For those looking for the ultimate Minecraft experience, the PS4 Edition will feature worlds 36 times bigger than the ones you might be used to on the PS3 system. Existing players will be able to import PS3 saves to the PS4 Edition, allowing them to continue work on their immense structure or delve even deeper towards the Nether.
Staying true to our promise, we wanted to make sure that anyone who previously bought the PS3 Edition (Disc or Digital) would be able to upgrade to PS4 Edition for a small fee.

I guess so many people tried to get it at once they broke the servers.
I’m assuming all of you also got email receipts for purchasing Minecraft PS4 edition, since I did.
This will let Sony know who actually got affected by the glitch so they can let us download it without being charged again when it becomes available.

Honestly the part that annoys me the most is the fact that there has yet to be a response and this happens every time there is a big game release do they not prepare for this sort of thing??
My PS4 said they’re undergoing maintenance so HOPEFULLY this is getting resolved.
Yes a response would be nice. I can wait to get a new game for a day or two but when it affects my other games is when it becomes annoying.

@253 I don’t care about a refund, as long as they fix it in a reasonable amount of time. If they can take our money that fast, it’s not unreasonable to have the problem fixed fast as well.
I bought this and the 3 DLC I didn’t have for the PS3. Now it just says content not available. I hope tht Sony gets this worked out soon and gives us some answers.

Sony’s support page said they’re aware of the problem and working on a fix, so they do know something’s up.
VERY aggravating. I finally got down to number 6, then the screen switched and said no one was available to chat with me and to try again later. I clicked something and saw a message about minecraft. I clicked it and it said:
Attention:
We are aware some users are having issues with pricing, purchasing and downloading Minecraft for the PS4
We are working to resolve the issue ASAP, please stay tuned for details.
I am disappointed with Sony’s support. I shouldn’t have to wait for over 30 minutes, get to the front of the queue, and then be told to try later. It is ridiculous. I’m also tired of these server issues. I’m paying for plus, and still face the same issues as non plus members even though we are supposed to have an improved network. I never had any issues like this on my 360. Sony needs to invest money from memberships into getting more servers and a better infrastructure.
Come next Tuesday. Should we expect PSN to be down for a week Or one Month? If minecraft does this. Hate to see when Destiny hits.

Really not impressed with the level of cust. Service you guys employ…or lack there of.
If I had a question or issue on PC I know where to write and I get a response fairly quickly. If your a console player you tell me to post to the minecraft blog via 4J /playstation thread, as if I’m ever gonna get a response there…. And you ignore any kind of negative questions/concerns here on the ps blog. So I guess as far as a the console vers. goes your telling me I’m S.O.L. And yet you want me to just buy your product right?
I understand you can’t response to every single post but a lot of us are having issues with purchase/play and I’m still waiting for info on when the console edition is gonna be patched with more than the paltry amount of items, lack of themes and other gameplay elements pc has had for a while now.

Reminds me of the Minecraft launch on 360. No problems. So….. why are we paying for Plus again? I don’t really feel that my money is going to improve anything. There is certainly no proof that it is.
Ok, so I really just want the Vita and PS4 version. And if possible I’d like a physical version for the Vita version (memory cards are too expensive to get anything digital for Vita that I don’t have to… failure on Sony’s part when I know they’d rather me buy digitally, but I digress). I know that the 5 dollar upgrade will be good for a year after Minecraft comes out today on PS4. My question is, if I buy the Vita version rather than the PS3 version (I know they’re cross buy so I get the PS3 version), can I still upgrade to the PS4 version for 5 bux (long as it is within that year period)?
I’m just glad my copy of Destiny is Pre-loading Sunday. My money is on another meltdown when people who didn’t pre-order try to download their copy of Destiny. I’ll keep a seat in the tower warm for you late arriving guardians.

Really…wouldn’t experience and common sense tell the PS Store crew..that maybe releasing a game that has been getting major coverage the last week during the day would greatly affect the PSN in a bad way…. There are a ton of people that have spent the last day spamming the PS Store …So why not avoid a release during a time that’s so close to peak hours…? Especially when there are so many people aggressively trying to get the same thing….After all the the negativity the PSN has been in due to connection issues…you think they wouldn’t throw caution into the wind….
Should have quietly released MC during the AMs avoiding the wrecking ball of traffic…

Now here’s an interesting thing to note, from what i can tell, they had ps3 content show up on the ps4 list … (looking thru my purchase history online) … looks like i bought ps3 content packs for minecraft :(

My disc ps3 Minecraft saves are backed up in the cloud, how can I get the game for $4.99 on ps4? It only shows up as 19.99, no matter how I try. I’ve logged out, restarted console, put game in cart, then out of cart, then back in. Any help?

For those who need help downloading Minecraft, I purchased Minecraft earlier today. It charged me but did not download. Every time after that I tried to download the game I received an error saying I could not buy it. I just logged into the playstation store through my tablets browser, signed in and went to my download list. Minecraft was in there and I was able to tell it to download to my PS4. Hope this helps some people out.
There is no upgrade option for me. I have the PS3 version, no code in the box, and no upgrade option on the store. What do I do?!

How do you move worlds from PS3->PS4. I’m reading rumors that the PS3 version needs an update first. Is that right? If so when, and then what will the process be?
Finally got into the store after the maintenance, and I see I’m offered the upgrade for $5, which is fine but I was always planning to keep my ps3 version. I don’t see an option for that, so I’d HAVE to upgrade and then buy another ps3 version I’m assuming. So rather than spending $20 to get the new version I’d be spending $25. And yes I know it’s only five dollars… I don’t care if it were five cents that’s just screwing people out of money.
I also see you don’t offer the new skin and texture packs on ps3. Why is that? Does the fantasy and cartoon pack push that ps4 engine to its limits? That why? Or is it you want to encourage everyone who normally buys all your dlc to upgrade? You know what… Keep your franchise… Ok? I’m done. It’s a shame, for me anyway… I play minecraft with my son. He really enjoys it. But I’m not being forced into your cash grab upgrade due to lack of support on the ps3.
@aragost Same thing. Bought it on PS3 so I could have it on both systems for $5 more. They say all you need is a save file, got that, save is uploaded to online storage, also have the disc, still only option is to buy for 19.99
