whatsoever.
Funny way to go about “wanting our feedback”.
@363
Not a demo. You don’t get trophies from demos. You dang sure don’t get Platinums from them. It’s a scaled down but feature complete version of the full game.
And no, they are not charging full price to upgrade. Full price is $59.99. The upgrade is $49.99. They are giving us the chance to try the game AND get a $10 discount if we want the full thing, and this is in addition to this month’s Plus offerings.
How ANYBODY is complaining about this boggles my mind.
@370
This is the US blog.
The US blog still has the poll.
SCEA wants our feedback. SCEE does not.
Do try to keep in mind that while they operate under the same umbrella, SCEA and SCEE and their respective social media teams do tend to do quite a few things differently from one another.
@372 I’d have agreed with you until this week. According to the EU blog manager, the EU and NA offerings are “now aligned”. The EU release was even pushed back to coincide with the USA announcement going live.
Last year EU used to get better games on Plus, while US got far better sales. Now they seem to be evening out on both sides. That’s just an observation on my part though.
..having said that – to the best of my knowledge the EU announcements and live date has never been moved to coincide with the US before – that’s a very very new thing! It does make me wonder what they have in store next.
I wasn’t too thrilled about this lineup when I first saw it, but now I think it’s pretty great. Spelunky isn’t my kind of game, but Dust looks really interesting. And Pix the Cat looks to be a lot more fun than I originally gave it credit for. Throw in the D&D game and I’m all in for this month.
I like the games PS+ is offering and I love how it gives me games I probably wouldn’t have picked on my own but then discover I really like.
YA no soy PLUS!!! D:
Man, the D&D collection alone already makes this an amazing month, but Arkham Asylum (which I never played, even though I beat Arkham City) and Spelunky make it double-fancy! Question, though: the article makes it look like the two Vita games this month are also accessible on their respective home consoles. Is that right or is that just wishful thinking?
so when does the free games come out today is the third and I am still seeing september
It never seems to amaze me here on the ps blog about people whinning about what games are given out for the month. It you don’t like ps plus then you know what you guys can do but of course you won’t end your subscription.
My question why we only getting Drive club plus addition when it was suppose to be released with the ps4 as a free game now we have to buy part of it 2.
WTF all I can download is Sept. Games!??!?!?!! It’s Oct. 3rd!
When will this be out because for some reason they are still not showing for me on my PS4! Help!
I love how people are complaining about Arkham Asylum as if it’s not a good game an they expect something as recent as Destiny to be free. Can’t you just be happy it’s not something dumb like Rayman? I say “Dumb like Rayman” not to knock Rayman, but to show how much better Batman is than Rayman. I, for one, am excited. I only played it on Xbox 360 and never beat it. So even though I have to do something like 63% of the game over again, I’ve never done the PS3 exclusive Joker missions or anything like that, so I’m happy to be able to get to play it. Haven’t you ever heard of “Retro Gaming?” Where people play older games because they’re good? That’s what this is; a great “retro” game.
Also, it’s funny how people are complaing they can’t download these yet when the new games are ALWAYS on the FIRST TUETDAY of any given month, not on whatever day the beginning of the month happens to fall on. Can no one be truly humble?
Looks great, I was wanting to get rainbow moon sometime. Thank you Sony!
There are a lot of cry-babies out there. Every month it never ceases to amaze me how ungrateful and entitled some prove themselves to be by complaining about the instant game collection. You should be thankful that you are alive, healthy, and have the ability to play video games–not everyone has that luck or luxury. Chill out and reflect on your good fortune. Oh, and i think these games are great! Can’t wait to play Drive Club. It will help me decide on whether to by it or not. To the people at Playstation, thank you for all your hard work and for providing those of us who are fortunate enough to play video games a great service! Keep it up!
@ThumbsOfSteel74
1. Arkham City, yeah. But for Arkham Asylum, I don’t believe so. Feels kinda weird when the 2nd game shows up on PS+ months before the 1st. Doesn’t make you want to play the prequel if you played the sequel already.
2. See my next comment if this one pops up.
3. Me either. I’m going to busy with my backlog of past PS+ games or games from other competitive platforms. Plus, I was never much of a Batman fan anyway.
Since my comments are not showing up as Gamerz, I’m posting it on his behalf:

It sucks that I have to post like this, now you guys who heard of me before know the actual name I go as. Any comments by Gamerz is actually me doing it.
2 (For Thumbs). No matter what Cradda says, his point of view is flawed. What he is doing is wrong as he is trying to speak for others like peasants. We’re not his slaves and that’s why I won’t stop. I hope you understand that.
@Shoshin-Jr I’m glad someone understands the same way how I’m feeling. Anyone who complains has no life and probably doesn’t work for a living. I have to study in college so I haven’t played video games for a whole semester. Now you know how that feels. I may not like the PS+ this month either, but I won’t cry like a little child like them.
So for my birthday, PSN Plus gives me a bunch of games I’m actually interested in for the first time in months. Yay!
(I am a huge RPG fan, btw)
The only thing I wish that they would allow would be the ability to switch your PSN region without having to reset your vita. There is a game I really want but I’ve heard that it isn’t going to be localized and I don’t want the physical copy due to having 10k USD worth of games (mostly PS2/PS3 games) stolen.
Bah, I meant to complete that statement that even if there was a fee for using it (so that SCEA still got some money out of it), I’d still be ok with it.
I swear people get on my nerves. If you think it’s a “crappy” month of free games, don’t play them. Don’t be so butt hurt. You can still BUY your own games if you feel like that. All of these games are amazing.
October 4th and nothing new is up . Why do they take so long to put up the first psn free game?
I’m very happy about driveclub on ps4 and batman on ps3, but why always indies? Maybe some of them are good, but none actually show the real capacities of the ps4. At least you could give Knack, or a real game with less value.. but please, stop giving games that nobody will even download, it’s not like if Sony didn’t already have enough money.
Its pretty rare for me to complain about PS+. That being said I am very very dissapointed in this months offerings…… Garbage sony….. Garbage…. Im getting sick and tired of these crap games….. Arkham Asylum….. Wow….. Just WOW Thats a slap in the face to someone like me.
PlayStation will not be getting my money next year, one decent game all year, outlast.no thanks bye bye
I already knew about the demo dis, but didn’t mind and late is maybe better than never.
I agree, there should be some horror, aka tricks up in these, well I can’t call them treats. In fact, one might call the games a rum trick lately, but not the kind worth paying for.
Even when I bought Arkum Asylum with all DLC, whistles on the cheap, it was old. Also, it was a mistake, I was trying to buy Arkum City, lol.
I’ve been curious about Rainbow Moon as it catches my eye now and again, but now that I’m aware of the in game purchases, I’m even less interested.
I guess even though people will *****, I kind of hope to see Hooked on! & Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD (I have for Vita, but maybe I’d complete it, on PS3). But I can’t bring myself to rebuy it, any more than these remastered ones.
They all look like something I’ll try, for those I haven’t already sampled, which is something.
Forgetting about PS3 users? Arkham Asylum really? Where are the good games you promised? I’m missing them.. Looks like I’m done with this gargabe Plus, used to be good but no more, Sony go wash your ass
Not horrible, definitely looking forward to D&D. Batman Arkham is a great game, but really felt you guys could’ve done a little better on that choice.
bad line up to ps3 players
